-
Yeah not good just saw it too. Ends the speculation...
-
yeah prob not a good market for that in little ole Canberra really.
-
Nah in Canberra, had a quick google and can't find anything like it around here, pretty handy there's a mechanic on hand too, would come in handy, bet would have saved a few mistakes lol
-
that is friggin awesome! Diy workshop sounds wicked!

I read some of the comments on that article at lunch which was a mistake, ppl have nfi which is nothing new, then there was one guy saying the only possible explanation was that the car was being flogged, no thought in his argument to the fact that the car was obviously not tuned for e10, der.... combine that with pingtune and yeah no safety in that tune for sure. Also found it retarded that apparently this car has been eclipsed by the hsv gts, isn't this 400 rwkw? Can't seem to find confirmation on that though...

Just after buying it 20% off on the weekend it's now 35% off from 29/01/14-09/02/14. At least I bought it on club plus so I've got the difference in credit anyway. For 2 bottles. Good deal for $39.97 saving $22.91 I'd u use the nulon full synth should stock up!

Lol nice, but isn't the middle the safest spot? Btw no children and no real idea, but since ill only be able to hold the wife off a bit longer myself I'll need to know eventually haha.
-
Lucky bugger Let us know how the brembos go
-
Another on 18s here still, enkei racing PF01s lightweight, 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears, amazing the difference in weight! And 18s definitely better for track :D

I guess I should post so that I can document my progress Your Name: BulletimeCar Make and Model: 2009 FG XR6TCircuit Name: Wakefield ParkLap time: 1.15.1 Modifications: Brakes, wheels and tyres.Engine: Stock, k&n airfilter with xr8 airboxPower: StockSuspension: StockTyres: 255/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rear Michelin Pilot Super sports on enkei PF01sBrakes: T3s and EBC bluestuff front, stock solid rotor and ebc reds rear .Body weight: stock, took out the spare etc Third time out pretty happy, using harrys laptimer putting my 2 best sectors together I have a theoretical fastest lap of 1.14.1, so still got plenty of pace in me.

Removed turbo oil supply screen, no oil starved turbo for me, and gave her a wash after all the 40 degree days parking under gum trees :s
-
I'm thinking of using a buckled wheel I've got to be my spare for when I do brembos.
-
Yeah saw that on YouTube, pretty epic and good effort. Few guys saying though that the high hp v8s usually kick over 1500 hp but there was none around? That turbo though looks like it'll suck in small children and turn them into pure kw's haha.

yeah supercheap http://www.meguiars.com.au/products/car-care/paint-care/surface-prep/quik-clay-detailing-system/ and http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/g7016-gold-classtrade-carnauba-plus-liquid-wax/ seems to work well, the clar bar was easy to use just took a long time, wasn't super hard work as the clay does the work really but 4-5 hrs of it is tiring, including the extra washing and then waxing. Worth it though, looks fantastic! Will do again in 6 months time, never leaving it near 3 yrs, car is 4 yrs old, felt guilty as lol.
-
Washed (yesterday), clay barred, washed again then polished. Cars never looks so good! First time using clay bar, awesome how it picks up all the surface crap, surface went from coarse to smooooth. Used meguires stuff that I picked up on special recently. Hard work too

Or with the warmer weather maybe your tyres are gripping up better, and if they've worn down they can also get a bit more grip before they die... But prob boost solenoid or throttle body needs a clean.

Lol all good mate you'll feel better every time you go out trust me! Those coilovers should be a lot better than standard, should be good! Yeah Geoff said about 40 is right, what pressure were they after each session? Probably around 45 or higher until they stabalised yeah? Don't really know if the ku39s are great, but that was a hell of a lot of screeching out of them. Some of the cheapy obd2s work out some dont, I have an expensive one and it's been great. You didn't by chance time Geoff in your car did you? Mega keen what time he would have done in your car, what'd he think of it the xr6t? I've got a monstor pod too, did attached my really good digital camera too it a few times but then decided I'd rather not risk it and leave the camera duties to the gopro. That's from the impound (what the sticker says) it was in my street in duffy a month or so ago staying at someones house, wasn't nice being woken up at 6:30 in the morning from it reversing up a long driveway though :@ I'm all for loud tough cars but come on get a daily or run a daily exhaust or something.

