  1. Didnt you run that time in Qld?
  2. About 26psi
  3. Yeah definitely had high hopes, but when it's all riding on one pass - which was all we were ever really likely to get - then it is asking a bit much. It shouldn't be too long now and we will get back in the mix. There are a couple of tough NSW cars coming through development so I expect it wont be long before NSW steps it up big time. Jules - daily driving duties are pretty much done with now, the car is pretty much only going to be used for racing.
  4. Jules - things are coming along slowly but surely. Once we get the cage in we can start to think about really winding her up and seeing how long the rear end and gearbox last. Then its off to the 4-link and 9 inch. Gotta try and get NSW back on the map. You should hear the car in the flesh - it's off it's head! Its actually a slightly older engine pic - now that we have got rid of the standard ecu completely it is much neater, and we have a new set of coil packs which are a bit beefier now.
  5. Nice to meet some of you guys out there last night. The track was pretty average after the 3 week break from FUCHS nationals and the dust storm. We launched on a soft 6 pounds and when the boost really kicked in it just spun 1st though 3rd. We could have pushed to squeeze in another run but figured without some track prep the car was just going to do the same thing again, probably worse with a harder launch. So we packed it up and the car goes off the get the cage and chute at the end of next week. We should be back racing in the next 3-4 weeks after the car gets through the ANDRA tech inspection. New PB was good - 10.2 @ 139mph I have attached a couple of pics in case your interested. Phil
  6. Sincere condolences to you and your family and friends. It is a tragic time and as Brian says - too young to leave this world.
  7. I should finally be heading out for a run to see if everything holds together
  8. Great result guys! Very impressive.
  9. Ive heard the track will only be prepped like a Wednesday street meet, so will likely wait until next weeks Freaky Friday to roll out the car. Good luck to everyone racing.
  10. It would be good to see you Mick - its been far too long mate!
  11. Yeah - we are super confident in the engine package - that's what we have been working on for the last 6 months. The challenge is the driveline and rear end. The car is still running the standard rear end and is full weight so there will be some stresses back there that may not be able to cope....but there is only one way to find out eh. Im not gunna talk it up too much until we get some times down, otherwise its all just talk. The car is running a GT47 now.
  12. that's a pretty fair assumption - It will be a question of how far into the nines that will be interesting. The mexicans have been leading the pack for too long now!
  13. If my car is tuned by then I will see if I can get it down there for a few shakedown passes. Its been a year since the last run. Much has been done since then
  14. Well done mate. Street Fords is a good mag - I remember when mine was in the mag - it is a few months till it comes out, but you get a disc with all the photos from the shoot. Awesome quality and good fun! Enjoy...
  15. Oustanding effort Dave. Getting some weight out these cars can make a huge difference. Keep it up, its more fords in the 9's.
  16. Hey Pat, yeah still with Rigoli's, should be hitting the dyno and track in a couple of weeks. Got the new 47 strapped on her this week . the car does need a good wash after sitting in the workshop for close on a year..... Hopefully I can get her all tip top for this photoshoot!
  17. Im keen - if my car is going at the time......
  18. I will start a new thread on it so I dont disrupt this one - but simple answer is that the flex plate was loose, so pulled out the motor just to make sure all was working well, then got carried away with head and cams while the head was off (some pretty serious work as we want it to rev pretty hard) and then sold turbo and manifold to go bigger turbo. Should be an interesting new combo - certainly won't be anything anyone has ever done before of that I am sure... stay tuned!
  19. Engines back in, just need a new manifold for the turbo and we will run a couple of test passes. Still havent sorted the cage yet, so some work to do there after we have a test to see how the new combo performs. Should be running regularly by the middle of the year. The GTECH boys are just getting further and further ahead, so I am keen to get competitive again.
  20. Congratulations boys - you just keep stepping it up....... its a real credit to you and your workshop. GTECH definitely are out front by a mile at the moment. Hopefully I can come out again soon and put NSW back on the map again!

    My Error

Glad to see you are ok Marcus. Its the risk you take eh, when your havn some fun.
  22. I think Hypertune actually make these plenums from what I've heard.
  23. There was a black ute with a turbo 400 box that was wearing one of the very few APS plenums that C&V tuned some time back. Not sure whatever happened to that car.
  24. As far as I know there was only ever 1 or 2 of these units in existence. They never went into production past the test units. There are units available now that would be as good if not better than this unit. The additional fuel rail would make tuning considerably more complicated and expensive to get right. I wouldnt be counting on ever seeing one of these. But give APS a call and let us all know what they say!
  25. Still no cage yet John - it is planned for once the engine goes back in the car with all the new bits and pieces. You never know, we may get a run in with the new setup before the cage - just to see how the combo goes. It will be a big year for the car this year - it has been too long without any racing. Sorry about the off topic posts Tocchi
