  1. I don't think I've seen anyone on the forums with 300,000kms but sure its been done The highest km car on carsales has 260,000 Have you pretty much replaced everything in the car at those kms or not really?
  2. http://www.wakefieldpark.com.au/calendar Have a look and see what you guys think. Doesn't seem to be too many good opportunities in August (despite that being better for some of us so far). Unless its a thursday but I assume that may make things hard for some people with work etc 14 september is the first saturday speed off the streets. That more than likely won't be any good for me but too hard to know at this stage. Anyway through around some dates whether they be july, august, september, october etc and I guess just see what most people can do. I'm guessing for those that work if you're keen its just a matter of getting a day off if you're not too busy
  3. I compressed mine to the point where it could move around inside the spring base and top of the strut so that you're guaranteed for it to not smash you in the face.
  4. August would be better for me. With September I won't know until like a couple of weeks before. I have a tight budget being a uni student so public day would be better for me, unless we can get like 30+ cars Otherwise I'd be keen, just need to wait till July to find out my uni schedule
  5. $650 is a bit much... Nah fairly easy job to do, just need spring clamps. I suggest doing shocks while you're going too
  6. Im running these in 245/35/20 and for $170 each they're brilliant front tyres! Yet to put them on the rear! ^^ I can't imagine anything holds 470rwkw lol. How do they go, do they at least hold 3rd gear?
  7. Agree with many here, I had 4 places do wheel alignments and I always get the print out and each was different, only one actually gave me back a car that doesn't pull to either side. And I'm running -1deg camber and mine aren't wearing bad enough to be down to the metal. On a side note, change your tyres asap! If your tyres are down to the belts that's just dangerous for everyone As for what else could be the problem, can be worn bushes. Being ex cop car they could have prematurely stuffed the bushes. Again, any good shop will sort it out. The only guy I use now refused to do a wheel alignment the other day because he found some worn bushes and wanted them replaced first!
  8. About $12k so yea fair point. And you're right people don't think of it
  9. Check your tyre pressures and get a decent wheel alignment, shouldn't be scrubbing on the inside at stock height
  10. http://news.drive.com.au/drive/motor-news/hsv-gts-official-details-and-pictures-20130514-2jk3t.html $95k http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/aussies-snapping-up-new-hsv-gts-on-pre-order-with-holden-to-debut-sedans-close-to-bathurst/story-e6frg6n6-1226642241532 $95k http://www.carsguide.com.au/news-and-reviews/car-news/new_hsv_gts_australias_most_powerful_car $95k From what I've READ yes it comes in under $100k, yes will be $100 give or take with on roads. Yes that is obviously something to add, I'm just making the point that when people say $100k+ it implies that its well into that 6 figures when realistically its not.
  11. Spotted a nitro turbo with bboss eleanor style wheels last night at dickson intersection on northbourne, looked good!
  12. I dunno where the $100k+ price tag is coming form. With a huge drop in the price of the ss and Bogan special I can't imagine this exceeding $100k. As for the comparison to a 500rwkw xr good luck. Go pay $45k for a new one. Spend $10k+ on a harrop brake package and wheels. $2k on a decent suspension set up. $20k give or take on built motor and bolt ons, $5k for a built box, then add tailshaft and other bits and pieces. So at $80-$90k you can match it on the strip but then you have all the technology which the xr can't compete with and at the end of the day, look 5 years down the track and you'll be lucky to get $40k for your xr while they resell their gts for $60k. I'm a Ford man through and through and we've been killing the ss for years with the turbo's but you got to admit HSV beat us on this one... Just wait for FPV to respond I guess
  13. I think this is a sick idea. Sometime late July, early august would be best for me. Plus being winter we get better performance, less heat soak etc etc Except whose side do I go on? I live in ACT 7 months and NSW 5 months a year, but have NSW rego lol. I spose I just choose the winning side haha
  14. Going off your sig then yea more than likely, your stock cooler would be struggling quite a bit at 330rwkw, that's probably why it feels so much better in winter
  15. End of July, early August would be good
  16. Estimating under $100k. Even if it just scrapes in it's still not bad when you think about it, there's a lot of good bits that come with it.
  17. Spotted at my uni carpark a silver xr50t. Heard it before I saw it! Nicest sounding 6 cylinder I've ever heard, was gonna stalk him and ask him some questions but was in a bit of a rush, will definitely have to try bail him up one day and ask a few things!
  18. Just change front bar lol. There's a nitro xr8 with g series front bar that looks so good!
  19. I reckon it looks pretty tough. Check out the specs on the GTS though. 430kw supercharged 6.2L, Brake package is massive and technology is definitely top notch. Interesting to see what Ford does., will they do what Expensive Daewoo did and just release like a GT-F or something that has 400+kw and the rest stay the same or what. Just seems like 430kw is a bit much of a jump from what they had. In about 12-15 years holden's gone from 255 in their clubsport to 430, so come 2030 I'm expecting at least 600-700kw standard lol
  20. $400 to clear up those defects? All they did was swap a set of wheels and screw the coilovers up! That's bullsh*t man!
