  1. thanks mate, all fixed. I'll post more pics and dyno sheets when they become available
  2. Here's one of some bald headed old fart fitting IC and one of the engine bay before I made the IC plumping
  3. thanks Mika, The litle sh*te has just walked in and showed me where he's stored his pics so I"'m uploading some now. We'll post more tomorrow of the engine bay ja has'nt taken any since I completed some more work today This was the intake menifold we were going to run but there was going to to much work involved moving A/C compressor so we elected to keep stock plenum. I little dissapointing really would have finished engine bay off nicely
  4. Here is a picture of the car from the outside... Will post some of the engine bay when I get some up to date ones...
  5. Hi guy's just thought I'd post about a new project I neen helping my son, well let me re frase that. I've been doing the work and supplying the financial backing. It's not BA or later related but I reckon when its finished it will give the XR6T's and many crappadores a run for their money. We've fitted a 4.0lt with a TO4E turbo external wastegate stainless exhaust manifold and I just finished the plumping for the FMIC. Had the car on the dyno to get a base figure before we start tuning with an ems stinger that I ran on my XR6T ute. Running standard ECU and injectors with 6.5 psi of boost the car made 178 rwkw and 800nm of torque. A/F were in the low 11's this is where the ems will help. Hopefully getting some consistant A/F's will see some HP gains. We have since replaced stock injectors with 42lb green tops and made some intake changes. All in all this thing is better than my XR6T ute running the same boost. I have just finished installing the ems and I will do some tuning myself then have the EMS tuned properly on a dyno soon, hopefully running 1 bar of boost or better depending on other unknown restrictions at the moment. I have fitted a wideband O2 sensor and run the data logging it's really cool stuff to play with. Any way I know what your going to say This thread is useless without pics so as soon as I find where the little sh*t has uploaded them to I'll post them. this thing is going to be a weapon macka
  6. Guy's I feel sorry for you. Just another example of government not having a clue. But looking across the borders from Vic it seems that WA only has one interest and that's F@#in football. And I truely believe that is all the sport the government thinks it needs. Get on your collective high horse and make a noise. The biggest booming state not to have a decent race track is pathetic.
  7. It seems that SBR's is running out of options for a top quality driver, it is a sad day when the once leading Ford team seems to be slipping out of contention. Lets hope they can uncover another Ambrose to revive they domination. Alex Davison would be my pick from Barry's list if that's all that available.
  8. Interesting to see Skaife & Tander teaming up. Did'nt they have some digs at each other and their respective abilities earlier in the year. Is it me or does the Expensive Daewoo driver talent seem a little thin if these changes are correct? Brad Jones may as well go to Expensive Daewoo he has never been able to get his Fords sorted out no loss at all. All Holdens running the same engines was always going to happen. Many Ford teams are running SBR engines to help with operational costs and share R&D costs. Lets just hope the scrutineers keep a close eye on these Walkinshonky engines, he has a habbit of finding ways to bend the rules to his advantage.
  9. The fact that there is already a performance production car series that Ford can hardly be bothered with should be enough reason to drop this ridiculous idea. The other fact is that this years Bathurst was one of the best in history with plenty of sponsorship exposure ensures V8 supercars longevity. Another fact V8 Supercars is in the top 3 of spectator attendence sports in Australia and growing. Maybe the other members should take the advise you gave me, and dont watch it. We all know that the series is bias towards Expensive Daewoo always has been always will be, other categories are the same. Just makes victory all the sweeter.
  10. I don't believe this BS thread is still going mods should close it. It's about as relevent as Brittney Spears
  11. I like the overall look and shape. BUT the small fog lights and bonnet ribs look straight of last model Crappadore for me macka
  12. It does'nt really suprise me. Rusty and SBR have dropped of the pace the day Ambrose left the team. I don't know that Dumbrell is going to help their cause unless they have shares in scrapmetal recycling.
