Considering the small problem of no 3rd or 4th gear left in the trans with still 100m of track left to travel I reackon a 13.0 @109mph is fair indication that with a trouble free run the car had plenty of potential left in it. I've said it before and I'll say it again "The only time I had trouble with traction, is when I actually had some". I would like to see your next run Marcus just to see Nick have a decent time against his tuning ability. Drag racing was fun while it lasted but it's the fun around the street that really counts IMOP macka

Speak for yourself Phill I was breaking traction the whole time that's how come you got past me <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When Nick was tuning my ute The only time I have trouble with traction. Was when when I actually had some. Traction = no fun macka

Well done Marcus, :rokon: Sounds like Nick has another happy customer. Are you sure the that the car is breaking traction @ 120 kmh. Might be just the wet skid marks in your jocks you can feel and smell Seriously enjoy mate macka
  8. Someone say, party :rokon: When? Where? Why Not? This ritual has me a little concerned Macka
  9. Blonk, I'll give you and Shazzy a call when I arrive. I'm sure once I'm up there and Shazzy has something planned and a date hopefully more will come along I believe there is a manditory operation all mexicans must have before we are excepted I promise to have the operation as soon as I arrive up there. Maybe that's what's scaring them away macka
  10. It is supposed to be good for 600 ponnies. But that would depend on alot of other things being done to the engine first. The quickest T in Aus ran a 9.9 and still had the factory turbo fitted. Heaps of other mods though macka
  11. AAAAH nuts, just when I was looking forward to my first cruise in QLD. No way I'll cruise with a Holden macka
  12. A mate has had his done recently and gives it the He noticed a difference in the way the car drove as soon as he got in it. 10% better fuel economy as well. I'm having mine done later next week when they replace the diff. So I'll be able to give first hand info by the time I get to QLD macka
  13. Your probably right, most dealers vary with their commintment on warranty issues. I've no doubt been lucky, with the support I've recieved both from theservice manager and the dealership owner. Jf you know the mechanics that work on your car pretty well I'd just have a quiet word with them and ask them not reflash the PCM and give them the reasons why. I'm sure they'll be on your side and not reflash. macka
  14. Bit of topic, sorry, but strongly disagree with this statement. Ambrose with Luff were a great chance of taking this yrs race. Luff was lapping slower than Ambrose, but he kept the car on the road at a fair pace, and kept it in a strong position. If Ambrose and Ingall had of been paired together, and met the same fortune as A&L, then Ingall would have been out of the points also. The C'Ship 1-2 would have both come away with no points for the weekend. It would have been a disastor for the team, more so than it was as it is. Anyway, back on topic, shame to see Pirtek go. But SBR will have no trouble picking up a strong sponsor. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes it is a little of topic, but I think history is against your agrument especially the last 5 years. The teams with their top drivers have won them. If Ambrose and Ingall had have been in the car it most likely would have been in a even stronger position and would have most likely been nowhere near Murphy anyway. And other choices made during the race conspired for that to happen. Luffy is a great driver but he lost to much pace during that 2nd stint in a row. He could'nt keep up the consistancy required for 60+ laps compared to the teams running 2 A1 drivers. It would have been a big ask for any driver to drive at that pace for such along period of time. Your right SBR will have no trouble finding another sponsor, trouble will be to find a driver who can compete on the same level as Ambrose. This choice of driver will determine the quality of the sponsorship deal. My money is on a 2 car Caltex backed sponsorship deal. Now that SBR are supplying more engines to other teams which helps reduce their development cost I would think it would be a more attractive deal. these are just my thoughts anyway macka
  15. I would'nt be suprised if Caltex take up the second car assuming that SBR intend to field one. Would solve a few of the sponsorship and drive combo problems. There is no doubt that to win Bathurst you need your A1 drivers in the same car. macka
  16. I've been honest with my local dealer and as most hear are aware my mods are pretty easy for all to see, so I felt that I had no choice but to come clean and tell them that I had a chip fitted. They have replaced 2 tranmittions and have ordered a new diff to be fitted next week, before I leave for QLD. And I did'nt even buy the car from them. They have however always done the servicing on the vehicle. I might be lucky and have found a good dealer. I'd suggest that you look around and ask various dealers about mods and gauge their reaction to your questions. Good dealers are out there just few and far between. As for leaving the 10 psi map in and letting the miss's drive the car that would be a from me. Hell she's lucky to even be allowed to sit in the car and I certainly would'nt be leaving it in there when I take it in for a service unless I knew the bloke that was working on it. Even then I most likely would'nt macka
  17. CC is back and will be more productive in the coming days... shazzy <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounds cool Expected ET of arrival, after they replace the diff is 26/10 macka
  18. You have a few alternatives 1. Assuming you take your car to your local dealer for servicing. Tell them that your car is running perfectly. So please don't reflash it 2. Tell your local dealer what you have done and ask them never to reflash the PCM 3. Take it to someone else to do services 4. Sacrifice your lives on the box if they do happen to reflash. Lets face it I've had my T for 18 months and it still has the original flash, so 5 lives will more than see you into a newie anyways. my preference is 2 & 4 Be honest and they will look after you macka
  19. Come on guy's, lets take step backwards for a while and cool down. Both cars are awesome pieces of machinery :spoton: Lets save all this agro for the track. May the better car and driver win macka
  20. Well, took the Ute in to the local dealer today to have it serviced in readiness for the migration north Went in to pick it up at the end of the day. "How did it all go", I asked. "Good and bad" was their reply. With a look like on my face I asked the question. What is the bad news. Reply, "we have ordered you a new diff, were not happy with the noise coming from yours". So I said," that's OK, what's the bad news". Reply,"If they don't have any in stock, we don't know when we will be able to get you one". I suppose I should look on the bright side of things, at least they are fixing my Ute. I just hope that my new employer is an understanding fellow. Looks like I won't be up in the sunshine till after Indy macka
  21. Dazza, I'm going to watch the Murphy Ambrose incident again. Murphy was out of his car with his helmet already of. I don't recall seeing remove the arse wipe of his head like Ambrose did when they had they're little chat. macka
  22. you've got to be joking I'd say he would have been less than 5 sec behind him. The race had just restarted. He had just passed the sheep to move into fourth position. There were still 15+ laps to go in the race, more than enough time for Ambrose to catch and pass the other three in front of him with the speed he had left in the Pirtek Falcon. The hardest thing to come to grips with is the fact that after Murphy's effort we will never know. It would have been edge of the seat stuff to watch Ambrose chasing down Skaife with 15 laps to go. Through his teams own decisions they imposed over 1 min in time penalties on themselves. Add that min back on, there is now doubt that the Pirtek ford would have been possibly leading the race or at the very worst 2nd possie. To say he would'nt have caught Skaife is wrong. Thanks to Murphy we will never now. macka
