  1. I'm pretty sure the FG XR6 came with the 6-speed auto as an Option, I didn't think there was a 5-speed option. Somebody with more knowledge should be able to confirm this...
  2. Nope, no pictures. I saw a G6ET driving along in Vic a few weeks back and the front looked a bit weird but I just figured it was a modded one (with an ugly bra, lol). Then I saw the wheels pics and it all looked familiar. Until then, I had no idea it was the new one
  3. The new FGII G6ET looked OK (even though the bonnet had a silly cover on it). It looks like it will get LED Daytime Running Lights. It should have had them in '08 It's looking more and more like a good 21st Birthday Present to myself
  4. Valve float is referring to the valves located inside the motor.
  5. Bahaha, you're much tamer than you use to be. I thought this quote from you was good: And that Rogercordia thread is bloody awesome, I couldn't stop laughing.
  6. That's an awesome job you've done there, the Black/White combo looks awesome. The only bit I don't like (maybe its just the lighting) is the silver around the fog lights. The chrome around the Windows and Headlights is good but there's too much around the fog lights... On the subject of G6ET mods, I saw one in Seduce around Strathfield yesterday afternoon with an XR spoiler added on...
  7. You should become the "Forum Donations Promoter". You've convinced several people (including me) to become Donating Members
  8. Having been listed as a write-off, there's no way I personally would touch the car with a ten foot pole. In relation to your question about whether the. Door would be economical to repair, you don't know whether there was damage to the pillars, seats, floor or any other stuff that would have increased the cost.
  9. The 6 speed completely owns the 4 speed is the general consensus. It's both stronger and more fuel efficient. The 6 speed is the ZF box so Google that and it's the 6HP26 from memory, you'll see how good they are. I have no idea of the model number for the 4 speed though.
  10. Make sure you post back his responses...
  11. Possibly early next year when they release the EcoLPi engine but that's the only possible date where something is scheduled to happen at the moment...
  12. These laws have been too long coming
  13. I trust your knowledge more than the newspapers, so thanks for updating. I'm sure there's been quotes from Ford exec's saying the XR8 is coming at the end of the year though
  14. It looks like our Barra I6 is safe at least until 2016 Ford's Big-Six thrown Five-Year Lifeline There's still more years left of spirited driving in the Falcon's
  15. Saw these three over the last week. Wednesday 27 April: Travelling City Bound along the M4 Black FPV F6 310 - FPV 17T Thursday 28 April: Travelling West Bound along Parramatta Road Black FPV F6 310 - BVC 43P Tuesday 3 May: Travelling City Bound along Parramatta Road then Right into Wentworth Road Sunburst FPV GT - GT 0334
  16. The Falcon will last at least for another two years at a minimum. The EcoLPi comes out in June/July this year and it wouldn't make financial sense to bring it into a car that is being scrapped only a few months later. My personal belief is that the "FG II" (or whatever it will be called) will be released officially later this year to coincide with the EcoLPi (June/July), Miami V8 return in the XR8 (September/October) and the EcoBoost (January 2011). This would last Ford for another two years or so at least. Also, Ford have been bragging about bringing the EcoBoost to Falcon for ages so it would be a bit of a back flip to then can it.
  17. Most people get between 240 and 260 stock on the FG's. There have been a couple get very close to 270 stock as well.
  18. I'd hazard a guess that it's something to do with the diff
  19. Well, going by your own example, your in the upper range
  20. Good effort JETSNOT. Take the cooler advice... Had a good laugh reading through some of the replies as well, LOL
  21. Isn't that a lot of work though? Have they contested the amount you payed for the repairs? Also, I guess this only works if you have money to pay for the repairs initially...
  22. Good on you for saving 30 grand at 16 yo What job did you have to get that sort of money though?
  23. A friend's father has an Audi A6 and it has the predictive/adaptive Cruise Control as well. it also has a radar and gyroscope so when you approach a hill, the radar "sees" it and will begin to accelerate early. The Manual says it then uses the gyroscope to judge the gradient to adjust throttle and to detect when the hill is levelling out so you don't speed up as you level out (seeing as the radar is facing the sky). That plus pedestrian avoidance systems will be the new "standard" equipment by 2020 same as all cars now have ESC and airbags (not counting Chinese crap).
