  1. I will be up for that.. Nothing like lining up and racing straight up. An elite class makes sense. Maybe based off time brackets?? Chasing times is hard work and can be very frustrating. It is cool when it works, but that needs a lot to come together all at the right time. Racing would be good. If any of the big guns are chasing a time slip then maybe they can just be separate and be demos for the crowd. Heaps of options.
  2. You are right about not many sub 10 second posters on here. I don't get on and post much these days With that much notice the TRP crew will be keen Id say and can bring a handful of sub 8 sec cars if you want to put on a display. Fingers crossed they will have a 7 sec falcon on the books as well real soon. By next year there will probably be a few of them I'd say. This will be awesome if it comes about. Well down Hiro on putting in the time to organise.
  3. I'd be in. The two fastest XR6T's are Sydney based and I'm not far from being back at the track to take a shot at getting the title back and pushing the boundaries. Sydney Dragway is doing a whole heap of really professional promotion of a bunch of different classes. Can't see why they wouldn't be into something like this.
  4. I have a 2-speed glide running over 1000 rwhp. It's doing just fine with over twenty 8 sec passes. Hard to beat that.....
  5. No worries Spiro. Credit and respect where it is due!! and Daniel and his team have done a great job and are deserving record holders. There is very few of us pushing the envelope in the drag racing sport with these cars and it's never an easy path breaking new ground. I have enjoyed my time at the top, more for the chance to get to learn how to drive a car pulling these sorts of numbers. While I haven't made as much progress as I would have liked, there is always time. Like you guys, for me and my team the job is not done yet on what we want to achieve so we hope there will be more to come. It is an exciting time having the two quickest cars based in NSW. Also that there is potential to take these cars even further in the near future is really cool. Hopefully we can line them up at the track sometime in the future. Fun times ahead.....
  6. We will be doing that you can be assured Jules. It's been tuff when my mechanic has been overseas for 5 months. The car has been in hibernation during that time. He is back now so we can get back to it.
  7. Well done to All the guys involved in this car. It takes a lot to get a car like this going this fast! Looks like we have a bit if work to do to catch up again now. The new benchmark is there and TRP and the team will get back down to business to see if we can step it up some more. Great work here. Congats.
  8. Stooge Hunting indeed oh Buff master.......and yessiree, a long build indeed and a happy reward sitting at the top spot. I still have big dreams to go quicker, but only time will tell. A big diet is going to be necessary to mve the old girl to quicker times I think. Such heavy cars. We will see what can be done over the winter and get her ready for some spring racing I'd say. I have been waiting for this list to be updated for a long time.
  9. 8.48 @165 mph for me. TRP BA falcon. No.1 for now......
  10. Yep - the cars fastest time is 8.48. Rob Rigoli ran that last year. I am not far off that now. I am still running 1.4 60 foots. I had for passes last night and ran - 2 x 8.8's, an 8.7' and then the 8.6. The car has run 20 odd 8 sec passes now and feels like it could run them all day long without any dramas. It is running really well and with a tune that is plenty safe - for this level at least. He he he
  11. Back out to the track last night to Freaky Friday. Car is performing well and I was able to improve to a best of 8.6 @ 163mph. Shouldn't be too long before getting under the 8.5 mark that I am looking for. I had four runs - two 8.8's, an 8.7 and an 8.6 to finish the night off nicely. The car keeps surprising people and that is heaps of fun in itself. There are plenty of meets coming up in the next month or so, so should be out as regularly as possible.
  12. Well done mate, awesome result and great persistence! Congratulations.
  13. Not sure if you talking to me or JetFPV, but I will be taking mine out again in a couple of weeks. Either full throttle friday or test n tune at WSID.
  14. Sweet! Im sure at some point I will start wondering what sort of times I could do if I had my motor and driveline setup in a much lighter car :o
  15. Very nice Steve. Looks awesome. Good luck with the rest of the build. I look forward to seeing the finished product and seeing your results. You will have a weight advantage by a far margin for sure! Should be alot of fun on both the street and strip.
  16. Yeah - very happy so far, but keen for more. Knowing that car can atleast go 1/2 second quicker, I cant get there soon enough. The only challenge with wanting to do really quick times driving to/from the track is these engines just seem to hold so much heat, and once they get hot they take ages to cool down, and it robs a heap of power. Plus you end up putting heaps of kms on a big dollar engine. I have no doubt you will be able to do it, having seen some of the gear you have for your car, so I look forward to seeing you get there. Its a mad rush.
  17. Thanks Mick. I dont know about King, but I'll take it for now eh! Its a far cry from when we used to all go cruising. You, me, Buffy, DBOSS, Saleen. Seems like it was a long time ago now.
  18. Yeah true that! A big thanks to Dom, Scotty and Nelson for getting me running and coaching me through getting the car down the track. The guys were pumped for me and I was glad I could do some justice to the work that everyone has put into the car. Its a big effort and not very often as rewarding as the last 6 months have been.
  19. A quick update.... Took the car out to WSID yesterday for a test n tune to get behind the wheel for the first time. It was a very hot and humid afternoon, but the track seemed good. It has been about 4 years since I got behind the wheel of the falcon and that was my last time taking a car down the strip so as you can imagine I was pretty nervous, especially knowing the potential of the car. We started off gently and I rolled off a 9.4 @ 161mph. I then went again and rolled off another 9.4 @ 161 mph. We then turned it up a little as I was starting to feel more comfortable and the car was running straight. We went out again and launched a little harder and went 8.8 @ 163. Heaps happy with this, as I was desperate to get into the 8's as quickly as possible and to do it on my 3rd pass I was stoked! Had one more run and went 8.8 @ 163 again. Both of these were only with a 1.4 60 foot. I atleast got both front wheels off the deck on the last two runs. Hopefully there is a photo of a tasty wheelie coming my way in the next couple of days. A good first meet for me, and I am keen to get on with the job and get quicker. Its a mad rush and well worth the wait. Fun times ahead. Phil
  20. I have a fibreglass GT bonnet and it fits sweet on a top mount manifold.
  21. Nice work mate - congratulations!
  22. Yeah fair enough
  23. 1.33 is my cars best so far.
  24. Not sure mate - will ask Dom and come back to ya.
