  1. Hi there , I can bring a portable flood light to help with the lighting !!
  2. I agree , you should get a tape recorder explaining what happened so you atleast have a voice left by the end of the night !
  3. am only new to the forums but will definately be in for this as I live on the Northern beaches and wont be much of a travel to get home !! just keep in mind the the red and blue love to make a attendance to all the palm beach cruises , last one I went on they KINDLY set up a defect station at Palmbeach for us , expensive night!
  4. Spotted a green BA-XR6T with a xr8 bonnet in Cromer Industrial area on the northern beaches(didn't get a chance to catch the number plate as he was sideways as in front of me :-) ) stopped and had a quick chat to him , was wondering if you are on the forums!
  5. Id go with what most here have said "Buy a house or get out and see the world while you can ! " I myself am on my green P's and drive a BA XR6 Turbo , but I have had my green P's for 8+ years and am exempt from the no turbo on your p's law (im probally one of the only drivers on there P's that legally drives a XR6 Turbo ! ) personally id do it differntly if I could turn back time I have thrown WAY too much money into past cars and always kick myself when it comes time to sell !
  6. Hey all , just posting this up to let you know how I got reemed up the ass by Ford today , I bought a second hand 2004 BA XR6 Turbo from a Ford dealership on the northern beaches about 3 weeks ago and about the second day I had it I went to open the bonnet and the bonnet release has been broken away from the fuse box and hangs down near the accelerator pedel , secondly the car has now just started to run rough and shakes when it idles in Park or Drive and am hearing a light pop in the exhasut note and lastly the drivers window is taking for ever to go up . So I have taken the car down to them yesterday to rectify the problems. Picked the car up last night and was told that the problems were fixed and noticed I was down nearly half a tank of fuel ! 1)Was told the bonnet release mechanism and cable have been changed and the problem is now fixed , but got home and went to open the bonnet and the mechanism drops to the floor (have checked the cable and it is my original cable as it had a nick it the side of the cable in the same spot still ! )and the cable wasnt the problem it is the fuse box base that has broken , the bit where the bonnet release slides into! so problem not even looked at! 2) Was told that the rough idle / shake was a normal thing for the BA Xr6 turbos due to the style of the catalytic convertor that Ford uses in them (So I asked if it brough up any codes in the diagnostic scan and he said " we didnt need to do ones as we knew what the problem was already " and said if I wanted to have the ecu scanned for trouble codes I would have to pay for this service ! " 3) The only thing they seemed to have fixed was the Drivers window as it now goes up alot better , but ..... they have managed to get silicone lube all over my drivers door trim , seat base and on the outside of the car on the door and sideskirts ! So am going to take the car down tommorow and chuck a wobbley at the service manager ,and demand some answers !!! any input from you guys or similar stories would be great !!
  7. Hey all , as a few of you know I bought a set of 20" dub Shoreline rims for my BA Xr6 turbo , they came fitted with the 225/35/20 which were to tall for the front so I have dropped the front tire size to a 235 / 30 / 20 and am now tossing up on what tires to buy for the rear ??? The guy at my local Bob Janes recons that 255/30/20 will fit on the rear of a BA but he didnt seem to confident though!so am asking if anyone else is running 255 / 30 / 20 on a set of 20" wheels with a offset of +35mm on a BA sedan , and pricewise the options I have at this stage are 255/30/20 ACHILLIES , 255/30/20 ACCELAERA PHi or Haida 255/30/20 , any input would be greatly appreciated . Cheers. Pete
  8. Will the 245/30/20 rub on the inner guards on full lock ??? Cheers. Pete
  9. I think your right on the money there !!! will now be looking at purchasing some 225/30r20s for the front to gain the needed clearance between the tyre and upper wishbone.
  10. Hey Mate , my rears are 8.5 inches so are the front ! would the 6mm wheels spacer make a huge differnce in the offset ??? as about 2cm of the top of the tire has the upper wishbone sitting on it ! Cheers. Pete
  11. HEY ALL , SORRY IT IS NOT THE CONROL ARM IT IS THE UPPER WISHBONE ON THE FRONT SUSPENSION !
  12. Hey All ,Just purchased a set of 20 inch by 8.5inch wide with a +35mm offset Dub Shoreline wheels and have fitted them with some cheap 225/35/r20 all round thought I had done my reaserch right with them fitting a BA Xr6 turbo that sits at standard height but have run into the drama of the front tyres are fouling on the front conrol arms (I think this is the part, the part the sticks out above the tyres with the black rubber bush)they are not fouling against them when turning they are sitting firm on top of the tyres (to the point the have worn a grove about 4cm across the top of the tyres ! ) and was wondering what my options are to stop the control arms resting on top of the tires ?? could it possibly be that the cheap tires are a little bit taller than stated ??? or has my stock suspension sagged(it is a 1 elderly owner car with 79,000kms and has defintaely not been lowered as it still has the standard black springs with the red dotted paint markings and looks to be at standard height) ?? or could spaces for the rims be used ???or if worse comes to worse should I try a lower profile tire ??? any input would be great ! Cheers. Pete
