  1. Yes it will, will help bring boost on earlier.
  2. Flapper mod will always help control boost better but generally is only required where you change the dump because it increases exhaust flow considerably more. On a side note I would consider different injectors and cooler
  3. ^ Roughly looking at $3-$4k
  4. Just a high flow cat will be enough and can be had for less than half the price
  5. CES is a good brand, but they only make a split dump pipe and I think the cat is only 3.5" so at some point it will become a restriction, depends what your power goals are. Expensive though, there are a few other options that are a lot cheaper and work just as well
  6. Hey mate, yea the ACT section of this site is pretty average! We have a group of some FG's that head out on friday nights every now and then. If you have facebook I can add you to our page and that'll keep you updated
  7. ^^ I think generally the bigger killer is the input shaft ($2k). In saying that I think by time you buy a new set of clutches, seals, solenoids, oil, filter then add labour, might aswell get it built. If not looking for huge power can get a cryoed shaft rather than billet a lot cheaper. Most places will offer different levels of box builds. To answer your question I'd say at least $2.5-3k on a basic rebuild
  8. Tuner should start with the tune and go over it to make sure anything is okay, then they should be able to diagnose the issue, whether it be plugs, coils, valve springs etc. Also I'm no expert but if valve springs are starting to hurt, im under the impression you could actually just put a decent exhaust on instead and free up exhaust flow and that will take some pressure off the valve springs and they might be okay. Plus you will make more power with it
  9. a 20x8.5 +35 with a 245/35/20 will not rub on the control arm, and if it was a +15 that would mean it definitely wouldn't rub on the control arm as its 20mm further out from the control arm. Also if it was a 15 machined down to a 35 I highly doubt the nuts would even seat anymore and hold the rim in place, that 20mm they would have got rid of! I would say the tyre looks like too high of a profile or the offset is too high or both. Vertini also do a +42 with 8.5 wide rims so don't be surprised if that's what you actually have. I had to get an 8mm spacer to make them work. I would honestly take them back and say you want 2 new rims about +30-+35 no higher or lower and with a 245/35/20 you won't have dramas. Ozzy tyres have no idea what they're doing
  10. Was it built to handle that power? Did you get any sort of warranty with the box? There are a few good box builders around aus, depends on what power you want and what you're willing to spend
  11. Get a 2nd opinion aswell. Some places do try milk you for all your worth. My mate got told by a shop his diff bush mount was all cracked yet not a single crack anywhere on the cradle
  12. GTX3576 will make the same or less power than you currently do but boost will come on earlier and will feel quicker on the street. If you want 400 out of it will need to go on e85 though
  13. Try classified section mate. Best bet would be a wrecker though
  14. Well the more expensive turbo's seem to 'generally' to either spool quicker or make more up top than the cheaper equivalent, but there's a lot of factors that go into that also. I would look at a gt3540, gtx3576, pte6235, mta750 and efr8374 (someone confirm the borg warner model number). All will achieve your ultimate goal of 500hp, how they achieve it and how much they go over it varies. Reliability of the turbo, ease of fitment and price are all factors that vary between them. Plenty of info on those turbo's around
  15. Whats your budget is a factor too. The precision 6235 and one of the efr borg warners (ratter tuned one, can't remember the model number) are quick spooling turbos but make decent power up top. however these are at the upper end of the costs scale by time they're on the car
  16. I'd say they're +25 rear! If these were bought from an ozzy tyres in sydney then I wouldn't be suprised if they were the 'f*** up' set they did for a guy I know! He ordered +38 rears and they gave him +25 rear so went back and exchanged them. Given the shops rep wouldn't be surprised if they kept them and offloaded to someone unsuspecting!! By the way the offset will be stamped on the inside of one of the spokes
  17. that's a really good price with converter! What brand and stall on the converter?
  18. What's included in that price? Built box with oil installed or does it also include converter, trans cooler, flexplate etc?
  19. If Jim's turbo's do what they day then they could be a good option! What's the difference between a gt3576 core and gtx3576 Bomber that would make the gtx handle more boost (for longer)?
  20. Yea not sure because they've been on sale on at least 2 separate occasions from what ive seen
  21. Anyone got the inside scoop on if and when MTQ/Sonic might have their sale on these again, decided to bite the bullet and buy one

^ agreed, I think Pedders are the only one who does red springs
  23. Hey bomber, next time you go to Hi torque could you get them to overlay your old gt3576 tune with the gtx one? I'm pretty well set on this turbo, seems perfect on the street! I think the 200nm gain is more impressive than the 50kw gain! I recently had my car retuned and it gained 10rwkw but almost 200nm of torque and it was a very noticeable change

Do compressed springs settle lower? I was under the impression that when you get them compressed they won't settle lower, check with King though

Heard the same thing over and over with inconsistency with spring height in kings. Their tolerance must be like 10mm lol
