  2. id love to put the donk outta the T into it... but that's just silly... hahahaha ... dreams are free
  3. thanks for the advice guys... its a marinised 327 chev... basically its a mercruiser cause all they are are chev blocks with their heads on anyway... looks like im gonna be a busy boy tommorow but im sure well get it going on the advice ive got from you guys... cheers again
  4. cheers mate... il check the dizzy first as I suspect it may have slipped... with the left and right adjustment would the middle be tdc... and looking from the back of the engine to the front( the dizzys is right in front of you then) is adjusting left adv or ret? thanks for any help or info...
  5. hey everybody... I have a boat with a 63' 327 chev with a twin barralled holley carb and am having some issues that have me stumped... went to our local lake on thurs... ran great and on friday to... sat started to get a very uneven idle, sort of surging so I turned the idle up a bit... then it seemed to be missing under power... then it wouldnt start... checked points, plugs, cant check timing cause wont idle... could it be fuel pump or carb issues?really lost... help
  6. Forgive a newbie question, but could you explain a little what that means. I have been told about oil under pressure supplying turbo bearings, but how is the water used? Is there a water jacket that is used to remove heat from the bearings or something? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is cut and pasted from another thread as I dont know how to link... please forgive me... Ford used the thermosyphon trick..how it works simply, turn off donk, turbo hot boils coolant, boiling coolant rises up the pipe which means new coolant flows in,so you get a flow of coolant moving around and around with out the water pump running. Pretty neat trick that, good for around town stuff. If you do a track day and sting the living sh!t out of it,you should let it run a bit before shut down Vik
  7. hey mate... there are heaps of really detailed threads on this subject... no need for turbo timer as the turbo is feed oil after switch off by some flash hot vs cold water system that goes beyond my understanding but that's what these guys said and I for one trust the knowledge on this site more than a ford mechanic... but it is advisable to let it idle for a min if you have flogged it just before you get home , after a few laps of phillip isld or a drag run...
  8. do a google search for "how to remove... name of ad..." quite often there are sites dedicated to this kind of stuff
  9. to download movies music etc go to www.suprnova.org and learn how to use bit torrent... its easy once you know how...
  10. looks great... goes great sounds great ... I want one
  11. a biger one wont neccesraly soud better as it will probably need more power than the stock stereo has got to make it work properly...
  12. I agree somewhat... but... I had an au2 xr6 that di around 350ks a tank on 98oct... then had extractors installed and was getting 450ks per tank... my only reasoning was that with the engine working far more efficiently, I was recieving more pwer per stroke on the same amount of fuel hence more fuel efficiency, hence more ks... and forced induction was originally designed for fuel efficiency and more power per stroke (before it was designed for pure power I.e acceleration) ... so it makes sense that by making the turbo more efficient milage would increase...no?
  13. looks great... love the bobtail and the gauges... did you have to sacrifice the clock...ahh well time stands still I a xr6t... cause were doing the speed of light... haha...can we have some photos of the grill...
  14. looks great... what part is getting coated... the intake(ie the black bit)
