  1. I think the Universe does agree that Rob is soft and black is MOST definitely the colour of CHOICE!
  2. So-Lean wont go - he is afraid of racing when its not at a set of traffic lights! I am looking forward to our next meeting Rob - see how well the 3-speed goes against you and junior! Inside word is the setup could shave up to 1/2 a second of ET's
  3. Laugh it up boys! No more gear box probs for me after this - he says with fingers crossed! Gunna have to change the diff ratio a little to make it better to drive on the highway! But seriously - after 4 efforts with the box in less than a year and over only 10,000 or so kms - gotta make a change - Dave at Kewish agrees. I will keep you posted!
  4. Have spoken today with Dave at Kewish about a C9. Think I am going to go down that path at this stage as it is a painful process to keep breaking things in the current box.
  5. I know I am thinking C9 at the moment! Will see how the box goes after mine gets the same treatment as Craigs
  6. And the Boss cleans up again!
  7. Rob, I dont ever remember seein your tail-lights???? I think you had your hand on the wrong gear lever that night!
  8. Rob, You will be happy to hear mine went last week as well. The box is coming back out and going to Kewish this week or next. I was just thinking to myself how long yours would last with your new power level. I think when we had a squirt the other week and mine was playing up that it was the last harrah for 2nd gear! Craig, I believe Dave will be giving mine the same treatment as yours. It seems my mid-range torque is possibly causing advanced band wear. I have only managed to get a about 10,000 kms out of the 2nd gear band so far - as you know - I have lost 2 already and only have 18,000 kms on the clock.
  9. I will be very keen for a WSID night soon! Especially as it starts to get cooler. My best at WSID is a 12.4 - which Im keen to improve upon.
  10. Great job Mr Rob, I think it is time for a run now - you, me and Junior! There will be no excuses on not racing this time at the Vic big weekend #2!
  11. Awesome job Rob.
  12. Thanks for the compliments Loopism and the honourable Mr Buf-Phoon..... You should be able to check it all out in the April edition of Street Fords!! Did the shoot the week before last! After a few more tweaks with my air intake - and bit of retuning this week - she shouldbe running even sweeter!
  13. The turbo to manifold ones are bolts with nuts I believe - and the manifold to block are just bolts.... The high temp fluctuations and the constant expansion and contraction of the metals are supposedly stretching the bolts. It has to mean leaking of boost - it also makes the car feel like their is alot of turbo lag as it takes the turbo longer to spool up. ANy permanent solution is welcomed! PS - My car was the one with the underbonnet bling u were talking about Chris
  14. Manifold to both head and turbo - mainly to turbo though. Know of a more permanent fix mick?? The guys at MRT are looking into bolts that can tolerate the temps better, Ford seem to say that they are tightening these bolts at one service, and replacing them at the next - any comments?
  15. Master G, I know what you mean about loose turbo bolts - I am having hell with my turbo manifold staying together tight - I spent a couple of hours tightening what I could on Saturday night before heading up to Newcastle. It still cost me 1 PSI, but wasnt as bad as it could have been.....
  16. Exhaust CAI Intercooler + Pipework kit Injectors Fuel Pump Edit Modified rear turbo housing (actuator)
  17. AFRS in the mid to high 13's
  18. Thanks Jeff, Most people seem to say they think MRT too expensive, or think they only know how to tune WRX's. You know me mate - when it comes to being a figurehead (aka STOOGE) for one shop - I aint into it, but since they have done all the work on the car, they are the only ones I feel I can comment on apart from hearsay and rumour. For those sydney siders out there - MRT is one of the options. Their edit work is up there with the best - but like all things good work can take a little more time. The cars progress so far is pretty good - it is running plenty rich ATMO so there is heaps more in it, but at this stage we are after a bit of engine life. When its rebuild time, maybe we will push it a bit more to see how it goes!
  19. Jen, A car with a CAI mod and exhaust mods - really isnt a stock car! Depends on your definition of stock I guess. The two stock cars that ran 211rwkw are both completely stock - but both are manuals so they will normally achieve higher figures than autos as there is less driveline loss of power.
  20. Just in case anybody is interested - my car ran up 305.6 rwkw on the dyno at the Newcastle dyno day. Jon (the owner/operator) said my car was the best tuned car out of the 18 or so T's that he ran up. Tunes from pretty much all of the major tuners Auswide. MRT are a little more expensive - but u get what you pay for - just ask the handful of guys who found out they were running dangerously lean!
  21. BUFFOON - 303.4 is damn close to 305.6.....ohhh that's right - yours is a manual! Just messin around - A great day - great drive and good fun - thanks to Eugene and Muzza for all their hard work! It was bloody hot.....but atleast a few of the guys got to see that their tunes were running dangerously lean..... Atleast no-ones went pop - well except maybe arthurs cluthch of flywheel or something! It was good to see DABOSS leave his signature on the road as we left!
  22. Roberts Rd Shell where???? Otherwise I will be at the toll booths at 6.30am too!
  23. Im keen to cruise up - was gunna give you a buzz Jeff to see what was shakin! Wouldnt mind being there for some brekky on the barbie!
  24. Im with Adam - there is no way a stock motor can hold that power - talk to YOUNGY - he blew his engine in a matter of weeks at 375rwkw and 20PSI boost. Anything over 15 PSI is walking a fine line on a stock motor. You can probably get to the 320-330rwkw with your list of mods. I have that power ATMO and I needed to get Nizpro injectors to flow enough fuel - 440's just werent cutting it.
  25. Next mods would be Injectors Fuel Pump Wastegate Actuator mod (if you dont already have it) and possibly Valve Springs for reliability - with the power you achieve, you will probably need a heavier duty clutch too!
