  1. Just go for a long drive to use up the majority of $20 of unleaded and then fill up with the good stuff. Given you will be running 10psi on a generic tune without knowing AFR's etc. it's not worth the taking the chance.
  2. Exactly! ..... mind you, I suspect you would have trouble finding someone that writes 'smart Kiwi' or 'Qld legend'. ← Is there such a thing as a tautological oxymoran
  3. ABOUT F@CKIN TIME!!!

  5. Congratulations Steve (commiserations Lisa) Nice looking little unit As for buying, $290 a week would service a loan of around $200k which would buy you a sh!thole in the arse end of sh!tsville. Work hard, save hard, don't get Lisa pregnant and you're own place will come in time.

  7. I have mate. My neighbour bought one (80cc)Kazooma and was spewing when I bought the Yamaha Raptor(80cc).I paid $3200 new for mine and he paid $1500 for his and was constantly getting things fixed that would fall off or break. The Yamaha had better suspension and has done 3 years on my parents property carting horse and has never broke one thing. The Yamaha was a far better quad and is still going fault free. They are cheap and provide fun but you get what you pay for. My 2 cents dude ← that's what I wanted to hear / or not depending on how you look at it Cheers
  8. About to move to a property with 7 acres and I figured Santa could get the kids some ATV's to play around on. Ages are 6, 9 and 42 Had a quick ring around ( on Santa's behalf) and for $6,000 I can get three Chinese bikes( 50cc, 90cc and 300cc) compared to over double for anything decent. Now I know you get what you pay for however as they will not be raced / jumped I'm trying to find out whether the cheapies will do the job or not. Speak to anyone from Yamaha, Honda etc. and they obviously sh!tcan the chinese stuff stating that you will always have problems /no parts etc. Anyone had any experience with these things and can offer some words of wisdom / advice?
  9. If you throw in a whip perhaps DBOSS will buy it for Sharleen
  10. Personally the first person I wanted to share a the biggest decision of my life with was with my wife to be and not some bloke that just happened to be her Father. You never know perhaps your prospective life partner may hold the same view. Some customs / traditions are worth holding onto (such as consumating the marriage) but this is not one of them in my opinion.

    Better 60'

On a side note what can you learn from the MPH? For example when I Did a 12.8 @ 113mph the 60' was not recorded on the slip. Some have suggested that the MPH was quite high for the ET. Does this suggest that the 60' would have been reasonable , crap or indifferent?
  12. 2 Months ago you were asking our advice as to whether you should keep the T because you didn't think ikeeping it was a viable option due to you fiance being pregnant as I recall. Now your signing up for deals that will see you throw away another 20k for a lesser optioned T I take it your financial situation as changed somewhat or did a phschic tell you that your unborn child would be a self made millionaire by the age of two. For what it's worth sounds like you did the sensible thing and ruin the car salesmans day.
  13. Yeh it happens to me occasionally but somehow I've managed to just put up of the intense pain I just thought it had something to do with my electric personality

  16. 1. Two weeks is a f%ckin long time 2. Every performance mod can be justified by the resultant fuel savings. 3. Alot of people on this forum need to get a life (myself included) 4. Italian Tuners are f%ckin ugly. (nice blokes though) 5. Smilies can speak a thousand words. 5. To some, max. rwkw is more important than life itself (or at least a fast car) 6. Tranny is a word that describes a car and not an ex politician named Pauline. 7. A timeslip provides a good show and tell for the kids. 8 (a). A sound of a screaming baby running it's nails down a blackboard runs a distant second to rattling / pinging. 8 (b). The site of marbles can make your stomach churn 9. Edit doesn't mean you've made a mistake. 10. Phantom is by far the best colour ever made for the T. 11. Radars are as essential as petrol. 12.It is possible to spend the equivelent of the value of your first car on cleaning products.
  17. That is one fat power curve! I cant wait to have my trans rebuilt so I can get some decent low-down power. My car is running around the low 300's and is boring to drive! I need the big turbo rush! soon! very soon! ← Greedy Pr!ck Having dry road traction issues in 1st & 2nd wouldn't be considered boring by most peoples standards.
  18. What, impersonate a police officer?
  19. I have the 27 mm front bar and 21 mm rear, and this is a good combo Don't know about the 30 mm front bar, but I would think it would be a bit harsh. ← Mate what other suspension mods are you running, I am about to get front and quite possibly rear sway bars. Scotty ← Ninka is overseas at present so dig up one of his posts as his signature lists his mods. For what its worth I'm running the same swaybars as Alan along with lowered springs and it's all good. I can all but guarantee that you won't regret the purchase.

  21. Before you cart your box off to the East give Stuart Bailey of Bailey Automatics in Balcatta a call 92401259. They did a trans cooler / service on my car some 18mths ago and at the time were starting to do a fair bit of R&D on the boxes. Apparently there are a couple of highly modded T's and supercharged 8's getting around with their boxes as we speak. Well worth a chat if nothing else. Let us all know how you get on if you do decide to call
  22. Yes, this is implied in the Brembo quote and also in my previous posts. Speed and repetivity are the major factors. I think where a lot of people with bigger brakes might be getting confused is in the different pedal feel a better system will offer. The brakes will 'feel' a lot stronger, probably biting earlier and quicker and requiring much less pedal pressure for the same braking power. The pedal will also feel 'firmer', especially if braided lines have been fitted as part of the upgrade. I imagine that, for the SAME PEDAL PRESSURE APPLIED, a better brake package probably WILL stop the car quicker than the stock setup - but all the stocker has to do is apply more pressure. Factors like these may lead people to believe that their bigger brakes will pull their car up quicker? ← I think you've summed it up right there oh "Sensible and Wise one" So in theory, people who never drive at "high" speeds who still want better feeling brakes at a reasonable cost may want to consider getting some braded line (providing you can get them for stockies). If on the other hand you think you might occasionally drive @ an irresponsible speed and want the confidence in knowing that your brakes won't let you down go the upgraded brakes. So what have we learned today kiddies...........that's right.......... BIGGER BRAKES WILL NOT MAKE YOU STOP FASTER ........JUST BETTER
  23. I will highly doubt that our stock brakes would fade from a single stop between 100-40 that is laughable! ← Fade or otherwise, bottom line, stock brakes are total and absolute crap compared to an upgraded package.
  24. I upgraded to PBR's (available of BCR01, forum member) for $1,800 which is a great price. And yes they are alot lot lot better than the stockies. The key differences being that the PBR's do not show any sign of fading over repeated hard braking and the effort it takes to pull up quickly is a lot less. In short they give you far more confidence in the brakes ability to pull you quickly when you need to. For example, your travelling along in stop start traffic and the guy in front catches you unawares by braking harder than expected, you apply the brakes and the distance between you and him is closing at a greater rate than you would like. With stockies you end up jumping on them to avaid a collision wheras the PBR's just need a little more pressure to do the job. I know we all struggle to justify spending a fair chunk of change on something that doesn't make the car look better or go faster but believe me you won't regret a brake upgrade one little bit.