Mate well done, I wanna do one of these too, I was there last year spectating and it was cold as f.uk! 12 degrees but 4 with wind chill, so 30 is pretty epic lol. I thinks Kevs gtr had the fastest time of 19-20 seconds. Most factory cars last yr seemed to do about 26-27 altho I did hear ppl complaining of the surface being too loose to get traction. Lambo diablo did a 25-26 if I remember right. Was a turbos v8 jeep Cherokee that smashed about 21-22 seconds, that thing was epic. So I guess to hit top speed even a 1000m event isn't enough then. Guess you gotta have a mate with a private road or go to the NT now they have unlimited again.

Hey mate well done, tracks days are addicted hey! I've done 3 now and yeah I'll be doing a lot more lol. Don't be too worried about the time first time out is a mind *beep*, it's more about getting comfortable at speed and learning the racing line, as Geoff says accuracy first then speed will come, he's awesome btw hey, pretty funny dude! My first time out I did a 1:19.3, stock suspension and just dba 4000s with upgraded fluid and pads, next time out I did a 1:16.7 That was last year doing speed off the streets. This year I did the September circuit club day and learnt a lot from the track walk with Geoff and then stupidly grabbed him for the first session of the day. I saw stupidly because driver (brain) nor car had warmed up yet and he pushed me pretty hard, tyre pressures were all wrong and with his massive weight over the front left I had a big spin at the fish hook, but I learned from it all the same. Ended up with another few offs later in the day as well but it was good because I knew I was pushing lol. My best time from the circuit club day was 1:15.1, unfortunately I hadn't changed my brake fluid from last year so I ended up cooking the brake fluid later on in the day and couldn't get much faster at the end of the day. All was not lost though I looked at my Harrys data and put together my two best sectors for the day and I have a theoretical fastest lap of 1:14:1 which I'm mega happy about. Means even with stock engine, stock suspension and very minor brake upgrade I still have another second left to gain. Also I've just picked up some second hand track rims and slicks and I'm hoping to be able to get into the 1:12s just from the tyres. I might be heading out late this month to a speed off the streets day before the weather gets too hot, then hopefully by the time the weather cools down again next year I'll have teins, brembos and eflex pushing about 340 rwkws... that's the hope anyway lol, just bought a house so pretty poor atm. I've got a few vids I've been meaning to put on youtube so might get around to it, I've been meaning to give vbox circuit tools a go (http://www.vboxmotorsport.co.uk/index.php/en/products/performance-meters/18-customers/downloads/11-software), I think it's free but otherwise I'll check out dashware. Maybe see you at the track one day! Also what tyres were you running? and what pressures, they were screaming waaayyy too much lol And what suspension work have you had done? edit: my obd dongle works fine too, haven't used it at the track but around town I've never had a problem, cheap chinese ebay one?
-
Lol unlucky! Brake pads would be pricey for them anyway yeah? I'm prob doin the usual 4 pot brembos front and terry rear upgrade, should be plenty for the track, proven by nelsonian. Months away though for me.
-
Don't go the red stuffs, I toasted some with the stock fg calipers at Wakefield park, and by toasted I mean disintegrated, literally got them to crumble! http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?/topic/82816-Thought-They-Would-Have-Lasted-Longer... Go the project mu they are proven to be one of of not the best track pad for our cars. Ebc blues are decent too!
-
Jax quickfits sell enkei but dunno that they'd stock to many that fit our cars. Altho when they had the wheel nuts and hub rings in their computer for my car, as tirerack wouldn't provide me with them. Just email autotechnika their website was sh*t when I used it
