  1. I'm pretty sure the FG's do have the stronger valve springs.
  2. Just make them an offer if you want it. The worst they can do is say no. Make sure you get it checked by a mechanic first though. Some of the car yards can be dodgy.
  3. Don't worry if you don't get it. There are 5-10 auto BF II come on to car sales every week so it won't take long for another one to pop up And, the longer you wait, the cheaper they get
  4. Obviously each car is different, but I've seen BF II with 75,000 km for $15,000
  5. Looks pretty good... Most people seem to get 240-260 rwkw stock.
  6. I had this same question (answered on another forum before I found this one) and looking back it was the right decision to wait till I'm off my P's. Getting an N/A now and adding the turbo or swapping the car for a turbo car is going to cost you money over the long run. You will come out better if you just wait the 2-3 years and drive whatever you have around (I 'inherited' an EB when the rents upgraded). I have about 7 months left on my green's and then I'll be looking at getting a T.
  7. Ah, cool. Thanks mate. Shows how much I still have to learn, I thought the long block might have been a bigger version of the stock engine or something, lol.
  8. What's the difference between short block and long block?
  9. There's people who have ot run out G6ET for low $40's and the post above mine is a new XR6T for $47 k so it seems accurate to pay $39 k for a run out XR6T.
  10. Only get the loan when you've got a deposit from seine for your car, otherwise you could end up stuck with two cars and paying heaps of interest on a loan you didn't have to take out.
  11. Is it a MkI or a MkII? If it's a MkI, you'll probably only get around the $10-12K mark. If it's MkII then probably somewhere around $11-14K for trade in. If you sell it privately you'll be more likely to get closer to your $18K figure. Your never gonna get that from a dealer though.
  12. Where do you get 110 octane fuel from? Is it race grade or is it an ethanol blend or something? Nice car you've got there. I don't have 50k lying around at the moment though...
  13. Over the last six weeks, 98 has varied between 149.9 and 160.9, so its been pretty much the same. In fact it's 162.9 now, so it hasn't gone up like a lot of people's has.
  14. Let me know to. It'd be an awesome buy
  15. They look awesome together especially with the Dark Agents
  16. This one's awesome. It even gets playtime on radio as well I must say I haven't heard of alot of the older ones though.
  17. What sort of money would a brand new XR6T go for at the moment? Car Sales has them at between $47,500 and $52,500 for 2010 Demo's Ford still don't list RRP or any sort of price for their cars on their site The Bogan special Redline is good value if you compare it to these prices...
  18. Its all good The thing that drew me in was the pic in the paper. It took me a few seconds to realise they'd replaced "Ford" with a Dodo on the logo I've only ever driven Ford's, even our work cars are Focus's.Hopefully they keep the I6T in whatever form the Falcon takes
  19. This is the only Forum I've posted this on... I also read about the 1500 Falcon sales in the newspaper on the weekend. That means they're on track for only 18,000 Falcons this year, down from 30,000 last year The saving grace for Ford is that unlike Holden, they are actually making money. As of the end of this year, there should be the 4 cyl EcoBoost, I6, I6T and Coyote V8. The FG is indeed a good car, but it would be a good opportunity for Ford to release a model upgrade to the FG to boost sales, especially when Expensive Daewoo have just released their Series II update and can now claim to have the "newer" car. I read a post on here from a couple of years back talking about Ford switching to a Direct Injection V6 in 2012, but I haven't heard anything else about that one.
  20. Yeah, I agree. I see way more Expensive Daewoo ads than Ford. The ones I do see for Ford are all about running out the 50th Ann models where as Expensive Daewoo are advertising about how good their Series II is. I also had a friend who was looking at the XR50T and the dealer only budged $500 of the RRP. In Drive, Expensive Daewoo almost always have double page ads at the front and Ford have a single page in the last half of Drive that half the readers probably don't get to. I'm personally not too fussed if the XR8 doesn't come back as I would never have bought one, but I would be annoyed if I was after one. As long as they keep the I6T for at least another 12 months, I'm happy I'll never buy a front wheel drive Falcon "Tauras". I'd buy a Late model camira before I bought one of them. Hopefully Ford don't need to male a mistake twice to learn a lesson. If the keep it as rear wheel drive based on the Mustang I'm fine with that.
  21. Well I hope it's all wrong. I don't want to get to the end of the year looking at buying the T and find they don't sell them anymore. Hopefully the launch of the EcoBoost, Liquid Injection LPG and Coyote V8 will push sales up in the second half of the year.
  22. As per the title, I saw this article in the news paper today. http://m.smh.com.au/drive/motor-news/is-the-falcon-going-the-way-of-the-dodo-20110304-1bh3k.html Talks about the declining sales of large cars but in particular the Ford Falcon.
  23. When the tanks almost full, there's not much room for the fuel to move around in. As it starts to empty, the fuel can slush back and forth as you accelerate, decelerate and turn. The only accurate way to check your fuel is to park the car on a flat surface, let the fuel settle and then check the gauge.
  24. You get used to it when your young. They wanted $1850 for an XR6 N/A (same excess, driver, etc.) and it costs $1010 for Dad to insure our old '93 Falcon with me and my younger sister listed as drivers. If I decided to drive a less powerful car, I'm sure the premium would be less, but my heart's set on a T once I get my Black's after having a drive of a mate's XR6T. We have Ford Focus's and Hyundai i30's at work and they are slugs compared to the Falcon (which has nothing on the T). Just have to decide between a XR6T or G6ET... Insurance for the G6ET is cheaper than the XR6T as well. The woman at NRMA said its cause the XR has a "sports car" premium added that the G6 doesn't have.
