I have a feeling there pulling the wool over my eye maybe both eyes.
  2. iam glad to hear that common sense prevails on this site
  3. hi guys as of a month ago, I became a proud owner of a g6et and wanted to know as much about this car as I could ,that's the reason I joined this forum, there are some very knowledgeable people on this site.ask a question and someone will have the answer. anyway I also got this topic posted on australian ford forum hoon laws 76 posts 1370 views, this topic got a bit personal at times, but nothing over the top.it was good to see different points of view as you would expect.well the administrator pulled the plug on the topic, (why I cant understand) there were some great ideas put forward.I realize this is a ford forum about ford cars but this new legislation concerns all drivers. australian ford forum just killed free speech in my opinion I would like to think the administrators on this site, understand that this would be a spicy topic. because of the different age groups involved and would tolerate a vigorous debate or points of view. and if it got to personal I would expect the administrators, to tell the persons involved to pull their heads in, but let the topic run. anyway iam still new to this forum stuff,so I dont know all the rule and regulations. but common sense tells me there is nothing wrong with a vigorous discussion
  4. yes, adam I was thinking with an old head on my shoulders again .a nice peaceful demonstration bad bad idea after all, we certainly don't want another bob jane incident. thanks for pointing that out, I had forgotten that one.
  5. just had a thought, some of you guys should spread the word. get the HSV boys involved organize a rally for the middle of the city it would be fantastic if you could get a 1000 cars all gather at parliament house on a sunday oh man what a sight that would make an impact lmao
  6. I put this post on to get a reaction. iam 60 so these new proposed hoon laws wont affect me much, even if I exceed the speed limit by 25 on the odd occasion while passing another car.the cop would probably just fine me ,but it may affect you younger fellows, to the full extend of the law.getting your cars impounded for 30 days. the point that concerns me most, and missed by a lot of you guys are my civil liberty's, are slowly being eroded bit, by, bit. year after year. I used to go four wheel driving did that for 12 years.camping over night in the bush fishing etc etc. then the park rangers wanted to ban a lot of tracks we used to drive on (pressure from the greens)because we may pick up a few seeds, on our dirty tyres and spread them in other places, they also tried to stop horse back riding for the same reason.the 4x4 clubs decided to have a protest rally in the city, hundreds turned up in there 4 wheelers and a negotiation process started with the government they stopped the cattle men grazing there cattle in the high country, you should see all the blackberry's now. the federal government increased the retirement age to 67, not a boo out of many people at all. wont affect me but I still complained to my local member smoking is another, if government were serious they could ban smoking , but they collect to much on tax look what the greens have done, if you agree or disagree, they complain they get in our politicians ear and get results GUYS PROTEST get angry, contact your local member, sit down for an hour email him or her let your feelings be known. DO SOMETHING THE POINT IAM MAKING IS if you want something changed or amended, call your politicians, or in 30 years time we will all be so over governed it wont be funny. oh nearly forgot one .another one of our civil liberty's will be lost soon ZERO ALCOHOL READING WHILE DRIVING no more going to your mates for 1 beer and a chat because you wont be able to drive home tell the pollies ,its better to get advanced driving tests, etc etc read the posts the guys have come up with some good ideas and also tell them that you feel 30 day impoundment for your car is to harsh what is a definition of a hoon driver good luck
  7. OK YOU HAVE ENLIGHTENED ME YOU ARE BIASED I understand exactly how you feel, my mate travelling at 65 ran of the road, rolled his car in a ditch. he is now a quadriplegic. hes wife got the news 5 hours later , she rang me at 2am I drove her to the hospital, and I know about the heartache and years of re ability, he just lost his concentration for I sec he will pay for that 1 sec for the rest of his life . self pity set in FOR MONTHS WHY ME WHY ME ,very very sad, she was also pregnant at the time but these hoon laws if you travel 25 above the limit according to you ,anyone could have there car impounded for 30 days that's to severe .it doesn't take much to be 25 over with the cars we have today. young people don't think like older ones they take risks, they make more mistakes, they make those 1 sec stupid decisions ,there is no intent to injure or kill while driving they were young and stupid in my grandfathers day, they are young and stupid now
