If youre using either of these I'd be interested in your experiences as I'm planning to put one of these beside a boost gauge in the ute. The aim is to monitor performance and help me preserve my engine. I have heard that the AFR gauges can be a bit slow to react and have seen modified gauges around that apparently "have had their internals expertly modified so that they display at 5 times the resolution of the stock gauge, with accuracy and incredible speed". This would assume the use of a narrow-band O2 sensor I guess? ...or do we already have one?! It sounds like a bit of stuffing around and I have read comments like "next to useless" and "enjoy the flashing lights" in some posts that came up in my search. Then again, if an AFR gauge can tell me if I have a dodgy batch of low RON fuel or that I'm running close to the wind with hight afr's, it would be a really valuable indicator that I'd use. The alternative is the Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) or pyrometers gauge. This would be useful to not only indicate dangerous overheat conditions but could be used for monitoring the reult of the air/fuel mixture. Seems simple enough - but I wonder if the reaction time is sufficient to provide warning of overly lean ratios. If AFR is the best bet, I'll probably go for Stewart Warner or Cobalt Autometer. If EGT is going to do the trick, the Autometer Nexus will fit the bill (a large one at that once the controller etc. is taken into account!) - shame there isnt a Nexus AFR gauge! Thanks in advance for any experiences or opinions you can share... Ben

Got booked yesterday :( 64 in a 50 zone ($150 and 3 points... jeez!) Queensland: 0-12 over $80 1 point 12-24 over, $150 and 3points... dont want to know after that...!!! Apparently the 50 zones in towns arent even signposted here in QLD as they are in NSW. Came off a "designated 60 street" onto a side street (all of which are 50 zones apparently ) 100m up and waved over.... thought it must have been a breath test!

Just had this happen too - there was an e-clip fixing the wastegate actuator in place under the dump pipe - after it came loose - no boost.... a real bugger to get to, so try all your plumbing first.... good luck!!!

grab a tripod mate - will make a huge difference - alternatively, find something that is rock solid you can rest the camera against like a wall... see how that goes... I dug through my digital archives to find this... it was taken on a 2.1Mpix Canon S10... no grain... plenty of detail and not dark... 2 second exposure according to the EXIF data on the file... no flash. ...just a tripod...

yep - back in the days when 2.1MegaPixel cameras were considered top stuff - we were printing them up with no grain at all... It all comes down to lens quality - good glass will give you clean images. Sure if you set gain too high youll also pull grain... nasty - keep the cam set at ISO100 speed - not auto to get around this I carry a Casio ExZ750 7.2mp 3x optical in the car all the time. 640x480 video is pretty handy too and with a 2Gig SD card I get 2 hours of good quality video or hundreds of images. Zoom is crap but that's what I have the 6Mp Minolta 7D and the serious glass for.... I find www.dpreview.com a bloody good site with quality reviews... Have been shooting professionally for 12 years now, if anyone has any specific q's, feel free to PM me

...better ride, better handling?
-
Okay - need to clarify - I cant really go lower, which seems to be anything I could find in the thread search. As it is I have a pretty steep driveway and have had to grind an inch of concrete off the lip to get in! What options have we got - are there any kits etc. that people have or know of?

good arent they!!! stainless braided lines help the pedal feel too... probably not a bad time to invest in some good wheel cleaner and wheel wax now Cro! B

From Kumho... "The ECSTA MX-C is identical to the popular ECSTA MX, KUMHO’s top-of-the-line street tire. The MX-C has additional chemicals in the compound that produce either red or blue smoke. The MX-C was initially produced in limited quantities and in only one size--255/40R17—the size that Enjuku Racing needed for its drift cars."

Link - did you fit your own???

 - not sure if we're all talking about the same tyre here but anyway... I agree that the 326's and 115s are not a good tyre. I am happy with my 451's - maybe others havent had such a good run though by the sounds of things??? BTW I came across an intersting test comparison - hope its not a repost?? test_spa_0403_enen.pdf 452's have been released in Europe... http://www.falken-europe.de/enen/content_p...news_enen.shtml ... will be intersting to see how these go...

why They're crap? They smoke good though! And seem to be lasting OK too! Should have elaborated a little more, the Falkens I have wrapped around my 18s are perfectly fine when stationery... move the car, particularly around twisty stuff and the bastards forget the idea of grip... worse still it's the front end that looses it... I run them at 42psi so if anyone has any suggestions that'd be good... Wet weather driving is a different story altogether... Which Falkens?? - I'm running the FK451's and I reckon theyre great The 326's and 115's are much cheaper but arent much good according to the tyre guys I use....??? How can they be great? They arn't even as good as the standard dunlops, and they are completely sh*t. According to who?? - Sorry dont agree m8....

After writing off a couple of pairs of undies I got myself the PBR's through BCR01 (top bloke BTW). They took a couple of hours to fit and bed in - money well spent. No more brake fade, a little more brake dust, but that just means theyre working and reminds me its time to wash the ute! Its one thing to make these tanks go quick - pulling them up deserves just as much attention IMO. Got the PBR's...

...post #95... "As you can see from the photos there wasn't a great deal of grinding to do, and I just loosened the power steering cooler clamps and slid the pipes towards the drivers side about 10mm. I also had to very carefully bend the lower air-con condenser fitting towards the passengers headlight, but it didn't look like it was in the right position to start with. I replaced the spring clamp on the lower cooler hose with a real one and relocated the horn under the drivers side headlight. I'm not sure where ASE put the horn (I didn't have instructions) but it seemed like as good a spot as any. I just had to make an extension wire."
