  1. Funny your getting held up by what would be thought of as more traditional track cars , gotta love a well setup falcon! I'm guessing the pbr-ms aren't available for fg, never heard of them. Good to see the ebc blues doing the job though, do u have a separate set for the street? How long r they lasting u? Ford threw mine out and I had only gone one track day and a few thousand highway kms, wasn't happy!
  2. Wow just wow, pretty bold! Either high on drugs for a joy ride, or high on drugs and gonna do a serious strip. Wait for eBay brembos and rims
  3. Nice work, how much more time do u think u can shave off? So r u doing all this without brembos?? What size front rotors, are the pbr-ms two pot?
  4. Actual racing or just track days? Xr8 would probably be heavier and the low down torque of the turbo will accelerate a lot quicker. A few guys on here with lots of track experience so someone will chime in. Bigger aftermarket radiator would be in order too
  5. Both those prices are a steal! Jesus. Buy them both and after a year keep the one u like the most and sell the other for a profit still!
  6. It's the limit of the stock turbo, far from the limit of the engine, see over 400 unopened with different turbos.
  7. I've taken the tongue out of mine plenty of times, did your car do a lot of towing and or it's rusted up pretty good? Wd 40? Mine was never that hard to undo.
  8. Mine got done by a proper transmission shop and it took a full liter to fill, done at the right temp. All up 943, about 180 for install and fluid top up and I just got them to order the pwr exchanger. Seen some guys payin 700-800 for oil to air.
  9. Ive got a 28km round trip to work everyday and only use 3.4ltrs of fuel, on 98 at $1.75 avg in Canberra that's 5.95 a day. Around here that's less then the cost of a bus. When u figure it's actually only $30 in fuel a week for me to get to and from work it's jack all. My costs are from longer trips on the highway every few months to see family. I'm on a lease so my cost per ltr comes down a few cents to about 17cents for the to and from work.
  10. I know but I'd bet a lot of ppl never/rarely do, then does their mechanic even? Maybe if they're a tuna but otherwise prob not.
  11. That's exactly what I did too arronm, never had any problems! Waste of money doing anything else. Bet hardly anyone with an earls actually cleans them even though they thought they would...
  12. Spent the afternoon in the car park at work reattaching my front left caliper to the car after the mounting bolts rattled out at the skid pan and I found my caliper half hanging off the pads and scrapping on the inside of the wheel. Got lucky the caliper still had pressure against the pad and didn't come all the way out, woulda lost all brake pressure :s Well didn't take all arvo but my arvo at work was a right off after going to ford spares in a mates car then doing the job without my usual tools. Fun times.
  13. There isn't a not like button unfortunately
  14. I think u quoted me not arronm lol but anyway mine has the expensive lifeguard stuff, had a service 18 months ago so was still nice and clean, wasn't any point doing anything more then a top up. Guys at the shop I went to had mine on the hoist most the day so it was nice and cool once they topped it up.
  15. Why r u swapping ecus?
  16. Pretty sure u lose the aircon and all the multi function stuff and prob heaps of other stuff, trip computer and the like id imagine. I think ppl that have looked into it have found it not worthwhile unless making a super drag weapon
  17. Oil level is a good bet, or at least first thing to rule out. Beyond that maybe pressures from the changed hoses, or just too many burn outs but since so many ppl have the external cooler without issue it sounds like fluid level could be the cause
  18. mine took 1 liter, the ppl that did mine said they did it at the right temp too, under 40 degrees, I've read on AFF ppl saying it took 400-500ml, I'd be thinking they'll have problems with incorrect fluid level.
  19. Window tinting for sure, gives about 10hp straight away
  20. The boys at the transmission shop unpacked the exchanger in front of me and they were impressed with the quality, the welds on it are epic! Pretty solid unit too it's got a fair bit of weight to it over the stock unit. Good hoses too, didn't realise the stock one has hard plastic pipes with no give in them.
  21. 5.1 seconds Stock with my wife in the car (doesn't weigh much) using the timer on her iPhone. Shot falken 452s. Reckon I'd get way more now with my 275 mich pss on the rear.
  22. Also a good idea to clean off the rust and scale off the hub face to minimise runout. Metal brush on a drill and wd40. Also remember jack stands and wheel chocks, I'm sure u know that though.
  23. Speaking of which I just had this installed today! Sleeping well tonight!
