  1. I can't imagine it making the note any deeper, but yes will keep the cops happy lol.
  2. What tyres did you end up going for? Do vertini not make machine face with black background anymore? or did you just choose the silver versions?
  3. Tell her you'll let her drive it once a month if you can keep it lol
  4. Don't worry about hotdogs, no need with rear muffler removal. Should save some more coin there
  5. Something else to add on the cost of keeping it is in the interest on the mortgage that you'll save from putting the money from the car onto it. So you got ~$1000p/a insurance ~$1200p/a rego ~$1800 (saved on mortgage assuming $30k for car @6% interest on mortgage) Tell the mrs that if she lets you sell the car and put the money on the mortgage, you'll save approx $4k a year. $4k a year over the next 5 years goes a long way towards a new toy to play with in the future. Now that's logic speaking, but after seeing the build on this car through the forum, its come a long way and would be hard to let go.
  6. +1 for colour! Reckon they're much better than the 6/4 brembos?
  7. What brand of tyre you using? Looks like a really rounded side wall which would be good safety against gutters etc, or were the tyres just not pumped right up before they were on the car? go SSL all round. No risk of scraping at all. I have sssl front and 4sl rear and on 20's and I only scrape mudflaps but the rest of the car is fine.
  8. ^ Appropriate lol. What tyre pressures were you running? Could this be a factor in the tyre wall getting damaged. Given the achilles have a high treadwear gets me a bit worried that the longer you have the tyres on the more chance of stuff like this happening.. Is there any sort of warranty for things like this?
  9. I would look at doing something like that ^^. I did my rear muffler with my old mans help for $80 including tip. We didn't worry about flanging it because if I really didn't like it that much I was just going to buy a new rear section from a wrecker.
  10. I think you'll only need guard rolling if your cars lowered. Should only need the lips rolled but no pumping. As for tyres I've heard some pretty ordinary things about the 595's, maybe look to achilles or something, better value for money
  11. I think cooler alone I'd be asking about $700ish as mentioned. Given I've started looking at mods for next year I would probably pay around that given the lack of good second hand coolers for sale and a new core alone is $1100. Send me a pm in about 2 months, I should be looking for a cooler about then lol
  12. I used to have ssl 's all around on my BA and it was still like half an inch from tucking tyre on the rear. front wasn't too bad though. I would probably go ssl front and sssl to be safe but if you want it tucking tyre heaps I would go au's in the rear and sssl up front
  13. Yea definitely get some lowered shocks. Monroe gt sports have been good for me. A lot of others out there aswell. Be prepared for guard work going that low though
  14. Rear muffler removal for me and its a pretty good note. Not overly deep but for a 6cyl can't complain at all. Everyone I know with the rear muffler delete is happy with it
  15. Thanks, I guess I'll reapply the naviwax every 3 months. Hopefully getting the car cleaned up this weekend coming! Can't wait
  16. For your price range I would look at FG's and start standard. You'd be surprised how good the little turbo is on the street! Before I bought mine I was already planning to mod but I've been more than happy with the stock power for the last 4 months and only just planning mods for next year. Plus the FG is much more refined interior wise over B series and the resale of FG will be better than B series in the future
  17. Ignore BA because both gearboxes are pretty rubbish. BA MKII got the 6 speed manual pretty sure but it may have been BF. So that'll be a fairly big factor to weigh up. Other than that all those models have slightly weaker engines but no issue if you don't plan to mod. In terms of known faults and issues its sort of hit and miss, just need to look over the car. Things like diff bushes being stuffed etc would be things to look for. Generally speaking if the car looks clean and drives nice then you should be alright.
  18. Pretty sure there's no hard evidence to support your bov theory. Yes it makes sense logically that the air being pushed back onto the turbo will create premature wear but no one has proved this yet (from what iv read)
  19. This^ To get the most tyre you can with as little guard work as possible I would go +35 up front and +40 rear, but this is a very 'safe' fitment. If your after aggressive then as above
  20. Yea I'm gonna tape everything myself. I bought the naviwax dark n I intend to reapply every 6 months but will do sooner if need be. I normally wash with either car wash (amorall or the like) or dish washing liquid if iv run out lol. Didn't think about the wax being taken off! Yea I don't use car wash's, don't they use like a truck wash because it's more heavy duty? If I stick to just normal car wash I should be right yea?
  21. That sucks! But even at that price its worth travelling for because you save heaps
  22. Just put it bend half way and let it wrap around. Half front mount, half top mount lol
  23. I haven't even got mine yet but I hope this (^^) doesn't happen
  24. That is ridiculously cheap! Someone jump on that lol
