  1. Best car I have ever had, it met it's fist Quarter at 4 day's old, and has done about 200 quarter's since, has not been back to ford for repairs does not seem to have a diff wine (I might have to listen a bit harder by the sounds) still cannot believe a standed car can take so much without braking, the car when drivng slow seems like new, the car brakes loose at a stab of the throttle, then drives away as calm and composed, (blow this, I'm going for another drive) I think when I update to another car, it has big shoes to fill.
  2. I think it has been dead for a while, but not everyone has smelt it that's all.
  3. Hi, Peasoup, (were you eatting at the time)sounds good, but why the restriction on the tyres, if you want to get the best time out of a BA, why handycap it at all, I have not tryed 28/10 slicks under mine, but my 275x 17 mt's fit easly, so it will not take much to fit 28x 10's under it,( might just have to control the sqaut, the standed car has when leaving the line that's all,(compared to the trouble some other cars have anyway,) if someone can jam a bigger set under it without modding it to much I feel that should be it's advantage (big car, heavy car, big gaurds, big slick's, ) that's my 2 cent's for what it's worth. David
  4. Well done, big effort and got the result,
  5. get the head reconed to suit unleaded, (if not allready done ) shave head, to lift compression to about 10 to1. put small cam in, (one that makes good power to 5000rpm) 63 main jets in 350 holly, or if you get hold of a 500 2 barrel holly, run 74 jets in that, and run it on pulp fuel, when you are flogging it, but you will be able to ski with norm unleaded to, with that compression. then prop too suit the 5000 rpm mark. with that power improvement you might not have to change props, because if close to standed now it will only go to about 4500rpm. but if not you can get your prop adjusted to suit your rpm for about $80.00 or so.hope this helps David
  6. No that wasn't me! But I am going out on Wensday 19th July to have a go. Still running Standard Box (yarra valley) NOS is on the car 75 shot 25 psi on about 560rwkw. Lets see what happens Regards Spiro <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good luck on wed night Spiko, come on 9's
  7. 11.81 1.78 60ft Well done, if that is standed stall, that is a very good 60ft Rob, if it is with a big stall, that could be where the 3 mph went.
  8. Best car I have ever owned, had some idle isues, but blamed them on mods, but I have never had a car that got so fast with so little, all other cars seem slow.
  9. Just a bit of info for you to mention to them, I had the same prob for a while. and while I was looking for the problem, the things I looked for is loose hose, or partly off. the bov bypassing, but the other test I did was to kink off the waste gate hose, to see what boost the exhaust preasure would push it open, had to be carefull (all done on the dyno) and it went straight to 24psi, so backed off. it seems that some boost soliniodes. bypass more air then others, so it was getting pushed open. this seemed inconsistent. so I put a extenion spring on the waste gate to give it extra tenion (about 3 pound) so bying a higher preasure wastegate actuater would do the same thing, anyway although I had to adjust my tune, this solved my boost problem, it is holding 13psi now. I had heard that it was exhaust preasure opening the waste gate, but in my case anyway it was boost preasure bypassing the boost soliniode, David
  10. Sounds good Craig, I run with almost full tank, and yes that costs about a tenth of sec, I would be very interested in what you have done any wieght we can take out of these heavy cars has got to help,
  11. Mine knows I have mucked around with it,does not know why I would want to do that to a new car. thinks it feels a bit lazy, when going slow(3000 stall) but likes the new over taking ability.
  12. Thanks Boost So whats on the cards for your next mod mate? IC? Rob... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My plan was to run a 11 this year, then a ten next year, hopefully with standed internals(except valve springs) but if I can't run a ten with about 320rwks, street trim, I will change them, then a 9 the year after, 1sec ayear is my goal, (for four years anyway) all this will be done by others by then but they are personal goals, and I am hopeing the auto''''s will be able to cope by then. I have a pwr cooler now Rob, I done this early because of the extra heat up north here, makes the standed cooler much small. could you show your power graphs of psi , a/f, after your new tune, good luck with your times, I hope you nock a tenth or two off mine, David
  13. the M/T's are quite soft arnt they.
  14. hope all go well Rob (mr turbo) you have the MPH for it. I have changed my valve springs last weekend , just in case I am able to get to brissy next month for a tune. but I will be running my car on the 30th of july, so I will see if they are my Hand brake or not, I hope so, but in just driving it does not feel any better, but I suppose it gets rid of another excuse
  15. I have ran 11.7 @ 114 with standed valve springs, I have felt after playing with my tune that this is all that is possible. but since I have been told by a tunner of the edit that this can be streched further, and I have no reason to dis beileve this, however, I can say that in my case there was no need to change them before 270rwks, it is worth remembering that they get pushed open at seat , from preasure not so much at the full lift of the cam, and this is not as damaging as valve bounce. this is because it relieves the preasure, so hurts power more than anything else. with those times , and mph,Adams car would run 10's, on pump fuel. should give it a go sometime.
  18. Well done Gold bullet, that's a good time first out , hope all hooks up next week.
  19. Well done Craig, there's a ten in there with a 1.60 60ft,

    New Record

Well done that's more like it, anyone know his 60 ft?
  21. Yes I am going to try and get down to brisbane, but as of yet they have not gave me the holiday's, I naged them the other night, but they said if I want an answer straight away it will be no, so I shut up and am waiting for there answer. I wonder what they will say when they see your car with edit run, I don't see what is so hard to believe about my times, if I get an edit, and get 320rwk she should get a 10, what are you getting done, edit only , I would incourage you to get injectors as well, because it might be a long time before you can get a good tuner again.
  22. I would think 35psi is about on the mark, gives a nice ride , and wears good to.
  23. I will not be there this test tune, I don't live in Mackay, I am 300k's away, but if you can't make the big one on the 30th, I will catch up at another one. the best advise with out being there is, get there early, lift your hood and get rid of heat soak, let it sit for atleast 1 hr, I give my motor and intercooler, and pipe work a light spray with water, don't do it near staging lanes, they don't like it' keep your hood open until you are near the front, do burn out, to clean tyres (not as big as I do) and when you stage, set one light, and then creep foward till you just set the second light,(called shallow staging) this gives you a slight head start before lights are triped.remember to turn traction controll off, whether auto or man, the best time will be the hardest takeoff with out any wheel spin, if auto, if car is near standed just put in performance mode, and let it do it own thing, stage last, and as soon as the two light come on, stall car to 2000, if it spins, try a bit less next time, if no spin try abit more. (if you leave on the 2 last yellow, it will not give you a faster time , but you will pull a good light, and get a head start on the other guy. hope this helps good luck. ps which meet were you at , my xr6t shocked a lot of peple, good to here from someone on this site, who saw my runs, helps others down south believe what I say, other wise I could be making it all up.
  24. Hi, on the 30th of july, there is a drag meeting in Mackay, Queensland street car mag is going to be there, anyway anyone who make the trip to that meeting, I will let them have a go with my nitto tyres, and pass on any tips on drag racing. this is for xr6t cars only, the reason I am doing it is to try and get more xr6t's to the meeting, and you get the chance to set your own pb. post in here if any one is interested, it not that far from townsville, for good traction, and a good track. David
  25. Wow, might be a bit of a list there Jeff ,
