  1. Yea they're one of the suggestions made earlier! Hit up taleb tyres (forum sponsor) for a price
  2. +1 for black bars! Black mirrors and black roof next
  3. Well as K31th mentioned, tried what the guys at Aerpro said and no difference at all! Next step might be to temporarily run shorter rca's through the middle of the car (just over the seats) to see if that makes a difference, otherwise it seems like the wires need to be cut closer to the ICC Anyone else had this issue and even found a way to reduce the sound signficantly, if not completely? Just really sucks buying like more than $1500 worth of gear to not get crystal clear sound
  4. Yea they'll be fine! I think most guys run a 275/40/17 as tyre size
  5. Rang the Aerpro dealer and he said to try reduce the input volume on my converter and compensate with higher input gain on my amp so I'll give that a try tonight I wonder what it is that's making the difference doing it this way? I tapped my wires in at the kickpanels and ran the inputs into the converter which sits in my glovebox, then rca's run down left side of the car along with the trigger and power runs down the right side. After trying what the aerpro rep said, might have to give this a try, but gee sounds like a lot more work lol
  6. ^^ + K n N panel filter! Check out first mods thread, should give you everything you need to know plus more
  7. Which bushes? Superpro comfort series seems to be what most people run with!
  8. Should be right at stock height it soon as you lower you'll have problems with the guards hitting
  9. If there's a loose bolt at one of the flanges you should be able to tell where abouts it is by having a good listen with the car jacked up I'd imagine?
  10. Did mine! Make sure they're all electric not mechanical gauges. Took me a few hours n had to do an oil service while your going. If you can change your oil and your half decent with a test light n soldering iron you'll be fine
  11. Yea steel one can be had for $600 changeover painted through this mob in Melbourne, they're on eBay
  12. Okay will give it a try in my lunch break Thanks
  13. Yea I was thinking about a processor but they ain't cheap. Plus when I rang the guys I bought my gear off and told them about the hiss sound they said they've installed heaps of 8sum converters in fg's and never had a problem and I checked all the wiring and seems all good so may be a fault in it somewhere
  14. So I installed my new sound system the other day and I went to use my sunroof today and noticed it has lost all its memory. ie 'c' use to close it, '1' use to open all the way etc Now I don't know what brand it is as its not factory cause its in an FG. Just wondering if anyone knows how to reprogram the memory or tell me how I could figure out the brand so I can give the manufacturer a call Thanks
  15. Yea figured that cause in my ba had some noise but not so much as this time. The converter I have this time is like a $200 unit and the reason I bought it was to avoid the noise in it so was expecting little to none! The guys I bought it from have the NSW rep for Aerpro dropping in on tuesday so gonna give them a ring then and they should be able to sought me out. The converter is meant to have a ground isolator switch inside it under the cover to reduce the noise but mine doesn't have one so got to ask about that too Anyway cheers for the help
  16. Problem solved! Had to run the trigger wire from an accessory through the 8sum then onto the amps! On a side note I have a lot of static, especially at lower volumes, any ideas? I think I'm going to go back through and double check the speaker connections because I've already checked all the other connections and they're all good
  17. I wasn't sure if there was a remote trigger for the 8sum but that now makes sense! That's gonna be what I try first, thanks heaps mate!
  18. Yea I'm thinkin its the 8sum because it would be rare for both sets of rca's to be stuffed. My old man reckons it could be something to do with the speaker wires in that they could be shorting somewhere but again the chance of that happening on both the speakers and the sub is rare. The remote line is pushed in behind a fuse that is accessory power, I haven't checked it too see if somethings wrong there but shouldn't be. I'm going to go buy a basic line level converter 2moro and try install it instead n see if it works then
  19. Nah the 8sum turns off once the rca's are disconnected
  20. So I bought all my sound system gear last weekend and got too putting it all together and well it doesn't work. My gear: Clarion dpx1851 mono amp Nakamichi pm400.4 amp Precision power a12 sub Polk coaxials db651 Polk components db 6501 Aerpro apu8sum (line level converter) Now I've done a few installs before but this is the first time I've use this kind of line level converter, it runs off power and has seperate inputs for different speakers. I've only ever used one that uses one speaker input. The issue being that the 8sum works (lights up) fine until I earth the amps. I've tried just one amp, then the other and same result! The thing that I don't get is that no fuses are being blown (got fuses in both amps, the 8sum and in the power wiring) so makes me think its not actually a short? Anyone had an issue like this before? Note the amps run on a brand new 0 gauge wiring kit with gold plated RCA's and all speakers are hooked up with 14 gauge wire from the amps (all new wire the whole way). The only existing wires used are the speaker inputs which go into the 8sum
  21. Nah I didn't take offence, just wanted to clear up a few things. From what I've read and you've mentioned the person that did my car doesn't seem to be too in the know, she most likely just does it as part of her panel beating and that's about it, probably would get it done by an actual detailer in the future. I do still stand by the fact that for $150 the car is way better than it was but is far from perfect. However, given how many stone chips are over the whole car its not really worth me going too all out on a detail because the car will never be where I want it without a full respray unfortunately! I'm about 2 hours or so from Wagga so not too far! I saw a ss they were working on on facebook the other day that was coming up mint! Just sucks that between the two towns I live in (one being Canberra) it was impossible to find an actual detailer and that I'd have to travel to get a job done. Still struggling to get the splatter off some of the plastics, especially just under the windscreen wipers!! Any suggestions?
  22. 3sl fronts and 4sl rears. Monroe GT sport shocks Shortened bump stops cut down Shimmed front end to negate camber, adjustable bushes rear to adjust camber (didn't work real well lol) Staggered 20's with not a real lot of tyre lol All in all, love the look. Scrape occasionally, but only really my mudflaps scrape. As for ride, its hard to say. I went from stock height 18"s to stock height 19"s to lowered with with 19"s then the 20's. I hardly noticed a difference on 19's from not lowered to lowered but on the 20's you do feel a few bumps here and there. Corners better than standard yet could be better with less low and 19's (but still handles incredible for such a heavy/low car). But note I also have superpro comfort diff bushes and pedders control blade bushes so my rear end is stiffer than standard there aswell. All in all I do 15-20,000kms. Half being on the highway, then the other half between Canberra and Griffith (pretty sh*t roads out in the country) and I can't complain at all, love my combo. I may however go up to 3sl's in the rear to get more tyre on in the future but I won't do it unless I have too
