Definitely keep it! $25k would be a stretch even with all the mods, these cars just don't hold their value! Mines worth about $17k (and owes me $35k) so I'm hoping just to hold onto it forever and slowly make it a wild weekender
  2. Possible the zf was tuned and that's why it shifts more firmly?
  3. Just go with the 82 deg high flow that arronm posted and it'll be fine
  4. Im booked in for Saturday too! Might have to ring 2moro n double check cause im coming up from canberra so dont want to find mine wont go on the dyno!
  5. So you're the reason I couldn't get my car on the dyno friday lol! Goodluck mate!
  6. 275/40/17 et's on stock xr wheels seems to be what most use, diff gears shouldn't matter on tyre size I don't think
  7. Hey bomber seeing as you're doing some R&D with different turbo's can you give the Precision 6235 a go and see how it compares lol? It apparently spools similar to the gt3576 but makes low 400's on 98.
  8. Been done by a bloke with a BA ute, I think it was on fordforums. He said himself it wasn't worth the time, effort and $
  9. I think you can fit 16's on the rear. But 17's are generally cheaper to replace so best off going 17's
  10. Why not go see another (reputable) tuner, pay them $100-$200 and get them to run it up and do a general diagnosis on the car including intake temps, backpressure on the exhaust etc and go from there, but than throwing money at things you're guessing could be the problem!
  11. Not good man! My mate recently just had his fg done with GTX, factory motor, factory fuel rail, no surge, built zf with 3200 stall and made 400rwkw on 19psi on 98 fuel with 11.1 afr's so still quite rich (waiting for gearbo tune). Another mate with a BA and built btr with 3200 stally made 340rwkw with gt3540 on 98. I didn't read how big your stally is but can't be robbing too much. At that psi on e85 guys with FG's are making 500rwkw through built zf's with stall's Definitely sounds like the tune needs to be fixed anyway, maybe tell spiro you want to diagnose the issue at your cost
  12. What did spiro have to say?
  13. You sure do things properly on that car don't you! Yea hopefully can organise one before I head back home, finishing up uni for the year soon. I'll have a chat to some mates and work things out
  14. No rating but I think good for high 400rwkw. Someone who has owned one can confirm
  15. ssl front and sssl rear. Won't notice much difference in comfort with factory shocks but they will chop out quicker at lowered height so might aswell replace them while you're going
  16. Canberra or QBN mate? Got to be happy with that. Post a pic of the car, might be out with a mate later in his Nitro FG ute, give us a wave if you see us
  17. You got new shoes so things aren't all that bad lol
  18. B series and FG rear end is basically identical suspension wise, I think just the diff and cv shafts that are different so FG specs should be fine

Just don't let him drive, he likes to crash these FG's
  20. It's a trade off. No tune means shifts are sloppy and clutch's will turn to sh*t quicker. Zf tune generally prolongs the life of the clutch's, but risk snapping shafts
  21. If I remember right I think running 98 on an e85 tune would mean the tune is running rich and that would foul the plugs eventually but that would have to be a relatively long time I would imagine. Plenty of people with barras who swap between 98 and e85 tunes around and only concern is not having your 98 tune too lean so that if you have some e85 still in the tank when you top up with 98 it doesn't lean out
  22. I've heard it can be a ballbreaker if they've increased shift firmness too much to get it back to a happy place but it can be done There use to be a lot of concern with zf tunes but there are a lot of good places with plenty of experience now who know what they're doing. They can break input shafts but depends on the tune and what power level you're at
  23. The sound alone is worth it. My mate just put tbre stage 2's in. Cost about $900 and labour was included in valve spring install and it sounds incredible at idle for a straight 6. Should make a little top end around the 400rwkw but you will lose some streetability with idle etc
  24. I put an FG NA one on my turbo, fit no worries and just looks cleaner. I also sprayed it satin black though just for a little shine
