  1. How much are you willing to pay for the plates, lol? I would have got POOKEY except its $440 bloody dollars a year
  2. The tail lights look good, how hard we're they to install? Did you have to remove the whole assembly on each side and take it apart? Personalised plates in NSW are crap too, $440 per year if I wanted POOKEY in white text on a black plate. Glad you kept the car too, it's a good all round G6ET.
  3. Lol, I've been 'missing' for several months. I gave up trying to read through three months of OT
  4. I won't keep clogging up the other thread, so I'll post it here. It just came to my mind cause the FG MkII has LED lights down there which would be a pain to move as opposed to the fog lights if it needed to be mounted there. I had one other question, what happens with the Warranty on the transmission if it's still under Warranty? Is it classified as a Mod or it's OK (I know on our old EB and AU it was fine to add transmission coolers and warranty was unaffected)?
  5. So FG stock tyres are 245/35/19 Are the following fine on stock rims without rubbing? 245/40/19255/35/19255/40/19If 255/40/19 is fine, I'm guessing it would be slightly more comfortable and slightly better grip from being wider? I plan on getting Nitto Invo's if it matters.
  6. Just finished eating lunch...no tasty chocolate though
  7.   I think he's saying that the cutting is likely to affect the structural integrity of the chassis.   Personally, I'm inclined to garee with ratter, cutting any major part of the car is going to weaken it. In the event of a serious head-on collission, that bar would probably not crumple as it had in the laboratory and it could potentially stuff up the timing of the air bags going off for example. I'm happy to be proved wrong if someone's bothered to have an engineer certify it, but I would put my money on the strength of the bar being weakened.   On to the XCal 3 and I'd be in for a group buy if the price was good. What sort of discount are they looking at?
  8. I'm O- so my donated blood can be donated to every other blood group (but I can only receive O- in return). Only around 5% of the population is O- so if you have that blood type they love getting you to donate.
  9. It's gone now, lol. I got the windscreen replaced, NRMA even gave me a genuine Ford one.
  10. Put me down as a definite Yes for this, I loved last year. I'll do Monday again and split with you guys like I did last year near the Hume Hwy. And I'll remember not to take the dirt road 'shortcut' this time, lol. Are you going to do Monday as well? Last year was awesome, looking forward to this years. You mean the pace at the rear of the pack Tab I have spare seats from Sydney if anyone doesn't have a car and still wants to go on the Cruise
  11. At least that's a small amount of positive news. How does this affect you bunna? Are you in manufacturing or design and engineering? As an aside, I saw a GT500 near Arncliffe yesterday, couldn't have been very old at all. It sounded awesome and looked good too so if that's what ends up being the replacement, I'd buy one of them. Didn't get a photo, was busy stuffing around filling out the log book while driving, haha.
  12. Yeah, I noticed that too. I don't think they realise that without the subsidies they would have shut up shop earlier. First they complain about Expensive Daewoo and Ford being given subsidies. Then when they no longer want them, they demand they repay them...the irony is strong. There hasn't been any confirmation yet on the expected 2014 refresh of the lineup. I'd be betting that instead of a new FH model it will just be the FG MkIII now.
  13. Unfortunately, I don't think there are any 18-inch wheels that will fit over the Brembo's
  14. Wakefiled sounds good. If we get enough interest for Private to be viable, I'd look at collecting the money prior to the event at $210 each. That way, if we get 20 'deposits' we book and the fee is covered. Each person would keep paying the $210 and on the day, if we got more than 20, we'd refund people the extra (so if 30 booked and attended it would be $140 each so you'd get a $70 refund). If less than 20, at least the organiser isn't left out of pocket.
  15. Assuming it's a $95K base price, you're looking at around $110K drive away after all on road costs and assuming no discount. That includes the LCT, Stamp Duty, Rego, CTP, etc. LCT would be $10,760.10, Stamp Duty of $3,850.00 plus the Rego and CTP, another $1000-1500. Realistically, I think most people will be paying just shy of $100K. Dealers will cut them a $10K discount to get it under $100K and that psychological barrier.
  16. If you perform engine mods and/or a Tune or anything other than a catback exhaust, Ford can rightly refuse Warranty on any of the following parts: EngineAssociated components such as drive belts, radiator, etc.TurboAssociated components such as intercooler, piping, etc.CatExhaust (obviously, seeing as you've replaced it with a different part)Transmission + Clutch if ManualDiffDriveline (input shafts, output shafts, etc.)AxleSuspensionYou could make the list longer but they should be obvious why. If you increase your cars power, each of those things listed above will be negatively impacted. Your suspension will take a beating because when you floor it, the force (particularly on the rear suspension parts) will be greater than they were designed for. However, it obviously won't affect the warranty on your seats or your ICC or air conditioning and whatever. I also believe your brakes and rotors, lines, reservoir, etc would still be covered. The exception on the Transmission side is if you get the ZF Milkshake. It's a known issue and there have been people on here with cars over the 3 year warranty period, with plenty of mods, who've got it replaced when it suffered the ZF Milkshake. Not guaranteed but you'd be able to fight for it and get it reasonably easy compared to say a new Turbo.
  17. I'm glad to hear that. I really like the F6E and GTE, I would look at getting one of them to replace my G6ET in 2016 as they cease production if I'm in a financial position to do so. I was feeling lost deciding what to do instead when I read the post saying they were gone, lol
  18. I think something like the photos one at the Rocks would be good.
  19. Surely they could pay something though, even a discounted $200 price or something for the employees.
  20. As far as I know, it's not something that happens much. I certainly haven't heard of it on a new car. We should make you the 'Newbie Moderator' Rootster, lol
  21. The throttle progression is actually pretty linear. The thing that causes you to think it's not is that their needs to be load on the engine as well as RPM to get the Turbo going. With a light right foot, the engine doesn't load up much and will stay below 2500RPM so the Turbo never really kicks in. Once you hit the point where it spools easily, that's when it all of a sudden comes alive. If you drive a SC GS or GT, you'll notice it's much more linear because it doesn't have the engine load to spool feeling.
  22. Congrats Terence. What extra stuff does the LE have?
  23. Yeah, it freaked me out the first time it came on. I got my car in the middle of winter and on some random day in early December, there was this odd vibration and noise. Turns out it was the fans, after moving along a bit instead of being in stop-start it stopped and after it happening on other days, I eventually worked it out, lol. It seems each car is different too. When I was on the Snowy Cruise, my fans never came on even when stopping (low ambient temperature but we were working them hard), as did at least 1 other car. However, other cars the fans would be on and stay on when the ignition was cut. Some only for 30 seconds but one car would stay on for quite a while, at least 60 seconds.
