There's a guy on here pushing his fg xr6t on the track and he has 4s and uses slicks and v8supercar pads. That said you'll be able to sell off your second hand 4s so you'll make some back. I went with a 6/1 setup myself though but that was from stock xr6t brakes.

I think there was a set on facebook for 2500 recently with rotors and pads, probably sold already at that price. I picked up the 6 pot calipers with brembo pads and standard lines for 1800 new last year. If you're on facebook get on the FG parts for sale page.

Hey Jono when I do mine I jack the back of the car up and heaps more always come out. I end up putting in a 6lt of nulon and about half the little bottle as well.

this^^^ had nine replaced recently with vibration under load more noticeable up hill so I'd imagine 170 would do it! Check for excessive play.

Just had my CB replaced today, signs were vibration under load mainly up hill on the highway, and excessive shaft play. See how it's off centre and the cracking up top of the rubber where it's stretched. Place I did it also found that when I had my broken diff bolt and hat replaced last year by ford that whoever did it had no idea what they were doing, the handbrake cable was jammed in against the diff and rubbing through, explains why my diff was so clunky before as well, feels nice and tight in the rear now it's great! Didn't get charged for that fix up either,!

Matt at RBS told me the h21s were supercar pads, don't know about the h16s. Yeah I didn't think the prices were too bad, certainly not cheap. Don't know if being for 6 pot actually makes them cheaper if your looking at over $700 for yours Paul. Edit: just checked that link and looks like they're both v8sc pads lol, obviously race vs endurance.

I went with some intima sr pads for $200 as a track only pad, I swap tyres so swapping pads is no biggie. They suited my budget at the time I bought them, decent reviews from skyline forums, haven't had a chance to run them yet, hoping for March. Otherwise race brakes sydney have the following prices to me in August PMU H21 about $650 a set or H16-03 which a step down and more popular but basically they are the same at $580.

GPS, music and movies, usb and android for running torque and I'd be set. Would just use the normal radio. I'd pay a few hunge installed I like this sort of solution though, fully upgradable as tech changes, unlike inbuilt tech that will age so quickly. Also be way ahead of what car makers build into their entertainment systems.

I've never read about it being worried about mismatched tyres! If your gunning it what's probably happening is its thinking your going to keep going and its leaving it in a lower gear waiting to go faster. In performance mode it's more obvious otherwise it may have learned you like to go hard. Once you get to third she'll be so willing just to keep going, the fg xr6 turbo just wants to keep going and if you gas it up and then hold back it'll be left wanting. That's my 2c anyway, I would t sorry unless your putting around then you might just to reset it by disconnecting the battery in case it's learnt some bad habits.

Could have been head spotting though, super hot and water splashes on and quickly cools only a part of the rotor thus causing it to warp, have been told of this happening to ppl

Yeah but we all know how much the dun flops let down the XR and FPV range, the fact you can go from out of control and crazy wheel spin to very controlled and minimal wheels spin just from some decent rubber says a lot. Edit: plus I don't know what rubber bolt runs with or how grip limited he is

Tyres are a huge factor here, give the xr8 anything better than dunflops and it would lap a lot quicker! But as seaton says that is flying around wakefield in a stock car. I seem to remember Luffy did a 1:10 in the new HSV GTS, couldn't find where I saw that though, he also did a 1:09 in an F6
