  1. Gary, Sam and I finished up the Cruise with a run up Mt Buffalo after coming through Falls Creek. We split up at Myrtleford at about 2:30 PM. I'm having dinner at Yass, still 270km to go for me......
  2. Just stopped off at Mt Hotham for a photo
  3. And the cars all packed for tomorrow
  4. Ah-ha, I see what you did there Bunna At least we can hope then.
  5. I'm referring to RRP, FG MkII is still listed as $50k drive away. If they've already paid for the parts and they're lying around, why wouldn't they?
  6. I can definitely voich for the headroom too, the FG headroom is much better than a BA-BF
  7. I read a little while ago a statement from Ford that the new one will be very similar exterior wise but will include a host of new tech inside, basically the MyFord Link system thing from the US. It actually sounded like a pretty good upgrade, inside tech wise. Also, I agree about the motor and Brembo stuff. It will quite likely be offered as upgrade options, even just to get rid of spare parts and because they can charge a much larger margin on extras than as a bundle. Think about it, an XR6T retail is $50k and an F6 is $60k retail but as individual upgrades they could probably end up with an "XR6T with F6 Upgrades" that ends up costing $65k if you opted for every single upgrade. $6k for engine $4.5k for Brembo's $1k for wider wheels etc, etc. If they offer a G6ET with the F6 motor, I think I'll be forced to upgrade in 2016, lol.
  8. What does the ICC Firmware Upgrade do? My only problem is I don't get Caller ID on the screen with my iPhone, do you know if it fixes this (MkII June 2012 Build)?
  9. There's always the Snowy Mountain Cruise for anyone looking for something to do this weekend
  10. OK, for NSW people living in Sydney or comming from the North (I assume you'll come down with us Tab?) : We'll be departing from Mt Annan Shell at 11:30 AM taking the Narellan Rd on ramp to the Hume Hwy South Bound. The trip to Jindabyne is around 415km and we're looking at 4 hours 20 mins wihout breaks. We can stop either at the Southbound BP Service Centre at Marulan (approx 12:30-40 PM) or somewhere in Goulbourn off the Hume Hwy (approx 1:00 PM) for Lunch and Toilet Break. It's another hour on from Goulbourn before we'd reach the next 'Lunch' stop (pretty much Canberra). We will then continue down the Hume Hwy and take the Federal Hwy to the left towards Canberra. We will stop in the suburbs of Canberra somewhere to meet up with the ACT people and for a Toilet Break at around 2:45 PM before continuine down the Monaro Hwy towards Jindabyne We should arrive in Jindabyne at about 4:45-5:00 PM. For those in ACT/Canberra, the fastest route looks to be taking the Majura Rd Exit off the Federal Hwy, travel for a bit and Straight on to the Monaro Hwy and past the suburbs of Fyshwick and Narrabundah which will take us on down to Jindabyne or alternatively we go through the centre of Canberra (and get stuck in afternoon traffic). However, if you live north/south/somewhere else that's more convenient to meet up with us then fire away
  11. Last year we left at 12:30PM for Tumut, we're going to Jindi this year though so we'd need an earlier departure. Jindi is an extra 50 mins over Tumut so based on last year, I think an 11:30AM or 12PM time seems appropriate.
  12. Did you get called to the UTS Evacuation ms700?
  13. We'll have to be extra careful south of the border. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/2013/10/15/08/42/vic-launches-hidden-mobile-speed-traps*
  14. Leave with work is booked, now to make bookings with the Motel's
  15. You could say the same thing about one of the sets on the VF looking a lot like the G6ET rims...... Everyone copies everyone else these days

Whats the differences between the FG F6 and FG XR6T engines?
  17. Where do you get one of these Tap King things from?
  18. Really? I would have thought sitting at the back was better or over the wings. Reason being the back would suffer the least g forces in a front collision and the wings are the sturdiest part of the structure in the event of 'belly flop' of some sort.
  19. OK, that's good, it was just the bottom row of fin things that were bent, I wasn't sure if that was bad or not. $7k was a worse case, the guy said $4-$5k then added as an afterthought 'maybe up to $7k if you've bent something underneath that we can't see'. I was told that a new front quarter panel would be around $1100 incl labour, painting and blending, etc. that alone is the excess, then there was the headlight assembly (I nearly died, Ford quoted me almost $500 for that plus extra for globes) and front bumper and grill and the plastic guard stuff under the Intercooler/radiator that stops rocks hitting them (its bent and cracked in several places. Then I also need a new tyre, the right hand front keeps losing around 7PSI per day, I've taken it off and done the soapy water and can't find the hole/cut but regardless it needs replacing too. What size wheels do you have? I thought they were more expensive than that.
  20. Yeah, I thought about the airbags afterwards. It's going to be going through Insurance now, I took it to a couple of places and they both took one look at it and said I'd be better off going through insurance than paying for it myself. Both estimated it would cost between $4k and $7k to repair with genuine parts.
  21. Lol, ironic that you say that, there was an unmarked green HWP car with lights going that had pulled a guy over not 500m up the road from Midas.
  22. I'm 21 and my G6ET costs just over $1,400 (Full Comprehensive with Windscreen Option) with an $800 excess (plus another $400 age excess for any under 25 driver including me). I live near Parramatta in NSW. I actually found it was only the mainstream ones who were willing to insure it for a reasonable dollar value or at all. Basically, NRMA, AAMI, Allianz came out reasonably well, all would cover me. The only non-mainstream that would cover me was Just Car and Shannon's would too but their premium was over $7,000. Of the non-mainstreams I tried, I actually got given (deadly serious) a quote of $14,500 or thereabouts for Comprehensive from one insurer. However, other than this absurd one, the Shannon's one and Just Car, no other mainstream insurer would touch me with a ten foot pole. I even tried Woolworths and the quote was OK and when I rang up to enquire what the go was with quotes the guy got all panicked because it should have auto rejected all turbo cars, lol.
