  1. Hi Kent, no it has only been reading low for about a month, I ran it up on the 10.44 @ 132mph tune, and it only made 375kws, (made 404kws before) was not untill I got to the track and got the mph that it ran, that I realised she was reading low. David
  2. the 9ich rear would lighten it a fair bit, (quality stuff) but then after that dropping it another 100kg without turnning it into a total drag car, will be tough David
  3. Well done!!!! what happened on the last run, you pulled a better 60ft, but had droped back behind your first run at 330, then ran the same mph as the first one, hit the limiter in first? anyhow good work, they like around the 11.2 mark these cars. David
  4. This is the quickest car ive owned, so its all new to me, but I expect I will have to get it to under 1500kg, and have 250 more hp, and run a low 1.3 60ft I think the stock rear will cope from what I have seen so far, the tail shaft will have to be changed I think, but I will leave it in untill it breaks. I will play away, but each second you go quicker, it gets a lot harder. if the stock motor gets a 9.5 sec I think the built one should do the rest for me.imo David
  5. if someone thinks they can build one to hold together, I will test it for them, I don't like not having a overdrive. David
  6. I don't know much about them, but I bought them from C&V, the boots rub on the shock, and the hand brake bracket, and wear through the rubber boots, so I moded both a bit, and glued the boots back together, they seem strong, although I have never broken a standed one either, seem a little to much movement in the outers for my liking, so I will not hit the transbrake, and in a manual that movement might help brake them. could be just a dud set, but they have not broken anyway. eights, yeh if that happens down the track some day, I would expect two wheels in the air. David
  7. Sorry, I might have explained that wrong, the tune had 19.5 down low, and right through, I left the line at 7.5 psi. if you watch the video, you will see that there is a delay for the first couple of feet, untill all the boost hits. David
  8. Hi Guy's, I am back from work again, I will try and answer the Questions that was asked of me. 19.5 psi off the mark, the slicks were not to bad to fit, just a tidy up and the right off set, but I did pump the gaurds a bit to have them stay under, Hi Simon, thanks, she felt good off the mark, bit of fun on the last run as the due came in. I will be doing a built motor soon, just chasing the limits of this one first, I don't want to be left wondering if it would have held more. the C/V's are those Crommolly ones that were getting sold around the place,I will talk more on them and the changes I have done to the rear to help it hold together. as for being the best tuner, I will give my honest opinion, I am not the best maybe not even close. I try hard try to give honest info, and don't giveup untill I get it right, but there is a lot I don't know, and have had help along the way by other tuners. and a lot of help with my car by other people, and for this I am gratefull, I would name them, but it would be at the risk of forgeting some one, so I would rather just say that its a XR6TURBO Group efort, something we all can be proud of. Headsex, yes she was gathering dust a bit, just been working all the time and had no more for my hobby, was losing the drive, got back on the forum, started building my pasion again, and over the next couple of months, will finish this motor, then see what a built motor can do, what I will put in it, will be off the shelf low budget, so it can be copied all the way, like it is now. I will tell eveyone when this motor decides that it has had enough, going for more still though, might try to get some weight out of it, and lift her 20 more kws,if she still holds, another 20 on the same night, but I will find the limit. David
  9. Hi, yeh straight 19.5 all the way David
  10. thanks guy's hey that's not a bad video, that ten sec run took a bit of keeping straight though. Drive lines are pritty tough in these cars (apparently) I feel it has a high 1.3 in the 60ft, that 10.0 run would have done it if I had adjusted my hand brake before I left, just as I was ready let her go, it creped on me and set the light. inflight; very close, mine had the door skins on but there is no weight in them, so the numbers are nealy exact, yours might have been a bit lighter because no exhaust and cage, but mine was a touch better in the 60ft which helped me climb in front that little bit, but really I used yours as a bench mark to learn from, so here's to Adam, (if his got internet in there) David
  11. I have not taken a photo of the fuel cell yet, I will tidy the paint up and get apicture or two. David
