I'll be spectating thurs, sat and sunday. Any members cars I should keep an eye out for? I'v spectated 5 times before and yea it has its ups and downs. First year with the mrs though so that'll be interesting, glad I know how it all works and where to go so I can keep her safe. Another bonus is that I live across the road from the event so if I need to bail it isn't very hard at all lol I'm going to get a good bargain on some sound system gear and hopefully a basic brake upgrade. Also want to shop around for some other parts. In the pavilions though there are some real works of art and you can appreciate the effort some people have gone to to get their cars looking so good!

As mentioned 27k is a bit of a stretch but good deals always come up if your willing to wait! I was looking for about 12months for a BFII hoping for around 80,000kms, ended up getting a 2008 FG with 78,000, tech pack, 18's and sunroof for $20k, still yet to find one 6 months later as good as a deal as I got so if you really don't have the $$ to spend and your wiling to wait then just keep looking

The Great Rear Camber Adjustment Thread
Bellato replied to Ralph Wiggum's topic in Suspension and Handling
So would say its pretty conclusive Xr6t's up until about April 2004 All F6's -
Hey mate that shunt coming off hard acceleration is quite normal, not the diff bush, as was recommended too me could be a stuffed tailshaft coupling but won't really fix it much. Just something you learn to live with. Now after a couple of months of my problem being solved I'm afraid its returned! Going to have a look and see if the diff bush was installed wrong and has shagged itself, plus going to check on the exhaust to make sure its not bouncing around. Other option Im thinking is might be a stuffed shock/shocks in the rear, but haven't noticed any oil leaking from them. Will post up whether its just paranoia or whether theres a problem somewhere

Gentech isn't cheap labour costs (from what I've been quoted) but he ran a full di fillipo exhaust which is a fair bit of coin there on its own. None the less still a great result! Would love to check it out when I'm back in Canberra! Got a dyno sheet to put up?

Thanks guys Hey rancid don't get me wrong it's certainly not perfect but given I have struggled to find even a half decent detailer in Griffith or Canberra I was very limited n wanted it cleaned up asap n this was my best option and it is heaps better so I am happy with the result for what I paid. She did tape everything up to avoid burning any rubber etc but there was still crap all through the gaps in the bonnet, boot, doors etc n If I had of known how bad it would go everywhere I would have taped inside everywhere. Also I personally spent 2-3 hours washing, then claying, then washing the car again before the cut n polish. Not sure if more should have been done but this was all I thought/read should be done I was really cautious applying the wax n wanted to take my time because with the container not being in English I don't really know exactly how to apply it so was going off YouTube clips and forums. But I think I would struggle to do the car in under an hour, maybe I'm applying too thick or spending too much time going over the same panel? Yea the last picture was more just one to show off my car, can't help but being proud of the car I own at 21 and being a Uni student lol I agree with the wool pad firstly, when I saw it I was a bit hesitant but I wasn't really in a position to tell her she was doing it 'wrong'. And I noticed she didn't wipe down after each stage which I figured would be bad because surely you need to take the cutting compound off to then do swirl remover so your not gong back over with the cutting compound? If she did my car again I would make sure the cars wiped down after each stage because I think this would have made a difference At the end of the day your perfectly right, it's not a perfect job, but given my options were $350, $200 ($200 this friend doing it on the weekend or $350 was her still doing it just through her bosses business) or not get it done at all, so im happy with the results I got for what I paid.

Not a fan but given they're you're in between wheels wheels, they're alright lol

Go through FG thread, some good pics and info in there to give you ideas

^^^ This! Looking at doing similar (ish) mods and using Gentech aswell so would love to see how they went with it!

Ended up getting a friend whose a panel beater to do it. She did it for $150 and took her about 3ish hours. She used a machine polisher. Wool pad and cutting compound first, then foam pad with swirl remover and finished with polish by hand. Then I did the naviwax myself by hand. Took ages so only got one coat on and going to do another coat when I wash the car next For $200 I'm very happy with the result, except now I see all the stone chips lol
-
So finally got my cut and polish and hit the car with one coat of naviwax afterwards. Overall really happy with the results. Its not quite 100% but for what it cost me I'm stoked. Only thing is Fark what a dog to clean the polish off everywhere once it was done, it was everywhere! Still didn't get all of it and will have to try again this weekend. Anyway here's some before and afters

Has Anyone Bought These Rims Of Ebay? Lm Styling For Fg Sedan
Bellato replied to snake952's topic in Wheels and Tyres
Yep. Go through shoe whore mega thread. Worm had them at one point but had wider ones (he would have posted the offset at some point too) -
Got quoted $600 for adjustable upper control arms installed. They give a couple of degrees of adjustment of camber. Agreed with Senna though toe will have a big factor too. I have neg 1 degree camber on the rear with 255's but the inside is barely wearing more than the outsides. The guy who did my alignment explained how toe is just as much a factor as camber. If you have your print out from your last alignment post it up and senna should be able to tell you if its all good or not

Not today but on the weekend. Got a cut, polish and wax. Forgive the ordinary photos, still trying to learn to use my DSLR

G6E Springs Compared To Standard Springs
Bellato replied to andreew's topic in Suspension and Handling
Pretty sure G series springs are same as the falcon springs, xr ones are slightly lower. If on stock rims ssl(F) and sssl ® kings and you won't have any trouble. If on 19's or 20's with a good amount of tyre then you can go sssl and ssssl. I have this latter combination on 20's and only my mudflaps scrape -
I know what you mean by the drone at 2500 but mines not that loud that I can't concentrate and its only heard when I take off half throttle, any faster or any slower and all good so I rarely even notice it. And it doesn't even come close to as being loud as my old man's GT with herrod extractors back so not cop trouble as a result. I'm happy with mine and definitely sounds better than a v6 commy, it has a deeper note and doesn't have a constant drone at every point in the revs like the commy does

Not today but on sunday installed earls. Took wayyyy too long, could probably do it in 15-20 mins if I had to do it again. Today though I clay barred the car in preparation for a cut and polish this weekend
-
^^ this. Tried DSC off in the wet after owning it for a month, very scary moment lol
-
Smoked black for sure! Ever thought about just tinting your stock tailights? I did it to mine on a black car and it looks way better. Would look really good on your white car!

Just go ssl's all round and depending on your finances choose your shocks. If you haven't got a lot to spend go monroe gt sports but if you got the cash go bilsteins

Help A Noob With Wheel Swap Question
Bellato replied to Turbo Dreamer's topic in Ford 4.0L N/A Discussion
Whee; nuts are definitely the same from BA-FG because I used them on a BA then on FG, I think they're 1/2 inch or something like that. I would just get as mentioned 16 nuts and 4 lock nuts, or if you want taleb tyres on here sell tuner nuts which are essentially all lock nuts and they're $40 a set. I think from memory I paid $15 a tyre for fitting and balance (beaurepaires) and wheel alignment was $60 from Jax quickfit. So definitely should be found cheaper- 15 replies