  8. sorry worm your a hoon if if you spin your wheels and get caught. (I like that spirited driving),you just cant do that anymore,I used to be a hoon in the early seventies in my xt, iam an older fellow now,and I know you cant stick a old head on a young body. used to do exactly the same as the young blokes do today, but times have changed .perhaps the goverment they should tell the auto company's ,not to produce such high powered cars ,outlaw the production of the f6 ,subaru, hsv, etc, etc, etc,we dont need them here in VICTORIA because our speed limit is only 110 max. I would love to see there response AUTO MAKERS are all about power , speed, excitement sex appeal. bring in the gun laws for cars lock your high power cars in shipping containers ,and use them only on track days
  9. first offence 30 days second offence dont know but third offence they will crush your car what happens, if you get done twice, and you borrow someones car, and get done in that for your third offence poor mum ,dad, girlfriend, etc, etc, they may have borrowed $50.000 for this car SAY BYE BYE CAR LISTNEN & LISTNEN GOOD you guys, contact your local state mp LIBS, PUT FORWARD YOUR SCENARIOS OR DISPLEASURES. please make yourselves heard tell your friends family etc I KNOW I WILL the do-gooders are talking to the state government already THE PROBLEM HERE IS ITS UP TO THE OFFICERS DISCRETION, WHETHER YOU ARE A HOON OR NOT I dont think I will lend out my car anymore it was in yesterdays sun SPREAD THE WORD
  10. its proposed, first offence they will take your car for 30 days. your opinions please

  13. hi guys just been up to mildura and back,no problems at all. I bought a car bra for the trip, but we did not see any locust at all. glad I bought one because I had plenty of other bugs all over the front of it. when I got home it only took 2 Min to clean with a brush, it fits like a glove, and no issue with scratches anywhere, I would recommend it to anyone. travelled 1305 klm average of 9.5 Lt/100. very happy with those figures and that's with full throttle a dozen times passing other cars, wow it goes. temperature was between 28 to 35 deg, and the air con worked well,we had it on auto at 20 deg very comfortable NOW A FEW FAULTS 1 when I wash the bonnet it buckles in the middle, they should have put strengtheners or another fold there. 2 behind the front wheel on the guards and that skirt, the plastic holding it all together. crap, crap, crap, same as the back quarter panel they try to make a great car,and don't finish it of properly stupid twits. 3 rubber seal around right hand back door came loose the length of the door. 4 after washing the car I have to open the boot lid to clean the top bumper bar, also the gutters where the hinges are they collect a lot of dirt. 5 first thing in the morning when the motor is cold , and I take of slowly there is a soft cluck within the first 20 meters, somewhere underneath the car that's the only time it happens,?? DONT GET ME WRONG I am very happy with my g6et love it ,but that's the difference between locally produced cars, and the European or japs they pay attention to small details anyway went for my 3000 service, they fixed the rubber seal, put a few screws in the plastic bits, GOOD SERVICE,NO COMPLAINTS THEY DID WHAT THEY HAD TO DO, NOW HERE'S THE THING only because of what I read on this site, I though I would ask them about the aircon, told them I was happy with it, but is that as cold as it gets .??? iam happy with it ok . but they checked it out for me anyway lol, guys they need the car 2 days to fix the aircon because they tell me there's a blockage think its a regulator, there is nothing wrong with my aircon but I think they are upgrading it, and they will check out that knock at the same time. sorry about the long post
  14. oh gee guys I missed that post, if only I had seen that I would have come along for sure.next time the last 10 or so cars have all been new ones, so I wasn't all that excited about getting another one. but when I got it home and had a good look at it.I wanted to know how it all worked so I started reading the manual till late friday night, this is when the juices started flowing it reminded me when I was 23, when I bought a xw gt. I know you guys will think this is stupid but I had a good look at it, but never test drove this thing before I bought it.but to my surprise its better than I thought it would be ,for a ford. what I enjoy about this car is 1 that I can use its power 2 cruise at a lazy 80 around the hills, corners very well 3 sit on a 100 or 110 in a lap of luxury 4 biggest thing of all its a car for all season's and I have only had this bloody thing 3 days I am rapped
