Any more bov's tested? Shame the dual port has sold out for $65.

So to get this sound, would you need to; a) block off stock BOV, or do you still want it vented?, b) Replace Turbo Inlet Pipe, c) Have a "Dose" pipe (3", 4", 389"??) Can anyone do a step by step break down for a FG Turbo for the non-mechanical newbies? Cheers
-
I have just vented my stock BOV - a long psssccchhhhhhh noise. Not any (or much) flutter unless at full boost or induction noise as expected. If I was to remove the stock BOV all together, then would I hear alot more flutter? Don't want to wear out the turbo quicker than needs be - I have read so many articles stating the blow off valve minimises turbo wear, whereas the same amount of people say that a fully blocked off BOV system won't do any harm and you can run many rwkws without harm. Not sure what to believe! I just want flutter, and no premature wearing on the turbo! Cheers

Have just bented the stock BOV on my FG XR6T. Used the below parts: 1. A bunnings 25mm rubber chair stopper (wich tapers to a wider end),which is 25mm internally. (Pkt of 4 for $5) 2. A 20-38MM metal hose clamp thingy to secure the stopper onto the Crossover end opening, once the piping was removed - $1.50 3. A 25mm K&N Breather - $35 The last FG XR6T I had I left stock, so for this FG was a much liked mod as I actually heard some noise from underneath the bonnet without having to boost hard. Makes a long psssssccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sound when you back off the boost/accelerator - not as crisp a sounds as I would like it {ideas for this sound's welcome}, but not bad for under $50. Best part - completely reversable if needed, and also, no noise when cruising/slowly acceleration, just when you want it. Cheers

Forgive the Newbie Q - what kind of RWKW gain, if any, would you expect from the piping kit? Cheers -

Hi All, Great to see 3 pages sinces I last had a chance to get on the site - busy with work & Christmas stuff - crazy time of year! Off to USA tomorrow night to have Christmas with the Missus and her family, hopefully pack her back in my suitcase and bring her home this time! Spotted a nice looking Forcefed Falcon the other day outside Surge Gym, in Ocean Keys, looked sharp. Pics posted at end of thread SteveR - Scuffs look good mate - I think you're right also in the Fg ones are the way to go - thanks for posting the pics Welcome Breydy Never a truer word spoken - Driving along Marmion Avenue today, guy in the Right Hand Lane (Read Passing) doing 65 in an 80klm zone sitting on the phone. Needless to say my horn got a slight workout - and needless to say to no effect, the arrogant didn't give a toss and continued to drive the same way...oh my....

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Hi SteveR - No - didn't get the scuff plates with the car, however saw them on ebay for $66.95 Incl Shipping throughout Australia which is not much better than the trade price of $75.40 from the dealer direct. Did you end up with an FG? Spotted Silver XR6T with the standard XR6 non turbo rims, parked at Cockburn Gateway SHopping centre today at 12noonish, balck private plates, I XR6 I Did the earlier models of the XR6T come out with the NA wheels for a short period? Also, is anyone else getting pissed at how slow freeway driving in Perth is becoming, even in off peak?? Or is it just the T wants to play faster.. G.

Hi All, I'm new to the XR6T Forums - have been looking around and it seems the cruise thread in WA has drawn to a stumbling meander...Albeit Christmas time, thought it would be an opportunity to get together for a little Christmas Cheer... I work mainly evenings and weekends which makes it harder but feel free to throw any ideas out there... If not before Christmas, should definitely organise it for next year. FYI, Im based NOR, Brighton. Cheers, & a blessed Christmas to all. G. P.S - A quick pic snapped with my iphone, apologoies for the quality.

2009 XR6T ZF auto, averaging 10.9 -11.5L/100klm - combination of city and highway driving, pushing it hard when overtaking etc. averaging 63L to fill from right on empty to completely full (68L tank). Using 98 Premium only, generally getting 550klm per tank. Same fuel efficiency as my 2006 Subaru Liberty B-Spec 3.0L Flat 6CYL BOXER eng - very happy.
