  1. I don't sell Ford clutches so no agenda. Feel free to use whatever, doesnt bother me in the slightest.
  2. they already said that it was for safety, because the cat was gutted, and fuel lines were not safe, but took the money anyway. ← No they didnt actually. Here is what they said back on page 4 Other ppl have discussed other reasons though. They had previously sent the car away to have some of the issues fixed. BTW, I dont work there and have no interest in the company other than ive been a customer that's been VERY well looked after by them. Many things said in this thread have been very harsh and unfair on their workmanship which I know is extremely good.
  3. Again, assuming the information. Where did PT say that? All they have said about the matter is that they would refund the money for the tune and would rather not have anything to do with the car. that's fair enough concidering how they were treated. People have speculated about the reasons without asking the source including the cars owner. A call to them this morning would have been wise to find out why the car dynoéd lower than others and what could be done to improve. I know some cars that dyno with under 200rwkw yet went and ran a 12 first run and others with 250+ rwkw that cant crack one at all.
  4. If that had happened in the first place this thread wouldnt exist other than to let everyone know about a happy customer. PT didnt get that chance as the flaming had already begun. Many ppl in this thread speculated on the reasons (and still are) without any idea what they were talking about. There are always 2 sides of the story. If he had rung PT and discussed it with them, they would have let him know exactly what the issues were and what was required to resolve them. Lets not forget they were there afterhours and did mechanical work on the car as well that may have taken it over time. Mark and Shaun always tell me to "see how it goes and if there is any issues let them know". Ive had the odd issue and its always been resolved 110%. Working WITH a workshop will save you many $1000's over time rather than expecting them to work for you. Anyone can tune to get a number, we all know that's not the right way.
  5. I rang PT to let them know of this thread and the car owner involved hadnt bothered to even let them know of the issue. If you want anything resolved go to them. Ranting on a forum to ppl with loyalties to other workshops will only bring flaming. Its pointless. Ive had a heap of work done by PT and if I have any issue at all, a quick call to them solves it. Yes there are issues with this car that the owner was told about prior to bringing the car there. that's for him and PT to sort out. Everyone else is just jumping on the bandwagon without the facts (some important ones seem to have been omitted)
  6. Have you forgotten the VL with a Nissan turbo 6 in it. It was and still is very popular. Many people I speak to think Ford copied Expensive Daewoo in releasing a turbo6. Personally I see it as a natural evolution on the engine. Who cares where its from as long as it produces the goods. Ford is global manufacture much like Holden. They source bits from all over the place. Venom XR6: your correct it hasnt officially been announced. We do have contacts within HSV that have "un-officially" confirmed and driven the cars. Same as Gen4 Monaro's are currently driving on aussie streets. If I remember right there was a Gen3 in some VS's when it was being tested out for the soon to be released VT
  7. Why buy a v8 is you dont like the fuel usage? I get 10.7L/100k's on the highway and 13-14L/100K's around town in a 2000kg caprice (LS1) which I dont think is bad at all. It has been confirmed the LS2 will be in the VZ HSV range and the LS1 stays in the Expensive Daewoo range with another increase in power but also looking at an increase in size as well (6L) before the VE which gets the LS2 across the board. There is also talk about a twin turbo V6 for HSV in the VE. I dont think the VZ would get it but with the XR6T doing so well it might be a smart move for Holden. Fords marketing boys need a stir up for sure. I think your right about the forced induction. There hasnt been this much interest in it since the VL turbo and with some weight loss and quality control they have a long term winner. Many die hard Expensive Daewoo fans have crossed over and more are likely to follow.
  8. Had a great night at willowbank tonight with a few runs against a Blue XR8. It was great to see the ford guys out there and lining up against a LS1. In the past for some reason we have seen the fords reverse out of a lane or refuse to run. Tonight was different and much fun was had by all. We even had this BA waiting for us to ensure we raced and not had to line up against the 16 sec ricers. Result was my Caprice 13.71sec vs BA XR8 14.22 Both modded with bolt-0ns. One race he had the car in performance mode and said the car refused to shift gear and just sat on the rev limiter. IS that normal? It hadnt happened to him before and his MPH suffered. It would be great to see more Fords out there at the test and tunes too. There is a EFI Drag day planned for August 15th Details HERE and a LS1 vs XR6T day in Sydney HERE
  9. you know we are gunna have to pay you back now :D hehe (nice gag guys. love it)
  10. Info on the 15th August Drags at Willowbank can be found here http://forums.v8owners.com/showthread.php?t=21 Should be a good day.
