  1. G'day mate. found this in another thread... Also after reading the replies in the castrol forum, it would seem they intend on realeasing a suitable fluid.

  3. anyone able to tell me if the front section is the same? reason I ask is there's a cheap dump and front pipe on ebay off a tornado... dump on ebay dont like the look of how the seperate wastegate pipe blends back in though!

    it is true, they list it on their website for BF2 XR6T's anyway. does mention ZF's in the data sheet too I've just gotten a quote from a mate for $550 for 20L and $330 for steel pan kit, from ZF aus. Dave

    Be nice to know exactly what the differences in fluids are, or if they just want people to think theirs is the only thing suitable, so they can charge the prices they are!

    Yep I've read mixed results on the Transmax Z too, but never anything on the Fuchs which is what he wants to use, hence why I'm asking. Also be keen to know what else has been used, pretty sure I saw Nulon mentioned somewhere too. My car is only stock at the moment, with intetntions to do some work on it soon, that's why I want the trans in tip top condition first.
  9. G'day, Just been to my local auto trans specialist (only one of them up here really) to get a price on servicing my ZF. Anyway I mentioned Transmax Z, and he said he doesn't use that and instead uses some sort of Fuchs fluid (unsure what) and wasn't too keen on the Transmax Z (dunno why, didn't ask) Anyone heard of this being used before, and any experiences? I could get the genuine stuff from Ford, but really don't want to pay for it. I was quoted $400 for a service, and ~$500 including a full flush. Thanks

  11. dunno what happened with the link! these were the wheels in question... would've fitted with minor rear guard work, except I ended up going 19's in a different wheel instead...
  12. Just need to know what size our hubs are I.e centre of the wheel as I'm changing the wheels over and the new rims will have a 73.1mm centre bore. Car is a BF MK2 Thanks, Dave
  13. Cheers for the heads up. Yep looking at getting them in 20x8.5 +35 with 245/30/20 & 20x9.5 +35 with 255/30/20. With some guard rolling and maybe pumping these will fit based on other members experiences. See attached tyre calculator, quite handy! Tyre Calculator English.xls
  14. Thanks for the help guys. Worm, what width tyres are you running? I was going to lip the guards, and if I lowered it, it wouldnt be a whole lot.
  15. +24 would be nice. would they need guards rolled though, and how would it go if the car was lowered down the track? and how about the fronts? I read that +30 in an 8.5 is pushing it, so I imagine a +35 would be fine. the wheels...
  16. Hi, Just wondering if anyone could confirm if these may fit a BF sedan. the manufacturer only has one other offset, +24 on the 9.5 or +18, which neither of would suit. I have stock ride height (which I probably wont change, may lower a little one day) Using what other people have gone with in the past as a guide, it seems they should come pretty close to fitting. Will probably go with 255 or 265 rears, and 245 fronts. Thanks, Dave
  17. Not shallow mount so may interfere with the panel that covers the stock sub? Also, something with the lowest power and highest sensitivity would be best if running from the stock amp, so the 200wrms would go okay. I'm planning on sound deadening my parcel shelf and front doors first, if I'm still not happy then I'll change the sub and speakers.
  18. Mine is a late BF2 with 303mm solid rears, ex HWY from VIC brakes seem pretty normal to me! its just got nomral rotors and dunno what pads, nothing special I presume. maybe it has a bigger mastercylinder, making them more touchy??
  19. never worked since ive had the car! I'm not too fussed by it, just like things working the way they should! will speak to ford when I get the chance and see what they say
  20. Cheers, I've driven many falcons before so understand the delay between presses, but it doesnt matter how many times or how fast, it doesn't work. The FG key is a blank. I have programmed it from the car, just havent got the key section cut yet. also, tried reprogramming both remotes from the car, this had no effect on the horn. and no car is stock (ex police hwy car though) Thanks, Dave

  22. I'm in shepparton, 23, full comp with racv, rating 1, stock bf2. My premium is $1060, aami was about $100 cheaper, but their contents insurance was over $100 more. Already been with racv in the past so was easier to sick with them.

Hi guys, I have a bf mk2, and the horn works fine, except when using the remote, pressing lock twice, the car doesnt beep, and the panic button on the alarm doesnt work either. the car locks fine, and the horn works normally when pressing on the steering wheel, so I'm not sure what the issue is. I dont think it's the remote (I only have 1, the other is an fg key yet to be programmed/cut) Any idea's would be much appreciated. Thanks, Dave

Yesterday I filled up with Vortex 98, had about 540km on the trip meter with 50km range left. range bumped up to 519km when full. from the servo it was prettymuch straight into 100km/h driving with cruise on, relatively flat ground, instantaneous fuel usage going from 7-10. then randomly, when the range got to around 510 then, it started dropping very quickly, about 2-3km for every 1km actually travelled. Its now got 120km on the trip meter, with 430km on the range. gauge displays 7/8 of a tank, or half way between full and 3/4 markers. I stopped to see if it was leaking fuel but couldnt see or smell anything. Any idea's on why this would occur? Car is stock apart from FPV cooler, airbox and k&n filter. Thanks
