  1. Lol, started driving it again more frequently since your post last year.
  2. That was with synthetic oil, they did check the turbo bolts (mentioned during the brief on what they'd done, anything wrong, etc), topped up the windscreen washer (not that it costs anything but it surprised me that they checked). I did mine at 7,500km with the dealer and asked them to replace the air filter at the 15,000 service and when it came time to pay, they said not to worry about the air filter cost (it was cheap anyway from memory). And of course I got the attempted up sell to the 'Gold Service' with injector cleaning along with a few other things, the normal rubbish. I said "if it needs doing then why didn't Ford include it in the standard service schedule" and they stopped the charade then. They also offer to wash the car, its just a basic hand wash, but for the non-motoring enthusiast people it's a bonus that they probably like.
  3. Maybe not that extreme but definitely the FPV and Performance non-FPV (XR6T and G6ET) need at least factory optional 9". It would really help the traction issues without blowing Ford's ever dwindling development budget.
  4. Does the same apply to the Falcon? Mine seems to have slipped out to at least a dozen clicks now
  5. When I went looking for my G6ET, the responses varied from outright ignoring me (I was 20, almost 21 at the time), I had a couple who shadowed me, obviously thought I was shifty and worried I'd do something to the cars and then there were the two who basically made a bee line for me. Both of them were older males (at least 40+) and when I commented on it, both had similar replies along the lines of never ruling out a potential customer. I guess age and experience is what is required sometimes. In the end I actually felt sort of guilty for the guy who I didn't buy it off, out of the eight dealerships, there were only two that were any good.
  6. Beeping a learner is a bit rough, he probably knew he got it wrong and beeping would have just stressed him out. I know when I was starting out, I'd always freak that I'd do something wrong and then I'd get hit, beeped, cut-off, etc. After about 20 hours I got used to it all but in the first 20 hours, something like that would have given me the frights. Just saying from a Learner's perspective (and the Dad being over protective), not defending what the guy did. Anyway, my pet hate is truck drivers three (or four on one occassion) abreast. Even if the road is 70, it's common courtesy not to take up all three lanes and have a race to see who can reach the next set of lights the slowest. Happens quite often on King Georges Road heading to and from the M5 and Homebush section.
  7. Maybe we should we feel lucky that Ford doesnt have the money to put in these fancy safety systems...
  8. You know, I had actually been waiting for the day you'd say this. Your company seemed to be laying off people every six months and your team was getting smaller and smaller so I thought it was only a matter of time. Hopefully you get something new quickly
  9. On Sunday I did my standard check of the tyres after getting fuel and the left rear had lost 10psi. I filled it up and checked again this afternoon and it's gone down 3psi already. After a bit of back and forth to rotate the tyre, it seems I've managed to pick up a screw/nail It's about 3-4mm diameter on the head. It's embedded in one of the raised tread bits. So my question is, can anyone recommend a good tyre place around Baulkham Hills/Parramatta/Castle Hill etc to get it checked (and if necessary replace it)? I know everyone recommends Tempe Tyres for buying tyres if I do need new ones but I'm hoping they can just plug it, the rear's still have over half the tread left...
  10. I thought the Capped Price Servicing was set by Ford Aus? It's currently $375 for Turbo's I think.
  11. I'm in, anyone else from the Hills area going?
  12. Us NSW people have issues. In six months, we've struggled to even meet once. The Mexicans have almost weekly meetups, lol.
  13. I saw ODYSSY on the M4 this morning as I joined at the James Ruse Dr on ramp. It's a RSPEC GT-P in black with red highlights, looks good in the flesh and sounded nice when it went past.
  14. I went for the Cashmere and aside from being a good combo with Black, it definitely helps with keeping it cooler during hot days and as others have said, it's easy to keep clean. Definitely go for black mats though, the carpet gets dirty so easily even with my black mats, just the bits of dirt that end up on it and are a pain to get out.
  15. I thought the only differences was the larger turbo and larger injectors? I was of the understanding that the pistons, rods, etc were all the same?
  16. Thanks mate. It's not too bad, mostly paint missing on the bumber and the reverse sensors need fixing.
  17. Awesome video Gaz, looking forward to next year's cruise.
  18. My car getting reversed in to :f*ckyou: Anyone know a good repairer in the Sydney area for our cars? I have choice of repairer (and the other persons details recorded).
  19. Can anyone recommend a good repairer in Sydney area. My poor car got rear ended :(
  20. In this guys case there is definitely a problem. I think he only got 10? Years for rape after he'd been let out for manslaughter? There's something gone wrong there cause its obvious he hadn't reformed.
  21. When do you get time to prepare all those meals, lol? I wake up at 6:30 for work and don't get home till say 5:00 (sometimes a little earlier). It'd be like work, get home and spend hours preparing meals :/
  22. Nizpro is good gear but do you know who tuned it? If it was some backyard tuner there's no guarantee they didn't take shortcuts. Also, it's a built motor, what is it rated for? If he's maxed it out, like a stock motor, you have a higher risk of breaking things.
  23. I wasn't there so I'm only going off what was reported but that's interesting. Based off the CCTV (some of which is on YouTube) he was always running away from them in what was probably a drug induced psychosis. Being in the drugged state he was (which was his own fault though) I'm not surprised he panicked when hit with tasers and capsicum spray and batons. I'm not defending the guy for taking drugs either, he was a moron for doing it (from what I've read it was a reasonable dose) and at the end of the day he paid for that high with his life. If he hadn't taken the two packets of biscuits he probably would never have crossed paths with the Police.
  24. I really respect you ratter, I would bring my car to you in an instant if I lived in Victoria so don't take it the wrong way, but I will never support the Death Penalty for any crime. There have been too many people already sentenced to death and found innocent at a later date and a large number on death row found innocent luckily for them before the sentence was carried out. It is never OK to kill even a single innocent person. Only recently (as in several months ago) I read of a black man in the US who had been pardoned while on death row. He had been sentenced to death around 20 years ago at the age of 17. He was found guilty or raping and murdering two prostitutes. The entire time he maintained his innocence. An elderly white man living nearby had a guilty conscience and admitted his crimes on his deathbed including the location of a third victim. Now, you can say the guy was targeted because he was black and lived on the streets (which he probably was, back then it must have been the black guy right?) and that times have changed but that doesn't mean it won't happen again. I agree the cost is an issue, but as above, how would you feel if your wife/girlfriend was wrongly sentenced to death and found innocent after she was dead? I know things like child rape and serial killers are huge crimes but, and the next two paragraphs will undoubtedly be controversial, I think a lot of people become emotionally involved in these cases and this is what drives the desire for death penalties. If a Judge sentences a person to death who is later found innocent, would you find it acceptable to then sentence the judge to death for murder? If yes, how likely is it then that anyone would be sentenced to death? If no, why should there be no penalty for that particular form of killing? For those outside NSW, you may not be familiar with it, but earlier in the year, a young Brazilian man was killed by a combination of excessive tazering and asphyxiation by multiple police officers. At no point did he pose a threat to anyone other than himself (he was tazered from behind) I firmly believe at least the primary offender should be charged with manslaughter for his death. Why should police and judges be indemnified for killing someone? Everyone has opinions and this is just mine and my reasoning. Anyone else care to share?
