here is my time slip, and dyno sheet, I did not bother changing some of the mods on the sheet, so don't go by them. 10.51 @ 128.37mph and 385rwks standed BA internals race trim. David
-
thanks
-
has anyone got the number for AWC? Thanks David
-
it was a optional extra, you should have read the small print. David
-
I used a dominator convertor, and I can't believe it made 385rwks on 15.7psi, it must be a good combo if it lost more power. David
-
I will give them a go Kent, but I think 9's are to much for my rig(with the stock motor anyway), but we will see if we can get it a bit lower anyway, I wonder if jeff will still buy the motor, if a rod is hanging out the side. David
-
yeh it is not big power, and it was very hard to not go mad with it, but that is a lot for a BA. so I thought being conservitive and look at other ways to get there was the go for starters, the car was running 16psi, now it has run that time and was able to still drive home, I might just lift the power another 20-30 kws and see what happens. with the gearing, I am thinking of going to 3.23 gears, or go to 28inch high slicks, because I dont think just reving this motor higher is the answer, that said it sounded like it was loving it, (well maybe not the rods) time will tell if it is a good idea or not. the car would have been about 1780kg I think with me in it, but I did not weigh it. thanks for the replies. the ute is kents it ran 10.55 @ 128mph (sliping convertor)1.65 60ft I think it has a lot more in it. had 437rwks when it ran that run. yep pete's got me old blue one, everything is as it ran, it had a Nizpro stage 2, and a genie twin 21/2 inch exhaust. and water injection. gee, that twin race looks cool, wish I beat him but. if I did not sit on the line for so long,I might have had a chance, got him on the time (just) I had just as much fun seeing Kent run well, he has put a lot into that project, nealy giving up a few times, now, I think he has 9's in his sight's. a week a go he did not think it was posible. WELL DONE KENT. and thanks to Dean for the video, that is not a bad phone. David

yeh, and a big thanks to you Mick for doing my exhaust, and all the other gear you helped me with, there is no way this car would be going without you. David
-
have not decided, a cage has to go in now before I can run again but this combo has a 10.3 in it,but I will have to rev it higher(I was on the 6300 limiter before the end of the track and I don't realy want it to blow apart on me at 135mph. so I will think about putting my good motor in it or sqease the old BA motor a bit more.
-
I start to go out to work then, it was running 385rwks c4 and stall no pas seat or back seat slicks and front runers standed diff and tail shaft and a stock internal motor (with valve springs) the motor has done 105000 klms and race fuel process west stage 3 intercooler kit, and a 6boost manifold and a t51r turbo and a 4inch full exhaust. proceswest surge tank I drove it to the track and back again but changed the tyres there. I ran my BA xr6t tonight race trim, and she ran 10.51 @129mph with a standed internal BA motor it ran a 10.75 a 10.71 and a 10.51 1.56 60ft I have to go to work at 2am, so I have to go now, will be back in 4 day's also Kent ran 10.77 10.66 10.66 and 10.55 in his xr6turbo ute, atomic motor Mackay North Queensland David

Beginners Guide To Snapping A Tailshaft In Half
blueboost replied to CSV_LS1's topic in Drag and Circuit Racing
so I take it, it's boosting off the line now? sorry to here it let go though. David -
the disadvantage there would be to the auto, not the manual. the auto would be behind about 7-10kws, mostly because of the extra power to run the oil pump and convertor loss. not because of the gearing. the auto would lose 2-3kws I think from the gearing this is only rough estermint from tuning them both. David

do the exhaust when you do the injectors. it will over boost. if you want noise for now, remove the centre mufler, that gives you noise, without messing up the tune, or power. David
-
I will pm you on that, because the difference that yours made is a mod in that tune I think, the base one I used, (you know what I mean) and I don't know if they would like me to tell everyone about it. no I don't think it is the exhaust or fuel, the cat is the most restrictive part, I think with both gutted, the 3.5 will flow the best.imo David
-
yeh I have, when I go down the dyno, I might over lay yours and his if you want. but there is another reason that your car pulled away after peak power I think, and I will try this before I coment. David
-
3rd is best while low power and torque, but to hard to hook up once the power is this high imo. the dyno does not realy show the full difference between intercoolers, because you are only taking about 10 sec, to do a run. if we held it for 30 sec at full power, you would see the benifit of a big intercooler. that is the highest I have seen on our dyno, with no mod to the turbo (flow wise),on 98octane, but the turbo is out at this power, so the gains are small, when you put larger intake and intercooler on. The real gains are out on the road, where the intake temps are kept lower. David
-
why bother trading, you can put yours back to stock and have that power. mmmm, 500nm again, wouldnt that be nice? not hard to get up to speed with them things, the speed is pretty low. they look tough in the black though don't they, I do like the sound of the lumpy idle, just like it to be someone elses car now im so old that's all,its good to have something slow and inefficent sometimes. have a race with it, you will see what I mean. David
-
ha, you might be right there. but I remember you complaining that your xforce dump sounded a bit tiny, yours is a limo next to that thing, ok I will admit it, we are both getting old. David
-
pull three plug leads off yours, and take the exhaust off at the dump, justin, and it to can sound like that to. the under bonnet noise is terrible, the ve is to good a car to go so old school for a new car, it sound shocking, I would still own a hg monaro, or a xy, if I liked them running that bad. sorry Justin, but you would to after a week of driving it. David

Russel ran a 13.2 up in townsville the other week, his best mph was 108mph (1.8 something 60ft),all his best figures were in diferent runs, he was letting it change itself with that, standed airbox, but with exhaust and tune,he made 265rwks,(6speed auto) with bluepower airbox, and rev it a bit more, each gear, and it will run a mid 12, at 112mph. the boss has to be reved out to about 6400rpm, to get it on the power band for the next gear, the owner did not want to risk his oil pump gears. David

if you have a look at the kph, they are the same, so the car had the same power, a stock bf xr6t was running around 163kph, so there is a big improvement, the rest is down to driver. you all will fine the same thing if you go to the drags, one person will run a 12.9, and anouther one with the same car, will run a 14.2, so what we are seeing now in the kph figures are; xr6t 172kph f6 179 kph GT 169kph GTS 167kph xr8 will be about 163 kph, this shows real hp. David

very good advise. David

sounds like the lockup releasing as you give it a bit, then locking up again, sounds all normal, don't stress, David
