  3. Finding it hard to find the right black staggered 20" rims. Ideas or photo's would help.
  4. What diameter rims are you looking at? 18" 19" or 20" ? For the BA/BF it seems that normal is 8" for front width and 245/30's (not 35) are all you can do for the front without hitting ball joints. Any wider and your pumping guards and rolling lip and camber adjustment. Rear is up for debate depending on diameter and offset. Normal is 9.5" max and 265/30, maybe 275/30 without modifying. Any wider and your pumping guards and rolling lip and camber adjustment. So how wide is wide enough? Heaps of guys on this site have 19" for BA/BF's, a few with 10" or even 10.5" ( tocchi ).Definately will get some good advice on here. Hope this helps.
  5. On this site. Found a couple on off topic threads. One was in interior exterior. Although one mentioned SL or SSL. Suspension? I'll look again after work. And I'm just curious about Worm' B tyre sizes as they look stretched so no rubbing.
  6. Hi, Should ask WORM what rubber did you fit to your rims, KOYA INOX R1 20x10 (+38) and 20x8.5 (+35), that I saw on another thread. Any mods to get them to fit?
  7. I'm thinking for a FG Sedan a 20" x 9" front with 265/30/20 +30 offset then 20" x 10" rear with 285/30/20 +40 offset. From a bit of research this should fit without any modification. Now to find all black rims to suit the my black turbo. Looking forward to XXXRTURBO's photo's to show what he bought and offsets used to see if I'm close to being right . Looking for photo's of other cars with 20"s on, and sizes plus offsets if available.
  8. I'm thinking that it's safer to not be too silly on the front now, maybe just 255. More than that seems to be to much trouble although I'd like more. As rynof6 said I'd be better off with better rubber rather than width. Tocchi on the forum has run 10" on the front but I can't find more than that. How did it fit? Plus BF front ends have a different suspension setup to the FG. And 20" reads different to 18". Do you cop alot of excessive inside wear with the camber? Or get the tyres rotated regularly? And what do you run with on the rear if you had 275 fronts? Maybe road legal semi slicks. It doesn't rain much here.
  9. Running Goodyear F1 assemetrical 245/40/18 on the stock rims and they are so much better than the Dunlop's. But the prices in 20's with these width my prove to be a budget buster. So ideas are welcomed.
  10. Doesn't need to be so wide if they don't fit. The main problem is wheelspin on low throttle in 2nd and sometimes 3rd with 245's and ZF box so the rear is most important. So if 285's fit without mods and if Prodrive Performance parts come on line with mod Control Blades to allow 295 or 305 I'll smile. Thanks for the links, checking them out now.
  11. Has anyone had expirence with any of these aftermarket kits? Did they fit well? No dramas? Or did they line up badly, not clip on etc. ? Advice is welcomed. Thank you.
  12. Have gone with the Growler, and stopped. Now looking at 20"s again mainly for looks. Plotting 20x9 255/30/20 +36 front and 20x10 285/30/20 +40 rear. Big fan of Goodyear F1 assemetrical on my 18"s now unless there is some tips out there.
  13. Oh and how has Tocchi fitted such extreme rubber on his cars?
  14. Do you think 255 or 265 with a 30 profile?
  15. Rynof6 seems to have the right idea about offsets. But as offset ratios change with the rim width getting the right information is vital to getting the best fit. I'll guess that a good tyre fitter could measure the offsets to get the fit right on. I hope. Might need to do offline research then post it when I can get figures. I'm still keen on finding a 20" version of the standard XR6T rims, like the company that made the 20" versions of the Dark Argents, including the different widths. Has that stock but somethings different look. These would do, once you change the centre cap, but only come in 9" for the Magnum and 9.5" and 10.5" for the BMW Apec E70's. No idea of offsets on them though. But if those fit....
  16. Would be appreciated. Thank you. I just wish to fit as big as I can and 9"s width is available so I'll see. Of course I could try these 9.5's.... It's just getting the right offsets.
