~67,000... I bought it at ~53,000 at the start of 2011, it's just a weekend car and the odd midweek drive so I don't really clock up the km's

No worries mate, like I said in the email it hasn't been an issue as I haven't needed them, just thought I had better check that I wasn't looking in the wrong spot or something.. You can call whenever

Hey guys, finally got my car modded after a couple of years of owning it. It's a BFII MK2 XR6T built after 06/06, it's got the ZF and the only mods before this were DBA4000 T3 rotors and braided brake lines. Ended up going with: Process West Stage 2 intercooler Nizpro exhaust Turbo port and flapper, 12psi actuator ID1000s Walbro fuel pump F6 snorkel Ended up with 319 kw and 637nm at 15psi, valve springs and the stock air box/crossover holding it back from more. Speaking with Mick before the tune though we agreed to something around this mark anyway as it's already a huge jump over stock and I wasn't chasing a specific number, but obviously there is plenty of room for more power in the future with the parts I've already got. Also got a service, transmission service and diff bushes replaced at the same time so it really was like a new car at the end. The tune is perfect, behaves exactly like stock except for when you put your foot down. So another +1 for Pitlane and thanks to Mick, Belinda and the guys

Sorry for the bump guys but my gauges arrived today, so I just need to decide on what method I use for the sensors, either 2x T pieces or a sandwich plate, so any big issues with using the 2x T pieces method?
-
Hey guys, did a bit of a search and came across exactly what I was thinking of doing, one of these fitted between collar and stock sensor, then one of these coming out of that with my aftermarket oil pressure and temp sensors, however then I noticed this... Just wondering if this has been an issue for anyone? Also does having the one T-piece into the other take up too much room and impact on any other components near the sensor? Haven't seen one in the flesh so not sure how much space they take up cheers

Hey guys, I know this has been done a million times before, but I thought I'd do it one more time. It's time to do some mods on my BFII XR6T, this is what I'm thinking Injectors - Haven't decided on type Fuel pump - Haven't decided on type Cat/exhaust - Undecided on whether I just want to get a faster flowing cat, or change the whole exhaust Intercooler - Process West stage 2 Induction - Thinking just stock airbox with F6 second snorkel and a tune obviously Also thinking about adding some Whiteline sway bars, seem to be good value for money when it comes to handling I'll leave the undecided items up to the tuner, which is most likely going to be Bluepower Not chasing a figure, and would rather have a safer tune than push any components to their limits, but I'm thinking I should easily get over 300kw, so yeah, anyone got anything to add, my main worry is the stock airbox won't provide enough airflow Also I should probably ask in the PW forum or directly but can you get their intercoolers in black? Cheers

All done, decided not to fit the Earls kit and just remove the filter, it didn't look blocked but best to remove it anyway, was quite easy with the airbox removed, didn't need to get under the car at all. I just reused the existing washers, thought I had an oil leak as after the I ran the engine for a bit to check for leaks, there was a few drops on the ground afterwards, but after driving around today I haven't seen any drops at all, so it may have still been oil from the initial removal of the oil line from the fitting, will pay attention over the next few days to make sure

Hey guys, I'm going to give this a go in the next couple of days, I've bought the Earls kit but I'm undecided if I'll install it or simply remove the filter from the existing line, I've seen plenty of posts saying either is fine so I guess I'll see how I feel on the day Anyway, my questions are: I was looking for the Loctite sealant mentioned but couldn't find it anywhere, so I bought some Permatex High Temperature Thread Sealant, says it's rated to a max temp of 204°C, should this be fine? Also, I've read some posts where people are purchasing new washers, some are reusing the existing ones, I was hoping to just use the existing ones to avoid a trip to Ford Parts if they should still be fine to use, thoughts? Cheers

What Gauges Does Everyone Use

Got my Pole Position tripod, looks awesome and as close to stock as one could hope, now to sort out what gauges. No rush though, keep saving moneys in the meanwhile -

Ahh I had just heard/read that mechanical boost gauges gave a better result, if a elec stepper motor type will give just as good a result, I will go with one of them then. Found a doco from ozegauge that includes install instructions and what you mention with the brass tee piece to the turbo or oil pressure switch www.ozegauge.com.au/docs/All_sm_type.doc Drift iridium look really cool, money isn't really too much of an issue, and the pole position tripod looks like it's the way to go Cheers for the advice so far -
What Gauges Does Everyone Use

Hey guys, It's getting time to do some mods, one of the first things I want to do is install some gauges. I have two questions, I've already done plenty of searching through and google-ing and just after some more specific answers First question, which gauge holder to use? I want it to still look factory, so does that mean waiting around for an FPV one to pop up for sale? I've seen the SS inductions ones but they screw in which I don't like, which leaves the pole performance tripod and the xcite dual. I like the idea of the pole performance as it holds 3, and looks fairly factory from what I can see, ie colour matching and shape, but I can't access their website or anything, are they still around? Second question, what gauges. I'm thinking autometer cobalts as they are getting good reviews and match the XR blue pretty well, what about ozegauges? They look good, but reading the FAQ on their site it mentions that you can't wire it up to the factory dimming because of the circuitry inside them, is that so? Also, what actual gauges to get, mechanical boost obviously, and I'm thinking elec oil pressure and the for third (assuming I get the tripod) either oil temp, air/fuel or trans temp, any thoughts? Install looks relatively straight forward, just a pain to get all the wires etc around. T-piece for the boost, and a oil pressure sandwich plate for the oil, which just fits in with the oil filter from what I can see? Anyway, any help would be much appreciated, thanks -
hey guys, yeah the one from doncaster, was the best I've seen in my 6 months of looking so, was a winner in my eyes. She's beautiful, not one issue with her, and they run a pretty good operation at the dealer I got it from, as good as dealers can be haha... Paid 26k in the end, which might be a bit expensive compared to others of the same vintage but like I said, she was the best I've seen, and the breeze won me over. FG would be good but for a car I only drive 2-3 times a week it wasn't really worth it. I'm in vic, obviously haha...

Hey guys, just got my new car, a 2007 BFII XR6 Turbo, and couldn't be happier. Love the colour (breeze) and all the features, premo sound, climate control, leather seats, the works. Only 50k kms as well so I'll be holding on to her for a while. Can't wait to do some mods, but nothing extreme just yet, got to start saving again haha...

Thanks for the advice guys. I have a fair bit of experience with cars, grandfather was a mechanic so he taught me a fair bit, and the old man owns a BA SR so I've been around a BA a bit, not a turbo though. Time to upgrade from the old EF now. Going to steer clear of that one, looked a bit too dodgy, found pretty much exactly the same car, but with only 50k on the clock, and with a tow bar, for only a couple of grand more. So going for a look and drive tomorrow. No encumbrance on this one They wanted around $17k for the first one. Is a BF that much better? I've found a few around my price range $20k but they all have reasonably high kms. I would love the 6 speed auto but it's not a must have.

Haha good point mate, got a bit overzealous and made the post, then found some good threads to read. One question though, I did a Vicroads check on the car, it all checks out apart from it has an encumbrance recorded against it. The car is at a dealer, but the encumbrance is registered by another dealer, dodgy? The current registration details are of the dealer it is located at. If a car is at a dealer, it should have no encumbrance, yeah?
