I know - super impressive eh! It is an absolute weapon and just keeps going faster. Sweet mate - same here. I am hoping we will get some even better ones in the near future! -

Shall do Buff. Yeah - its been a while since we caught up. Well past time we did. Would be good to see DBOSS too! Plan will be for Dom to drive the car at Jambo and then when we get back, all things being good with the car, I will start driving from the next meeting in Sydney. We will turn it down a bit for me to get going and work my way up. -

A photo of how the launches are coming along. It launches pretty hard but unfortunately there is a transfer of weight that is causing the tyres to blow out. It is something we are working on now for Jambo. There is also a cool video by rotorg33k on youtube. Link is below and my car is at about the 5.40min mark. Just after that you see Dom roll his corolla at about 180mph which was not cool... http://www.youtube.com/user/rotorg33k?blend=1&ob=5#p/u/0/7-IK-AxTxe0 -

Thanks Mick. It will be better when I can get behind the wheel myself. Atleast the car is finally getting there. Hopefully with some suspension tweaks we will dive into the 8's and keep the competition alive -

Hey John, good to hear from you mate - it's been a while. Yep, I am keen as to get behind the wheel. We are trying to get the car to be consistent and run straight so it will be easier for me to get a handle on. There is a big difference from a high 10sec car to an 8 sec one so I will have to build my speed over a handful of meetings. I am just getting all my new safety gear sorted and am then good to go. The car should run well into the 160 mph zone so we should see some good times soon enough. Hope to see you at the track sometime. Glad to hear you still have your taxi also. They are hard to part with eh! -
Car went 9.1 @ 159mph today at WSID. Up to number three and climbing slowly I will post up the timeslip shortly.

Update: Car went 9.1 @159mph today at a test meeting. Conditions were slick and overcast. Dom from TRP has been driving the car and it is blowing the tyres out pretty badly off the launch. Unfortunately I couldn't be there today (driving back from snowboarding trip) but we needed to get the car out to check a few things so the boys took the car out for me. I have only just got my new ANDRA licence to drive the car so I am looking forward to getting out in it shortly. We would love to have it at Jambo in Qld at the end of August so will see how we go. Atleast we are making some progress in the car setup - but still a ways to go to get it to hook up the way we need to run into the 8's. Atleast this gets me into 3rd place on the BA list Phil -
I got a 2010 Triumph Thunderbird about a year ago. First cruiser I've had (last bike was a '99 R6) and it is probably one of the best going around. Handles well for a big heavy bike and has a great sound.

Nice looking car mate! Congrats and well done. Good luck for the 9 sec pass.

Yeah - the boys there now how to make a car get down the track - that's for sure. The turbo is the 88mm version. Boost comes on surprisingly quickly, but I wasnt able to be there when the guys tuned the car so dont have as much detail yet. I just wanted to get the thing out to the track. At this stage, yes we are using gas to get it up on the converter off the line, but it is only hooked up to the transbrake. The converter is pretty tight, so to save us sitting there all day till she stalls up, it is quicker and more effective to get her moving with a little giggle gas. We have plenty of power on tap so dont need the gas at this stage for the run. -

Cheers, No real specs page so far. I travel alot so, dont get as many opportunities to take progress pics as the build takes place. Basics are: Custom spec built motor Custom spec head Custom spec cams External oil pump setup GT47 turbo Process West intake plenum Haltech computer/ignition SMR 4-link rear end Strange 9" diff NRT 2-speed glide 28x10.5 rear slicks eboost2 Obviously there are a heap of other goodies that come into making the car go, but these are the main elements. There is not too much I can give away, most of the top 5 guys are not going to share that too publicly at this stage. The car is built by Tony Rigoli Performance (TRP) in villawood and tuned by Powertune/TRP. From what I can see, all the quick guys at the moment are running similar base set-ups - with all the little bits and pieces being either unique to the workshop or from Atomic. The car does run a couple of Atomic bits and pieces ie. billet flex plate, but the engine is all TRP's design. The mph will give you an indication of the power. With a change in diff gears and some fresher rubber we should see a good jump in extra mph next time out. -

Hey Spiro, Thanks mate. You of all people know just what goes into a build like this and all the blood, sweat and frustration trying to get it to actually come together. Car has the interior taken out and a kirkey race seat in it. The car has been retired from road going duties, so I didnt see a point in keeping the interior in it - especially when it all came out for some final adjustments when putting the 4-link in it. I did have the interior back in after the cage went in, but in the end I just saw it as an ongoing hassle to keep putting it in and then taking it back out again. The full dash is still in it - as is all the other internal bits - doors, electric windows, sunroof etc. I am fortunate in that the car is a dedicated race car now, so I can kind of do what I want with it. I recognise that some will say there is a reasonable weight saving by taking the interior out - I guess there is. The goal for now is to just go fast! Lets hope we can keep it going for a bit and see where we get too. -

Thanks boys. For any of the guys now running at this level and beyond with these heavy taxi's it is a real labour of love - and an expensive one at that. I am just in this to be going quick, but at some point try and find some consistency and reliability so that I can actually have some fun. Another quick peek for those that are interested. -

Sure will. We are pretty confident that with a decently prepared track we will keep going faster. I have had a lot of goals with the car over the years, being the quickest, just once - even if it was for a short time, has been my biggest goal. I can guarantee you will be hearing more about it in the near future..... -

Jules - once a Stooge - always a stooge. I thought it was discreet - the only stickers on the car. Its been a while since the old days just praying to do an 11sec pass that's for sure. Pulling up next to DBOSS and wasting his lazy V8's ass. I have some vid - its not the best stuff going but will give you a sense. I will try and load it up shortly. -
Thanks mate. Yeah it sounds pretty good hey - it is heaps quiter than usual as you have to run a muffler for street meets.
-
Finally managed to get back to the track after 18 months of developing the car. It was a cold night at WSID and the track was pretty slippery being a street meet. Best run of the night was 9.26 @ 155mph (timeslip is up in the BA/BF top 25 list) A few recent mods include: 4-link 9 inch rear end Two speed glide Haltech computer Tyres are 28 x 10.5 There is plenty more to come as we sort out the right diff gearing and 4-link set-up - so watch this space Phil

A new update for me! NSW Phillip Chain/CYC06T/T.R.P BA XR6 Sedan W.S.I.D 10.264 139.17 now goes to: 9.26 @ 155.11mph WSID 18 May 2011 More to come......

Not legal at most tracks
-
Convo pro's with a 3 3/8 inch backspace fit I think
-
That looks like the GTECH BA which is already the quickest, having run an 8.7. It is hard to tell from the video if it is that car or another. It is run at Calder so I am pretty sure it is the current record holder.

I just had my cage done by Racers Choice in Seven Hills. Excellent job, really tight fitting. Highly recommended. Welcome to Racer's Choice

If she is interested in sales and marketing you could think about a career in pharmaceuticals. Having been in the industry for over 10 years and worked through both the sales and marketing groups it is a pretty good life. I suggest sales in the first instance as most further jobs of Sales or Marketing management generally require you to have 'carried the bag'for a period of time. Just a suggestion if she is looking outside of clinical research and laboratory work.
