  1. Don't tell me that mark cause I had 0.8mm gapped plugs and the tuner wanted 0.75... Kit at Gentech Jet. He's gonna ring Herrod on Monday to check he has the correct data for the injectors
  2. Hey guys have an 08 FG xr6t and just took it in to get tuned and haven't been able to pick it up because it starts to miss and then dies. Car starts then you can give it a few revs, back off then about 20 seconds later it misses and dies. Tuner won't be able to do anything till monday now but just thought I'd investigate myself. It happens with the new tune aswell a stock tune adjusted for injectors. Tuner reckons it could be either be an issue with the injectors or a problem with my x3 Parts list include: Rapid cooler and turbo side ID1000's 3.5" dump and cat PW surge with walbro 460 pump 82 deg thermostat 0.75mm gapped NGK iridium plugs X3 (bought second hand but is unmarried) Anyone else had this happen?
  3. I'm in lol! Touch wood everything goes alright but should have the mods done by next friday night so that'll be my first good chance to give it a good drive Would be good to get a few on board, even if we do a cruise from one side of canberra to the other and those who need to bail can, then the rest can keep going down cotter way?
  4. What about the left side skirt lol? Looks good though mate! So jealous!
  5. Yea Chris knows! But he's been told heaps before and hasn't changed anything! If the cooler was just 10mm thinner and the mounting brackets were properly though put it would be great! Yea stepped cooler costs a bit but you wait till you install one n then tell me it's not worth the money. Me and my old man spent 2 and a half days. We used every power tool under the sun as well as a drill press, drop saw, oxy torch and welder! Lucky I live on a farm and had plenty of resources to use but for the average joe it would be a bit of work.
  6. Everything lol. Instructions didn't include half of what had to be done. Had to make new mounting brackets cause the ones supplied are too thin and don't line up, no measurements given for where to redrill radiator mounts, had to cut part of the metal crush bar which wasnt told had to be done, lower mounting brackets were useless, wiring harness had to be moved, bolts had to be ground back, air con hoses had to be ben out of the way, I think that was it lol. And after all that it only just fit so we siliconed where it could touch when it moves to avoid damage. And on top of all that I was missing nuts, bolts, clamps and some hoses. Too be honest I wouldn't buy it again, I would have bought the pw stepped, well worth the extra $600 And that doesn't include the problems we had with the turbo side and battery relo!
  7. In the last 4 days Did service, flushed coolant, got diff oil changed, flushed zf and installed rapid turbo side and cooler! Installing that cooler is one of the biggest c*** of a job if ever done on a car, so poorly designed!! I can understand now the appeal of the stepped coolers!! On a side note my turbo side just runs a small filter (maybe 5-6" long), is it worth getting a 9" filter? Only aiming for a bit over 300rwkw so can't imagine it will be a restriction
  8. Bit of a thread mine but trying to follow up on this issue. So I finally fixed the problem (well at least 95% of it). I recently changed the upper outer and lower out control arm bushes and the knock seems to have gone. I can hear something every now and then but its probably just the car bottoming out. These cost me $80 and took the good part of a day with some help and mucking around. Note that things that appeared to fix the problem before may have just temporarily done so but once everything settled it came back, that's why I waited a few hundred kms this time to make sure it hasn't come back yet, touch wood! So what I did and the affect it had: Changed upper shock bushes and control blade bushes to nolathane - $250ish - Reduced noise temporarily but came back worse, rear gripped better Changed springs and shocks (monroe gt sport) - $700ish - Made noise slightly worse Changed upper inner bushes to offset (for camber) and diff bushes - $800ish - Made noise slightly better and removed axle tramp Changed sway bar link pins to ball joint ends (wholesale suspension) - $100 - Made no difference Changed Upper outer and lower outer control arm bushes - $80 - problem fixed
  9. No rubbing but it's essentially +37 now. As said with the front you'll have no problems with a +20 if you don't go lower than ssl springs up front, of you go sssl or coilovers then it will rub so you can either go down to a 30 profile or choose the +40 offset You sure mummba about not needing a roll? If 20x10 +40 needs a roll then 20x8.5+20 will sit about the same (actually 1.25mm further out). I think +20 will work on the rear if you go ssl or sssl with a roll. The other option is plenty of low, bit of camber and you'll be sweet lol
  10. Started pulling front bar off to install cooler and turbo side. Hopefully find time 2moro or it'll be a weekend job. Also gotta change plugs, do a service, flush coolant, flush zf and change diff oil! All ready for mods in 2 weeks!
  11. I have 20x8.5 +42 and run a 245/35 but I have a 5mm spacer. Cars apart so ill try for the wheel with spacer off n see whether a +40 would work but highly doubt it. 245/35 will. As for +20 you can't run a 245/35 if you go too low. Max ssl up front. I would go +40 all round with 5mm spacer up front if you want to be safe Or +20 all round if you go ssl/sssl and roll rears
  12. My car will be with kit from 17th till 19th so maybe even see me in there. Keen for anything end of July, I think we were going to organize a cruise of some sort end of July anyway weren't we?
  13. Sounds good mate! Also would love to see a dyno graph with no turbo mods, curious to see how mine will go with similar mods next month
  14. Won't look that bad if offsets are right. People on here run 10's because it helps to run a wider tyre to get more grip. But if your car is that in your dp then keep the wheels on it over the fashions If 12" would be -15 wouldn't it?
  15. A couple of B series turbos for sale with 300rwkw for sale with similar kms (not built motor though) for sale in the high teens and have been around for a while. I'd say low 20's is realistic
  16. They're clipped on so have to pry them off. I use a screwdriver but can damage the trim so something similar that's plastic works. N as ms said I would just flog a new set from McGrath
  17. ^^ yea he drives an impreza so couldn't handle the power lol.
  18. Where do you get simmons copies from? Tocchi had simmons with black centres on his black xr8 and looked porn, could look good on white too! ^ tyres on that f6 are 255/35 all round
  19. Computer reads more air coming in so pumps more fuel in to compensate. I think that's how it works?
  20. I think we need to start 2 new threads. One called the "safe as houses" thread and a "hella flush and poke" thread
  21. Hey fordz I think the rims on the black 300 are too small lol! Did you do a wedding with that n a couple of other black ones on New Year's Eve not last year but one before? Yea can't make any cruises for a few weeks, I'm back in Griffith till 17th of July On a side note got a courtesy call today to confirm my booking at gentech in 4 weeks! Getting close now!! Cooler n intake goes on in 2 weeks then getting diff n zf services aswell before mod time Ps mckhinness my name is spelt Bellato lol
  22. ^^ this but you'd have to go the same offset in the rear otherwise will look out
  23. I have 3sl front and 4sl in the rear. Front sits just flush with the tyre, maybe even tucks a couple of mm. Rear tucks a good 10-20mm of tyre. With the car full loaded it sits just on the top of the rim n would probably sit lower but I would have to take the bump stops off completely cause I already have shortened super pros with 2 or 3 notches cut off
  24. Changed a few bushes, may have finally got rid of my dreaded knock but wanna drive around a bit more yet. Also created another problem in that something's catching on the front disc as it goes round making a scratching noise, will check that out 2moro Also removed mudflaps. Rear bumpers probably gonna sprayed with stones now, more incentive to buy new wheels with higher rear offset. N found out my wheels are definitely +38 offset. Gives me something to work with in wheel shopping cause +38 with 4sl but camber corrected doesn't work. Everyone who is really low in the rear has to be running more than -1deg camber (didnt correct after lowering) to fit a 275 tyre
