Just found the perfect set of wheels for my FG F6. 20x9 front with +20, +32 or +38 offset options. Rears can be either 20x10 +45 or 20x10.5 with +25 or +45 offset options. Its a sedan with the usual SSL front/SSSL rear combo. What would be the best choice? Would there be any issues clearing the Brembos? From what I've read here 20x9 +32 and 20x10.5 +45 would be OK? Thanks
Just had mine done about an hour ago. SSL front and SSSL rear. Ride is a little firmer which is fine, not too harsh though. Much less body roll and it sits very nicely. It will probably drop slightly more once the springs settle. Had it done at Suspension City and they only took about 45 mins!
Option 1 has been written off twice. A mate did a check on it last week. Water damage in 2011 and a collision in 2012. Explains the low kms and possibly the GT wing and bonnet
Went tonight, the boards still weren't fixed. It's like going to a movie and not having sound. Whoever ends up running it really needs to get their sh*t together. On another note, I'm pretty sure I saw three FG's suffer either tailshaft or gearbox failures
Thanks for the input! I got to drive a BF Typhoon a few days ago and really liked it but the FG had a much better feel to it in my opinion. Interior is much nicer too, BF was showing its age but still a REALLY nice car that is hard to fault. Hard decision in the end. Anyway I should be buying an FG XR6 Turbo in the next week or so...cant wait!
If I can pick up something like this for about 45k it would be a good buy. New FG + aftermarket wheels and upgraded brakes would push me to around this price anyway http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=9603433&__Qpb=true&Cr=3&__Ns=pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|0||pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&keywords=&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294965879%204294954501&silo=1011&__No=15&seot=1&tsrc=allcarhome&__Nne=15&trecs=153&__sid=127C16C3A503
Sounds like the general idea is to go for the FG which I was leaning towards anyway! I did notice that the brakes weren't in line with the rest of the car that's one of the main reasons I considered a BF Typhoon. I'd love an FG F6 but I dont want to spend that much. I'd be better off using the money I save towards mods and having a better package overall. Thanks guys, just needed to hear what a few others thought
