I should be able to find out tonight, if I got my holiday's,
-
Nick, does this mean you could not get friday as well, how many can you fit in, if it is only sat,
-
nice power, have you got the boost Graph?
-
The date has been set. August 5 and 6. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi, I am thinkink of coming down to get my t edited , and my brothers GT as well, I am putting in for holidays, and have to see what happens with that. was wondering if there is a street meet on down there on the friday or sat? we could test the tunes, It's a big trip, about 3000k round trip, so it would be good to try and brake something while I am there,
-
yeah mate got a couple of good starting points by that I mean every car has been different!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks, I will see if we can organise it, it run's good it just needs a tidy up, and ratio calabration.
-
Hi yes they are exspensive, but I have nexus boost, pyro, and fuel preasure, and to me, I have found them to be very good, I like the play back, I can do a quarter run then play back and see if I got any boost spikes or high exhaust temp, and if I lost any fuel preasure on the run, they also light up red on the run if my engine reaches any warning peaks, so you are not just getting gauges,
-
Hi Nick, have you played with the Gt/ xr8 edit, yet, my brother might do the trip.
-
good luck Ian, I hope you do well, if I was'nt so far away, and working, I would be there.
-
Just reading goldbullets comment I might have to to prove my time, it would be interesting with all that cold air, 5000k round trip, might have to meet you halfway.
-
And if I can only get a 1.68 6o ft like you can...! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> IF you were closer I would lend you my convertor, just to see how it would go. I would also like to put the convertor in a totaly stock xr6t, and se if we could drop it into the 12's, I think on agood night and good car, I think it would be possible.
-
that's more like it, tttttttttttttttttttttttttttttimes are tumbling with a mph like you have and a good convertor, some micky streets, yours will have a 11. 4 in it, go on have a go, you know you want to.

I have got my latest timeslip for my xr6turbo auto, pump fuel, street radials, unopened, (standed valvesprings) is this Queenslands quickest street trim ? Sorry about the scan quality, and it is the 11.787 @ 114.22 slip. yeh I red lighted.
-
I have a three grand stall, standed auto, with the line preasure lifted, and micky thompson street radials, it is running on bp ult pump fuel.

Hi Good luck on your runs on Friday night I hope it turns out for you. I think I have some info you might be interested in. I ran my xr6turbo last night, it has between 274 and 280 rkw, still with standed valve springs, and the slowest it ran in the afternoon was a 11.99 112 mph. and the best was a 11.78 at 114.22 mph, that's up here in North Queensland, there was a lot of shocked ls1 guy's. the best 60ft was 1.68 so it was leaving like a jet. so with the same power down south and a good convertor, you should have it in the bag. I will put my time slip up when I get home tomorow. David

Hi this is only my opinion, but I would not touch the exhaust without an edit or exede or the like, with one of these I would change the cat and either adapt it to the standed pipes or get a center section like what mrt sell. but at under 260 rwkw you would only be doing it for noise. hope this helps
-
Thanks Mr turbo, I would like your MPH (118) but I think that is valve spring country.

Hi Adam, I have found that there can be good traction at the drags , but any wheel spin will slow your 60ft times, if it spins at 2000 , try 1800, my car when it was standed, would not hold traction at 2100, but 1800 I ran a 2.034 60ft. the other thing that can cause trouble, is if your tune comes in too strong down low, (under 4000) if your tune is set to around 11psi up to 3800-4000, and then comes in at what ever you run, the car will hook up better on the street and the track on standed tyres, then through the gears your car does not drop down to that lower rev, about 4300 I think so you are on max power from then on. hope this helps. David

Thanks Craig and Nick, Nick, my idle is still inconsistant, but I did improve it a bit by increasing timming at idle and just below, and a fraction richer, and closed the plug gaps to .8 from .9. this all seemed to help but I think is only a bandaid. I checked all my connections, and some other things, but could not find a fault, On my last post I did not mention that I have my cat gutted to, and I feel this could be a bit of my problem at idle. I think the oxygen sencer does not get a clear signal, so it leans it off too much and creates a missfire. I will try a better flowing cat on it soon and see what happens. thanks for your help to nick. David

that's a great time hopefully you'll be able to get an 11 next time out. What sort of tyres were you using and whats been done to the auto. What other mods do you have? What sort of power do you have cause that's a great 60', whats your secret??? Geea. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Craig, Last time I put it on the dyno it pulled 274kw, but played with the tune myself since a bit and put a cat back twin 21/5 inch exhaust on it, it has a pwr intercooler on it, injectors fuelpump and exede, I have a 3000 stall and I ran micky thompson street radials on it, I run standed air box with a could air duct going under light, it had bp ult in it, I would gess it has about 280kw now, and it runs 12 psi boost, but on gear changes it spikes to about 14psi for from the extra load, the convertor and the tyres are the reason for the 60ft time. the auto has line pressures lifted and the convertor, but also has a oil coolerfor the trany. I think Craigs old car ran about the same mph (115) with about the same power (280 I think) and it seems this power is not over kill for the auto with the line preasures lifted, (so far any how) I am hoping to go back to the drags next weekend, and it is a proper meet, so the traction might be better, (I broke traction a when I stalled it harder, I think it could have a 1.70 60ft in it if traction permits.) I have set my car so to lift the hood, it looks standed . I forgot to mention that I put a 2 pound extention spring on the wast gate to stop it from getting pushed open from the exhaust preasure,(because of the standed inlet pipe work restriction. (it did not want to go over 10 psi without this) air fuel ratio is about 12.4. I would like to thank this Forum for the imformation that has lead to my car going this hard, and I hope what I have told you helps someone else. Hopping for 11's David

I went to a street meet on friday night and my xr6t ran a new PB of 12.014 @ 114.55 mph, it ran a 60ft of 1.77 on that run, but the run before it ran 1.74 60ft so an 11 is there for the taking. so close to a 11, but so far, I have to drive 650 klm round trip to go to the drags so it is a tease to be that close to a 11. anyway my tappet cover has never been removed at all, (standed springs) and did it with pump fuel on street legal radial tyres. is this the quickest time for an unopened xr6t. I raced gtr's and wrx's and supra tt's and someother v8's and it wipped them all. an xr6t is now the fastest street car in Mackay (running pump fuel and street radials) and 3rd over all on street (Two above me run on methenal) GO THE T

And a lower first gear, means they can run a tighter touque convertor, wich means better fuel economy.
-
Big effort, hope it all works out. I think the c 4 is the way to go,

I think Renata knows the potential or your xr6t, and wants to explore that fully first. Being an enthuisest an all, you can't blame a girl for that now can you.