  17. Too many 20" wheels and not enough information on how big I can go.

  18. Bugger. They are 9.5" and 10.5. Probably too big yeah?
  19. I've noticed 20" x 10" 285/30/20 with +40 offset seems to work for the rear with no mods. so that's that taken care of. Now the front. How about 20" x 9" with 265/30/20 and +35 or +38 offset? Has anyone fitted something like this on their FG sedan? Noticed that rims could be re-drilled from 5x120 to suit. Is this common? If so then these rims would look factory sleeper but in 20"s. (RynoF6, on 20 September 2011 - 04:52 PM, said: I run 19x8.5 +35 and 19x9.5 +40 and fit fine. BBS CH Black redrilled from 5x120)
  20. Have to ask if the offsets to run on the 20"x10 rear is better if it's +35 to + 38 and higher or +35 and lower to get all the rubber inside the guards? If Tocchi runs his 19"x10.5 at +23 will this translate to 20"s as well? Maybe just a 20"x 10 will do. Also from what I've read, do not compare what can fit on an FG to the BA/BF with the factory mods to the suspension placement (something about ball joints on BA/BF get in the way, not FG's)
  21. Hi guys, Really chasing any advice for the widest 20" rims and tyres front and rear to fit to my FG XR6T, and what mods were needed, if any. I'm needing to fit new rubber soon so might as well get new rims while I'm at it. FPV have modified the control blade to fit 295/30/19's so does this count for 20"s? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Rim size, tyre size and offsets that worked. Cheers, Shane
  22. Hi Guys, Just reading in October 2011 MOTOR magazine about the FPV "black" They have done some testing at Winton Raceway with the reporter driving and by using a modified Control Blade, stuck 295's on a 19" rim in the back. It didn't state the width of the rim but they had used 19"x8.5" 255/35/19 front and 19"x 9.5" 265/35/19 rear before putting 295's on for the test. The performance parts will be available from FPV soon. Sounds promising....
  23. Going to check if these fit, just change the centre cap logo. In 20".found them on e-bay and their just bigger version of my standard rims. Some are made by a company called Apec so maybe they have some to fit XR6T's. Although if someone made the rims from the new Lambo Aventador I'd grab them in a heartbeat.
  24. There has been a couple of articles in Motor and Wheels magazine where they compare "Hot Tuners" and mods have been fitting 10" rear rims with adjustments to the Independant Rear Suspension somehow, or cutting the Control Blade by taking a notch out of it somewhere and not touching the panel. So I'm hoping that some guys on the forum have gone further with mods for racing or what not, and have squeezed 10.5" or even 11" without tubbing or major modification. It's all about the offsets it seems. Ford and F.P.V. are fitting 9.5" rears with 265's Dunlops on the back of the limited "Black" series, and factory cars need to meet exceptable tolerances, so there must be room for more. Is there a good website for new rims that anyone knows about? I want to find the right set of 20" black rims for my black XR6T, slightly dished.
  25. Hello turbo owners, I found a few sites for aftermarket F.P.V. body kits to upgrade the look of your XR. Current as of September 2011 XR body kit e-bay page This is a link to an e-bay page as of September 2011 for rear bars, side skirts and spoiler. They also have a front bar but only for base headlights. Visit e-bay store "FORD BUMPER BODY-KITS" Prices are cheaper than ordering a standard bar from Ford. XR FPV body kit This is a link to Fibresports e-bay page, showing some of their products. Visit e-bay store "fibresportsautomotive", to check it out. Fibresports web site This is a page for full body kits for many Fords, but the BA, BF and FG kits are complete, including for a FG XR, an aftermarket F.P.V. front bar that fits the XR headlights. Fibre Enhancements web site This is another business with aftermarket body kits for Falcon'a. These parts might be just the thing to make your XR a little more unique. I'm looking at replacing my XR6T rear bar with an F.P.V. look-a-like and side skirts to match, after a carpark ding, so I'm hopeful the rear bars shown here will be great. A standard XR6 rear bar with a single exhaust cut out is over $600- from Ford parts division. A standard F.P.V. rear bar is worth$3000- + if you known a guy at Ford that can order one for you. Standard practise is that you can't get one from Ford as a part unless you have a F.P.V. and it's proven that it's needing replacement. Happy modifying. Cheers. Shane