  12. a picture of me car , and the time slip
  13. Mate spend money on good tyres, that is the main difference, then the suspenion gets done to stop tramp and to suit the cornering grip of the new tyres, without good grip, you get no where. I know a guy that has a full tein adjustable kit off his F6 for sale (in cab adjustable) David
  14. Thanks guy's, it forums like this that make us push these harder, to find out limits, and to find faults with these cars, so we all go faster, I will try to answer the questions, the suspenion is stock all round (12000klm old) shocks are stock as well. the car was putting out 427rkws it was having valve spring isues, I was going to take it to 450 as I had it at the dyno comp, but the valves would float and the lifters would pump up, so it would drop to about 4 cylinders for a few seconds, I should have spent some time machining the lifters so they can't pump up, but I was lazy, left everything to the last minute as usual and it had isues. (note to myself do thing properly next time) for the best because I would have been kicked off for not having a paracute (my ultimate goal) Mods; c4, 3000 stall, 60lb injectors, atomic valve springs, Process west stage 3 race kit (including the plenum, can't be to bad) t51r turbo, 6boost exhaust manifold, 4inch exhaust, (By Mick Zamit racing) 10.5 inch X 28 slicks with front runers, 8inch rims, no pas seat no back seat, some other little things out because I have not put then back in yet since the cage has been done. fuel tank in the boot now, 19.5 psi boost. race fuel c16(never used that before, she is good sh-t)!!!! Dominator convertor, A speical mention to Northern Beaches Auto electrics, they donated the turbo and manifold, for the car, just because of there pasion for these cars, not for advertisement, so anyone in Mackay and suroundings, when you need some auto work done (including fitting of intercoolers and other mechenical, go to someone that loves these cars, owns these cars, I am not just talking about them, I am talking about all around Australia, if they don't own one of these cars, there behind the 8 ball to start with. will do a leak down and comp test on the motor, and see if she is still sweet and then I will decide weather to punish it a bit more, stock motor kicked off for not having a paracute has a nice ring to it. David
  15. Well my car Held together for another night, I drove it to the track and back, full exhaust, slicks and front runners were put on at the track, I put race fuel in it when I got there, and let her rip, she ran a 10.2 at 135 first pass 9.94 at 137.4 mph second run (1.43 60ft) 10.0 at 137.1 mph last run I creped on the line this run and set the light, so the 60ft was slower, but would have been a quicker run I beleive. c4 auto, stock tail shaft, stock gears, stock diff(with after market CV's) best of all the motor is a 120000klm old BA motor that the last owner use to leave the oil changes for the next owner to do, but has ATOMIC valve springs in it.the car has some weight out of it, standed driver seat, no pas seat or back seat, but has got a 6point rollcage in it now, but still would be a bit lighter then stock I think. sorry if I am going on a bit, but I am very proud of this. David
  16. go to there site, palmyra dragway, and they have all there test and tunes and proper meets there as well.they are very regular at the moment. David
  17. there should be some good meets to go to down here over the next couple of months, be good to give your car afair track to test it out on. David
  18. Howdid you end up going? David
  19. At least you were there having fun, what mph did it get to, that's the real power indicator, the time can go up in smoke with a bad track. David
  20. no that is Nathens car, he had just ran a 11.2 at 125mph, with a slow 60ft, so he tried to stall it harder does not know how far he pushed it to, but it broke stalling to launch, not in the burnout. David
  21. I have not done an auto FG F6 yet, so I can't realy say, but can't see why it should not be able to be stoped. when I do one I will let you know. David
  22. Anyone know the 60ft the car ran, on the 9.3 run? David
  23. Well done to all involved, come on 8's David
  24. make sure you leave the rain up at tully, when you head to the track. David
  25. just tuned one the other day, it was a xt, he used the standed loom, put a 9 lb actuator on, and a blead valve(controlled boost manualy, and put a process west kit on it, (auto stock) he ran it at the drags last week with just street tyres, spun to half track, and ran 13.00 @120mph auto feels fine, and is handling the power nicely, with the right settings in the tune.
