  1. Hi Tom, It might be your OP but it seems logical to me. Would be interesting if some one could actually measure exhaust valve back pressure to see if it's actually what's happening. Yes your right I don't do things in half measures and will be replacing all of mine. I thought it might provide a good discussion point. I had my car tuned and was told that they could'nt get anymore out of the engine because of the valve flutter. I had someone else look at my car yesterday and he found an extra 30 rwkw with no sign of this dreaded curse, though I must admit he has'nt altered the boost level. I will still be changing the springs as I intend to go for higher power levels maybe I could have saved myself some money though. As some people are always wanting to do thing as cheap as possible I thought that I might mention that is't a possiblity.
  2. Kato, I like the sound of that "BIG MOUTH INDUCTIONS" That does'nt mean you guy's can start calling me big mouth macka either   macka
  3. Thanks turbotom, I understand what your saying, so if it's the exhaust valves fluttering why are people changing a full set of valve springs. Why don't they just change the exhaust ones. If most people are running 12 - 15 psi boost I would think that a 100lb valve spring should be able to coupe with that as ther is no backpressure on the intake valves macka
  4. Hi guy's, As far as water goes it's not a problem. Drove my car down to melbourne saturday the weather was as bad as you would possibly get. I drove it behind cars trucks getting a full face of road spray the rain was pelting down all the way, it's about an hour and a half travel time. I pulled up at the dyno shop and removed the shaker scoop and filter to see what had happend and see where the water went. The results were that there was some water laying in the water trap, the filter was slighty damp but there was absolutely now water anywhere under the filter. It was bone dry and the air box was clean as a whistle. macka

  7. Hi Guy's, Time to get though's brain juices working By the amount of interest in my Shaker CAI, I think I need to give the product a name so I would like to throw it open to forum members for suggestions. that's if the moderators and Admin don't mind. Is there anyone who could help me design a website cheers macka
  8. You should have come in for a look
  9. "More of a concern is the issue with valve springs, as the standard XR6T springs have been found to cause valve flutter with near standard engines" Can some please explain how say 6 - 10 psi of boost can make a 100lb valve spring flutter macka
  10. Yep, That was me and pretzel doing some dyno tests. Man you can't go anywhere nowdays  Did you get a look at my car, what did you think macka
  11. 1axr, the filter is mounted inside the shaker itself. The filter I used is a BMC flat panel filter. It will take a stock factory one or K&N or any other brand that uses the factory dimensions. The oil filler location will be relocated to another location on the rocker cover and an exchange program for this item will be offered. macka

Dazza, I'm looking forward to seeing the look on their faces actually when I take it in for the first time 1st reation that most people have when they see it, is their jaw drops open and you hear the awesome. 2nd A great big smile on their face, where did you get that. 3rd I love it Respose from the Ford will be all of the above as well as where's my black book. My response to them will be Although when I took the car down to book it in for a valve spring change the Ford guy did'nt say a thing. He was more interested in wanting to know why I wanted to change them and said the warranty on the engine will be macka

  18. It probably works well, does what it's supposed to. But it looks bloody ugly With the money they've spent on that you would like to think that they could have designed something more effecient and easier on the eye. maybe I should have been consulted  macka