  13. I'm sure if Ford don't twin turbo it, someone surely will. The yanks will have a few years to play with the concept. As long as ford have engineered the engine for forced induction with a descent bottom end and stong block all shoud be good. Oh lets hope they make enough room for dirty big cams macka
  14. I've giving the new engine some thought. Might not be as bad as we think. Hopefully Ford use the 3.7 variant and the engine will rev to 7000 + rpm. I feel pretty confident with the right turbo setup and hopefully edit tuning, wack some 4.11 diff ratio's for the extra rpm we might have an more potent weapon with even better times on the I/4 mile than we see now. What's your thought's
  15. Yeh, must be really hurting their bottom line throwing in a few lousy dollars sponsoring motorsport. Oil companies are all about raking in money not giving it away. Ford hinted they are looking at their involvement in V8 supercars, with teams losing their main sponsors this may speed up the withdrawl. I see that another Ford team was given a mechanical blackflag for the plastic grill not being secured. Adds more fuel the Expensive Daewoo conspiracy theory F*rk I wish Ambrose would come back to take on this Expensive Daewoo domination. It would be good again to actualy sit and watch the races knowing we had someone that actually had the ability to beat them.
  16. Why pay for 8 will 6 will hand your arse to you. :stirthepot: sounds like Ford are going to meet you half way and make the 6 into a V for ya
  17. Spoken by a typical over educated NAFA. With no idea of what real work actually is. Tell that also to drought ravaged country communities. Sounds like you should have be a politician in Camberra instead of a software engineer . But lets hope your right about plenty of full time work being around, for the sake of the 600 people that have just lost theirs. Oh for the record I'm like you and have plenty of work and don't have any trouble finding it. BUT not everyone is as well off as us.
  18. This is just another step towards Australia becoming a third world country. Telstra Quantus NAB CBA etc just to name a few and the list is getting longer every day, all out-sourcing to India etc, while Australian families struggle to find full time employment. I mean real full time employment not permanent part time or casual agency type employment that you see advertised in every paper or employment web site. The Howard government and business in general, especially multi national companies will not be satisfied until Australian manufacturing and it's workers are earning less money and reduced working conditions, equivelant to Singapore, India etc. After all this is what work choices is all about reducing us to work for less. The only way that Australia can compete is to reduce costs they say. It's always the worker that gets the sharp end of the stick, while the company fat cats increase their salaries and bonuses and pat each other on the back thinking that sacking 600 workers will stop the bleeding. Australia is a small and limited market and will never be able to compete on a price per unit sale against the likes of Hyundia or Kia. unless we are all prepared to have their living standards. I don't know what the answer is but this in INMOP is certainly not a step in the right direction. The government sits on it's hands pocketing billions in fuel excise and refuses to lower it, at what cost to the community. We are beginning to see that cost, the cost of fuel is the main factor why people are turning their backs on the large aussie 6 cylinder engine. Do Ford really understand how many of their loyal ond ongoing customers they are allieniating. If people walk away from Ford if they follow through with this decision and I believe many will, there will more heart ache for Ford workers still to come. Sorry to make an off topic post but I just had to vent my spleen.
  19. I could'nt really give a sh8T about the engine. Ford had v6 engines in capri's and early 1960 model falcons. The part that concerns me the most will be the demise of rear wheel drive. It is as sure as chickens hatch from eggs that any v6 engine package that ford release will be front wheel drive, like toyota and mazda. when that happens so will my relationship with ford. My suggestion if you can afford it is to lock up an xr6turbo in a shed. They will be worth money one day. macka
  20. I thought that was what its for
  21. Guy's I would'nt even consider a oil filled foam filter. I have seen it proven on APS's dyno on my car whilst doing R&D on what type of filter to use in my Shaker induction. 10kw less power than a BMC or K&N pod filter. macka
  22. exactly and nobody really gives a toss about it. I'd rather watch Expensive Daewoo wining every race than sit there and watch evo's wining because of their 4 wheel drive advantage
  23. I have been an avid watcher of V8 's for years. Yes there is a bias towards HRT and Expensive Daewoo teams in general. I'm sick of the blantant leaniency shown to the Kellys and HRT/Toll. I would imagine so are Ford. I believe Ford should drop the hole V8 thing. They have a real weapon in the Typhoon with an engine that has been proven to produce 1000 hp and then some so why stuff about with these dinosaur push rod things. They should build a real race car and take it to Le Mans and compete there. Or better still start there own series that has no parity rules BS. Best engineered car wins if you can't keep up F*ck you piece of crap off. It still amazes me that given the so called advantages and advances in design of the new V8 cars Lowndes and others still hold lap records back in the days VS. Parity is designed to stifle engineering excellence. There is no such thing as a level playing field any where in life so why try to make it happen in motorsport. The closest thing you would ever get to it, would to have 31 cars all built by HRT and have the same 31 clones of Skaife and Kelly's. what a scary thought. tiime to get of my soup box
