So what day are we doing this thing lol? I agree with Bullet in that a cruise post ford day might not work cause some will want to stay and some want and by the sounds of it we can't really make a full day of it because people are busy. Soo maybe lunch on the 2nd/3rd march at brodburger then bruise around after that for a bit? 12pm-4pm? whatever it is, even if its just an hour will be fine just to get out and about and to meet each other

I guess depends how much the pay out is. Might not be too out of pocket if you buy the new set, keep one of your old ones as a spare and sell the other 2 as a pair for someone to do track work,or for a trailer or something
-
I think no spoiler on FG looks good, but needs low to pull it off, but if I could afford it I would be putting a g series boot lip on And no the mudflaps are not coming off! Can't afford to respray my bumpers and guards
-
Had a go at doing my wheels again, except this time didn't paint the whole things. It's blaze purple with a few coats of glossifier on top Let me know what you think Also did my mrs wheels on her cruze the same but no pics because Expensive Daewoo lol
-
Did I read right that you changed your cat and your diving around without it being tuned? As said by pretty much everyone above, by time you spend $500 or so on a cheap brand cooler go a good brand. Hdi is good for your power goals but they hang very low, all the other good brands sit about the same as stock. Best value for money would be the rapid cooler but there are many process west and plazmaman fans on here
-
I bought stock because I liked the idea of doing things yourself and knowing exactly what's under the bonnet. Iv had mates buy worked sti's etc n it's almost impossible to know everything that's been changed. Also I like the idea of incremental increases in power

Half way through plastidipping my wheels! Any left over will go into door handles, mirrors, and whatever else I feel like putting it on lol
-
Sounds like I'm in the same boat! Probably go for a look rather than enter! I would enter but the cut and polish I had done on my car last month was pretty crap and way too many stone chips! Prefer my car in photographs, not up close in person lol
-
Yea that photo was taken from the front. Went to my ford dealer who installed them and they accepted that they pressed the bushes in wrong so it's going back in on monday to have them fixed and hopefully all goes well Thanks for the help!

^ Yep! Just be careful though, more power + traction = twisted tailshaft

Henz's New Bf, Old Xr6T & New Harley
Bellato replied to Henz's topic in Members Cars and Modifications
Looks good Henz! -
My bad lol, I meant march. Well at the moment either the weekend of the 23/24 of Feb or 2/3 March should suit me fine, I'll just work uni around it. I know we're leaning for the 23rd at the moment but if everyone could post what's the best day for them then we can go from there. It'd be best to try get everyone together for the first meet if possible.
-
Yea Fryer it sucked! Craig is the only one working there too so maybe there isn't much of a market for wheel repairs so he's gone solo Sat 23rd sounds good to me! Definitely wanna do something with mcinnes at some point to discuss FG mods and Gentech. But also good to get fryer's personal experience with ESP
-
Didn't it cost veva like $500? Obviously the labour is a killer but still How'd the wheels come out Henz?
-
Well feel free to organise something between yourselves in the next week or 2 and then we can do something again when I get back, or at least with whoever's free? Sorry Fryer but not a fan of Craig's work at all. I gutter rashed one of my vertini's like a week after they went on (yes it was my fault not the mrs lol) and took it too him, took ages to do it and only just got rid of the rash but can still see all the dents in the wheel from the gutter. For what I paid and the effort to go out to qbn for me I could have just got any machinist to take the wheels back a little bit and then just polish the stainless back up or even could have sanded back the rash with sand paper and polished up myself. I didn't do either of these things because I figured that's what he does for a living so leave it to the experts. Next time I'll try a different option

Henz 4 cans is more than enough. When I did mine, I did 2 can's (was a bit of a tight ass with money at the time) and when I peeled it off it was a bit hard in places. I'd say 3 cans is enough to do wheels perfectly, just make sure you evenly cover the sides of spokes the same as the face of the wheel otherwise peeling off is a *beep*! I've got more coming in the mail 2moro or tuesday, going blaze purple with glossifier over the top (only going for a satin look. Will post pics in the other plastidip thread when they're done some time this week

Here's my side one. if you compare the bush to the actual cradle its flush, but because theres that sleeve kind of thing betwen the bush and the cradle I'd say the bush is about 5mm or so in from the front of the car, so what do you reckon Pat?
-
^^ This and this! I think 7 or 8mm is pushing it without getting longer wheels studs. In saying that I think rule of thumb is around about 6 or 7 full turns of your wheel nut so if you really want go buy 2 5mm put them on and see how many full turns you get out of your wheel nuts. Any less than 6 and I wouldn't go there. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about the number of turns, I've never done it personally just been told by a wheel shop this is what they recommend

I don't think the weekend before is any good for bullet mcinnes and I'm not back in canberra yet either lol. Maybe people check out their availability the following weekend being the 2nd and 3rd of April?
-
Just go WRX spec and mount the muffler on a 45 angle so you see the whole muffler LOL
-
Okay thanks guys! I was under the impression that the smaller FG turbo had a bigger flapper or something like that making it easier to control boost spike when putting a dump. I agree that 300 will be a huge jump from standard and even standard I love how hard it pulls! Might just stick with the cat then and once uni is finished and I have a job, full 4" exhaust and gtx
-
I know this has kind of been done before but I need to start getting mods organised so I can start saving and buy what comes up cheap when I see it. Basically I think I'm set on all the mods I want except the exhaust is the only thing confusing me. Supporting mods will be: Rapid v2 kit (includes turbo side intake) KPM 1000cc injectors Walbro in tank fuel pump Plugs etc to match tune So looking for 300rwkw give or take but more worried about the driveability of the car as its a daily. I was thinking of going just the cat as its cheap and I've seen time and time again people hit 300 on about 14psi with cat and mods like above. But what sort of gain is there to be had with a 4" dump aswell? Is it worth it if I don't earn a real lot? (probably take me an extra 2 months just to save for the dump) I realise theres about 10rwkw to be had with the dump but more concerned with how the power is through the mid range making it feel like more. Has anyone done the basics to get to 300 and then just added the dump and if so how much difference did you notice and would you recommend it? Jono

Guard Rolling & Pumping - Brisbane
Bellato replied to griffo's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
$60 per guard or $200 for all 4. I just had my rears done but in hindsight should have done all 4 while I was going. I don't have any at the moment, gonna wash her 2moro and will take some. -
Yea its hard to look from the front as I don't have a hoist, I might get the forklift under it if I can and see I can't imagine them providing warranty on bushes if they've been put in wrong though? Thanks mate!
