Yes Luke, it's surprising how fast you get used to the power. So did the tuners recommend a time span between tune check ups? macka

Hi guy's just after some feedback from members who have had the edit tunes now since they first arrived 9 months ago. With the self learning capability I was wondering if anyone has noticed any change in the engines performance. The reason why I ask is that I have heard of people running edits on their crapadoors have experienced issues with their tunes altering due to the self learning capabilities of the modern ECU's and for the need to have regular touch ups to keep their cars running in a good state of tune. And I was just wondering if the tunes in the Ford edit were doing the same. macka

What's going on Jeff, anymore news on when it will be available. macka

Coming from someone who likes cutting holes in bonnets nice job. Know if you can direct some of that cold air into the engine would give even more purpose. macka

keep up the good work mate. must be nice to know all the other tuning houses are still playing catch up. Look forward to you being the first in the 9's macka

Its been a while since this topic was covered. I thought that I read a post from Street Tuner stating that the box came with 3 tunes. 1 for the 8 psi tune 2 for the 10 psi tune and 3 could either be a velet tune or a stock 6 psi tune that is modified to run when larger injectors are fitted to you car. When you order your box you can ask them for this option if you have larger injectors. Steve might pay to ring capa and see if you can send the box back and have this option downloaded into it. macka

Sure you're not forgetting the individual camshaft timing? I don't recall the standard T getting that. I have a feeling limp mode is heading your way ..... Be interesting though ... I'm sure you'll keep us posted. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was there but was never driven by the ECU in that way... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As far I am aware all the hardware is in place for the camshaft timing to happen but the PCM is not programmed to make it happen. Hope it works out Jeff macka

Sounds good Jeff, Keep us posted. How do you plan on doing it. eg have you been able to hack into the SCT flasher. I'd certainly be interested if the price is right. macka

I don't see how they would be any better. Basically the same engine with the F6 running slightly higher boost from the factory. Best way to compare the two would be to run a T with 8 psi map loaded against the F6. Would be close I think. My money would be the T though. Just because of the torque reduction. macka

If your gunna hit the rev limiter alot make sure your've got a good helmet on. Don't want you looking like a crash test dumby now that you've seen the light. Welcome and enjoy the ride macka

I don't think the Typhoon runs a different head to the XR6T. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Only the springs are different but the head is fitted on line as a whole assembly, hence they are considered different. If you look at the back of the head XR6T's have a spot of red paint, F6's have a spot of blue. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm a little confused It makes no sense for Ford would make two moulding processes for their heads. not cost effective I think what Venom is saying is that the castings are the same but there is different components in them. eg F6 would have slighty different cam grinds and valves and maybe better flowing chambers etc. similar to Boss 260 & 290. Hence the need for the two coloured spots and different production lines so that the T does'nt get the phoon head and visa versa. Phyisically you should be able to swap heads on each short block. macka

Rob, Count me in might even go down underground to have a look seeing that I have a gold pass and all. Its been 20 odd years since I finished working there, it will be interesting to see how my handywork is holding up. macka

Hi Steve, Why would you think twice about posting pics of your ute . Your ute is nothing to be ashamed of. They look just as good on yours as they did on mine. I see you have had the ute lowered as well. Ute looks great, I bet your getting some looks now. hope your happy with it. macka

nice one Jeff But they are seedless watermellons. macka

I'm just kicking back eating my watermellons nothing like a little difference of OP to get the members on their keyboards over 1000 views already Love Macka

Hope the SCT guy's are busy working on a way to turn this off. Looks like even less fun than drivin a Volvo macka

I think they did it with BBS rims aswell, labelled as Herrods. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can you imagine how big their organisation would be if they actually made everything they sell. No different to Ford Mavericks, laser and so on years ago. Its called business and making money. macka
-
Why wasn't THIS moderated? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because the site has become dull and needed some action to spice it up. Even the mods were having a crack. As for your conclusion of xr6turbo owners being wankers macka

Now your getting the point Adam, Your happy with your decisions and where you've spent your money. But that does'nt mean that everyone has to go down your path. You had different goals than most for your car. So why try and discredit others. Whether they make their own stuff or rebadge it is irrelevant. happens all around the world. macka
-
And where did I mention your name or car? to have the first dig. I the cap fits you know what to do. I'm certainly not a herrod spokesperson just a customer who is happy with my choice of exhaust. And that is insulting to suggest it, considering your blatant pushing of the HPF wheelbarrow And now you have another slash with the blunt knife and have the nerve to compare me with Geeseman I'm happy with the watermelons and you can have the coconuts. Not as thick as some macka
-
And who else stuff is. The de-phillipo dump pipe was going to be the next best thing since sliced bread. A couple of members started saying that they were'nt happy with the quality now nobody wants to touch em. Does'nt matter wether or not they actually work as long as they look pretty. It's only an exhaust for Chr**t sake who really cares what it looks like as long as it does what they say it's supposed to.
-
I think you should read all the posts again. I think you'll find you are in fact the one that decided to have ago first by putting Herrods down and by your own admittion without any personal experience. Then you said the little gem above. if that's not having a go at me then what is. And your little threat about giving it back with interest doe'nt scare me either so bring it on if your feeling lucky. As far as only having the Herrod exhaust goes, that 's all I wanted. And I do believe that's my choice macka
-
On the night they first released the edit in Melbourne I believe Cameron's Gt and one or to other their were the first to have the edit done. They looked pretty happy to me as they were drifting around the block and taking their mates for joyrides. Like I said though if you like them, then don't go their. Lets get back on topic shall we. I believe a question was asked about the Herrod exhaust. as far as I'm concerned there's nthin wrong with them. macka
-
Yeh, I suppose you can blame Herrods for that you seem to have ago at them with only hear say evidence, when ever you feel like it. You were there and heard and seen what happened that night, so don't go bringing my car into the argument macka

And your facts are derrived from where? That's not actually the case. The APS system running a stock tune on a T does not bring in overboost. Why would I know? I ran mine stock for a while with the exhaust on it and it ran beautifully, a little more power than stock with a beautiful note to match. I'm tipping bang for buck your old man got ripped and his only claim to fame is the brand name on his car. Rob Herrod is a marketer and a very good one. I was quoted $1650 for the Herrod cat back system, for $1800 I got the full APS system including dump pipe fitted. It would be the best looking and best quality system around. In cabin noise is pretty much non existent, not like alot of others around. And no I am no APS convert as many here will know, I just know a good product when I see it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> JB, How long ago did you receive that quote? I've had my Herrod exhaust for over 12 months now and it only cost me $1200 fitted. Drive in 1/2 hour later drive out and I did'nt even have it booked in I was just there having a look and a chat to them. It was'nt that long ago you could'nt buy APS gear seperately has this changed and when? can you now source them or, was it an old APS dealer having a clean out of APS stock before he jumped ship to the Edit. And was $1800 a mates rate sale and everyone else pays the full price. macka
