  1. No worries. My turbo manifold is similar to an ETM one, so I imagine our setups are pretty close. Not sure what the XY did and I try really hard not to focus on just how much money has gone into this project :omg: Atleast there has been a good pay-off with reaching the whole goal with the quickest XR6T in the country.
  2. 60 foot was 1.34 and mid track was 132mph. Final trap speed was 165.88 mph. Picked up 33 mph in the second half.
  3. My manifold is a custom job made by Speedfab. Unfortunately they finished up the business a little while ago. It is a single gate running Turbosmart 60ml gate.
  4. I will post up the timeslip tomorrow when I get to work and scan it in. The car runs on E85.
  5. Some video just up from FPVGHIA. We will have some more up from some different angles soon.
  6. Rivalry with the Mexicans is always good! I'd say the hole saw is really the only way to go as over time we will start to take out more weight. Im not sure how much the whole sunroof setup weighs, but we will definitely get rid of that sometime soon. Ideally we want go quicker, and the only real way is to lose the weight. Thanks Spiro. Yeah the 8.80 launches were pretty special. Dom got the best shot blown up poster size for me and gave it to me yesterday before we started racing. It didnt really come out of the hole the same way yesterday as we have been tinkering with the setup and some launch control options. Hopefully the video will tell the tale. We are definitely looking forward to Jambo with a really well prepped track to see if that can help even further. It sure had plenty of people talking at the track yesterday.
  7. Thanks mate - lets hope we can keep improving. It certainly pays to be with a workshop with the pedigree of TRP. Their experience in drag racing makes the world of difference - and even though we are learning something every time - there are a whole heap of basics that you just have to cover off if you really wanna go quick. It takes alot of time behind the scenes as you know, but the pay-off is there in the end.
  8. Yeah - figured it would Everything seems to be coming together. A properly set up 4-link was such a good investment for racing - but there is so many bits and pieces that have been critical to getting here. The dry sump and one serious radiator have been essential in trying to keep the motor safe. Its taken us a bit to get the gearing and tyre combo right. We may be able to improve in this area to get a bit more top end. Also the launches are coming on nicely, but also some room for improvement - 1.34 on this pass. If we can get down into the 1.2's we can pick up some more time. All in all it is not bad from a taxi
  9. Thanks John and Brian. Much appreciated. Its been an awesome day!
  10. Yeah - its a good question and probably not one that's gunna get answered just yet...... we gotta have some secrets and there is plenty of competition out there. I can say that we are running about 38 pounds of boost at the moment to get there.
  11. Thanks again guys for sponsoring the car! It is much appreciated and a real credit to the quality of your products!
  12. Thanks Mark! Marcy said he was gunna ring you and gee you up a bit. How good is his form, second pass in the corolla and he goes from a 25 on his first run to peeling off a 7.8. Outstanding. Yeah - it has been a goal for ages it seems, and it really was you running that 9.40 a little while back that really got me focussed. Its just heaps cool to have a few quick XR6T's up here in Sydney. I wont be getting too carried away - running a quick time just makes everyone that bit keener to go one better - but I sure will take it for today.
  13. Hell yeah. Hopefully more to come by the time we get to Jambo!!
  14. An awesome day at the track today - it just doesn't get too much better. After a shaky start with a boost issue on the first two passes due to a dodgy connection on the boost controller..... The car reeled off an 8.57@164mph Then went quicker again with a best pass of the day of 8.48@165mph. A huge thanks to Dom for everything and Rob for steering it today. The car looks to be consistent and strong, so its up to me to get behind the wheel now and see what I can do. After 4 years of hard work and perserverance we have brought the record home to Sydney. WOOHOO!! Timeslips and video to come - vids should be on youtube tomorrow. Best of all, the car is home in the garage in one piece. Time for a beer!
  15. If its any consolation it has taken me the best part of 4 years to get the car to where it is today. Big custom builds like this take a long time and believe me are never easy. They cost you twice as much (if not more than you plan to spend) and it is a long process with many pitfalls and perils. I haven't had much to do with Brad, but his shop is two doors up from TRP who build my car and he runs a very professional outfit. His engines are part of many of the big builds going around today and his customer service is highly regarded. Best of luck, but I would be making sure to give Brad a chance to sort this out.
  16. Bad news - Jambo has been cancelled for this weekend. :banghead: :banghead: It has been postponed until 1-2 October. Hopefully we will get a chance to take the car out to WSID sometime soon to get some practice in
  17. Awesome shots PJ and a big thanks to all the Plazmaman crew for supporting me with the car and some new parts. Lets hope for a good showing at Jambo and at least the pics give people a sneak peak into what the cars set-up looks like. I have been meaning to do that for a little while now The new gear definitely looks the goods. I only had a few photos Dom had sent me on my phone after the car got back to the workshop.
  18. Thanks Mark - lets hope it pays off. We can only try. Dom and the boys have been working round the clock to get the corolla back together after the crash. It will come back bigger and better than ever from what I've seen them doing. Should be even more impressive when it hits the track. When's your beast making a comeback?
  19. A big shout out of thanks to Plazmaman in Sydney for sponsoring the car with some new goodies..... Plenum Throttlebody Intercooler Will be good to see if any gains can be made over the previous set-up. Will head back to the dyno this week to touch up the tune before we head up to Jambo on Friday. I cant wait to see how we go at the meeting - the car is just going from strength to strength at the moment and Dom and I are really happy with the progress, especially with the way the car is launching. If we can get a bit more top-end out of it, we will see the numbers continue to improve. I will have an in-car camera set-up for Jambo so should be good for some good vids.
  20. Yeah I am watching that VL with anticipation of it doing something special. One of my good mates owns BOOSTN and so I have followed the VL scene a fair bit through him. I would love to get mine down into the low 8's. It is going to need to go on a diet to do that though I'd say.
  21. Not 100% sure mate. All that's been taken out is the interior seats. The IRS rear end was swapped out for the 4-link and the glide isnt as heavy as the original 4-speed. The sunroof is even still in.
  22. Thanks Spiro. Its a pretty cool video. I have just bought a video camera for in-car shots with a roll-bar mount. So should have some good ones from Jambo!!
  23. Thanks Spiro - all is going pretty well at the moment - lets just see if we can keep it going and take out the number one spot for a little while. Its been a goal for the last 4 years or so..........
  24. It goes alright eh Buffy?!?! I think its time to update the list now!
