  1. I think this thread needs to be locked so I'll give it a go. Go for a Nizpro 4".. There that should start enough to lock the thread.lol...
  2. He means that the bearings are cageless. And yes the Garrett bearing cages are a type of plastic.
  3. An old trick to stregthen the flexplate is to add a beef plate in the middle. What I did was buy another flexplate, cut the middle out and weld it over the centre of the original again so that it is double the thickness in the middle of the flexplate. This is where they tend to strip out. This will save you about $ 600 from buying a billet one. Buy new bolts from Ford, use locktite and torque.
  4. Cruising no difference, but you lose that down low punch that the standard wheel gives you along with a lazier spool. This is mainly due to the T04Z wheel being heavier so it needs more work to get it turning.
  5. The standard Bosch valve is not your generic BOV. It is an air by-pass valve. My old supercharged 4AGZE corolla also had one to bypass the vanes of the blower on idle so it wouldn't have to suck through the blower to breeth at idle. So yes it is possible that on idle with vaccuum applied to the valve it will open. Boost is applied on the diaphram to it to keep it shut.
  6. Do not get a $ 400.00 30min tune. I day should be plenty for a tune as they usually only need a few solid hours of working on the car.

2.5k would get you a better package from plazmaman or process west.
  8. I would imagine trying to control anything over 10psi would be difficult and you would also suffer from wastegate creep.

I don't know if it'll make a big difference for you but I know that the rear muffler on the single 3.5" is restrictive. The internal diameter of those 3" tips you see is only about 1 3/4" not even 2". I measured them a while ago using a telescopic guage in there.
  10. Cracked coil maybe?

Here's some other comments about HPF low reading car for its mods. Might just be the Dyno!!

Run it down the 1/4 then compare your mph with others on here in the MPH vs RKW thread. Was it hot when it was dyno'd? Numbers don't mean that much it is just a tuning tool. Think of it like your scales at home. They all weigh different but offer you a scale to work with.
  13. What Girdle ask him, the thin flimsy baffle plate or the sump that is held on by 10mm bolts?
  14. PM me if you still need one mate, I have a spare.
  15. Nice job matey. I hope that silicon joiner is reinforced so that it doesn't suck in under load. Otherwise very nice.
  16. If you put a T04Z front wheel on it mate it will be laggy and to really see the potential of that front wheel you need a bigger exhuast housing. Just speaking from my experiance.
  17. MTA Turbos in QLD will supply you with a new core using silicon nitride bearings and a billet compressor wheel which will flow more for $1100.

Try BTA motorsports. They do built boxes at fair prices.
  19. I would wait until I had the exhaust and intercooler and tune all at once. You will probably benefit from valve springs, actuator and wastegate mod.
  20. Silicon nitride is a hard ceramic. Look it up.
  21. Nicely done mate. So the intake did make a difference yeh?
  22. The pod will suck hot air, hence less ignition timing = less power.
  23. You returned it to stock and its all good?
  24. lol. it's an easy fix mate. put it back to standard. If it fixes it then you know that your mods require a custom tune. No brainer really?
  25. So you returned it back to standard did you?
