  1. That's because they are marketing their product towards the usual mentality of a Expensive Daewoo driver If they had any brains to start with they would own a Expensive Daewoo in the first place macka
  2. Robdam, 8 psi of boost should give you around 230 -240 rwkw. Check all your hoses and joiners for leaks. Change all the factory clamps for descent one's. Get them to try another flasher. I have heard of members having the occasional problem with them sometimes not loading tunes properly. Might be the dreaded valve spring issue, can happen to some cars once you try and run 8 psi and over. some of the things I'd be looking into. hope you get it sorted macka
  3. If you are info about the flash tune, why did you post a thread in a competitors section. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt being a new member. But please ask questions about products that you want info about in the appropriate sections. saves a lot of agro between members and site sponsors macka
  4. For what !!! To go slower :rl: OH!!! relax only They're more fun to drive without it It's probably just Fords way of lowering warranty claims on diffs and getting you to part with more beer tokens. macka
  5. Hey Dyno! I would have thought you'd have setup a robot by now with automated responces. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't be silly that would mean that he would have to get of his ar*se and actually have to do something to fill in his day. macka
  6. I have to agree with Adam This forum really is the same on a different day. Would be better to have FAQ technical section, most common mods section, keep the chit chat I reckon the forum needs a section where people can payout on each other with out fear of having the posts deleted. All in good fun of coarse macka
  7. Brian good luck. I hope all that's required is a new O2 sensor Let us know how you get on. macka
  8. Brian, The Ford dealers have been issued memo's instucting them not warrant any work on cars with any mods. If they do and try and put in a claim Ford may and can revoke their dealership. So you must understand their point of veiw. If you really want to have the problem sorted it would only take approx 1 hr to fit standard IC. If this satisfies the dealer that he can know cover his arse and say to Ford the car has no mods on it and they can now fix your ute. I pesonally think it's the easiest option. It may not be your preferred option, but if you've returned everything else back to stock I don't really see the problem if the car is fixed. Unfortunately times have changed with pressure on the dealers and warranty claims, maybe its a direct response because of the edit, that Ford have put their foot down. At least with a piggyback they could see what you've been up to. I doubt I would be so lucky with new transmittions in the current climate. macka
  9. I'd say that the wiring is there but the pinouts from the older PCM's would be different. 30 kw for under $300 is not bad value for money, that is if it could work. macka
  10. Adam, I suspect your right. Would'nt another option be to fit a Typhoon PCM to the XR6turbo. I heard a wisper that the PCM's they are not all that costly. Cheaper that the CAPA edit box. Trouble would be getting your hands on one. macka
  11. In a word YES!!! Especially if you are running stock injectors. I don't want to get into an argument about all this as it's been done to death. Some words of advise. It is better to over engineer and have plenty of safety margin, than push the envelope just to save a few dollars. I went down this path of trying to save a few bucks where I could and broke the car. You cannot have it both ways. It will bit you on the arse. I'm not having a shot at anyone as it was my choice and I made the wrong one. For the small cost of larger injectors, which I did fit, along with a bigger IC. It is cheap insurance and one that really should be done for any power level over 240 rwkw. If for nothing else but peice of mind. It has to be safer running something at 60-70% duty cycle than 90% or higher If I only kept the same mind set about the transmittion. macka
  12. Can you buy the plugin loom seperately from a APS dealer? Would be the easiest option, because I doubt that APS would give out wiring diagrams. No money in it for them if you can do it yourself. Unlike Xede which are freely available. good luck with it macka
  13. Everything is there even in th Mark I. PCM Software is not available. As soon as Ford wright the code to make it happen all will be good. Motec and some other ECU's can control camshaft timing. But you have to way up the cost compared to outcome. So what's going on Jeff. When you talk about a Typhoon tune for the XR6turbo is it just the engine parameters? How do you plan on flashing it in? Why can it not be used on the auto? If you can flash it in you must be able to determine what you want to flash. info please macka
  14. You gotta love that rapid typhoon. I want one. I wish I had a picture of it beside Georges Black Beast. Yellow & Black Go Tigees macka
  15. It was a great day Nothing like cruising with 36 other cars. macka
  16. It was a great day Rob I hope everyone enjoyed the back road detour we took. And I'm clad everyone returned safely from my handy work underground in one piece. macka
  17. Top Stuff Adam Keep it going macka
  18. OK Guy's, I'll be waiting for you on the Bendigo side of Elphinstone at 12.15 You know what to look for For those that don't A white ute and a black thing hanging out of the Bonnet. macka
  19. as usual another thread down the hole. well done macka
  20. Hi Jordak, Interesting couple of posts you've made. So I gather you noticed something was not quite right and then had it checked on a dyno. Do you know how much your tune had been altered. eg timing etc. Would it be better to have the self learning disabled if you have a custom tune done? What dis-advantages if any would this cause? macka
  21. Thanks for the feedback Adam I would have thought about every 12 months would be good time. That's why I asked the question. Some people would have had their edit tunes for 9 months now. It will be interesting to see if they have changed at all if and when they get them checked. macka
  22. Excuse me why the attack macka
  23. This maybe true and the self learning may not change how the engine performs. But how often should you have your tune checked. Engine performance does change over time. What causes these changes? macka
  24. yes this is true, But my concern is that with the power level being increased beyond what the engines factory specs recommend, and the fact that people drive these cars pretty hard. Would'nt the rate of engine wear and tear be greater. Is'nt this the whole point behind the self learning ability to be able to change engine parameters to the condition of the engine. I guess what I'm trying to ask is. Would it be safe to keep loading a custom tuned edit that was done at 3000 km into an engine that has clocked up 70,000km or more? The condition of the engine would have to be worse. So how long should you wait before you have your tunes touched up to make sure everthing is OK? macka
  25. After more power are we It will be interesting to hear their response. macka
