Wow the simmons on that GT look good!! Off topic but efsix how are you going to get 22x10.5's under the rear of a sedan? I'd imagine not too much low, a lot of camber and a lot of tyre stretch?

Nothing wrong with the zf Viper is a nice colour but im not a fan of the 50th anniversary stripes, never have been

Pw Surge & 460 Pump With Stock Reg
Bellato replied to F6Fury's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
Okay thanks! Going to get them to log my pressures 2moro and looks like I'll probably need the stage 1 and will see what tuner says about retuning -
You want sssl all around if you want to sit over the tyre Won't get much camber out of ssl. sssl you'll get a bit but shouldn't destroy tyres and 17's are cheap anyway lol

Jax tyres in Mitchell, ACT. Pretty sure that was his cost price as he looks after me pretty well. Thewheeldeal has them for $185 but then need to post ontop. If you have a jax dealer nearby maybe go around and hit them up. I'v had the series 2 on the front for about 3000kms now and they've been great! They disperse water much better than the series 1 and great turn in. I oversteer before understeer Not sure how these go on the rear with 300rwkw or more but they are currently my fallback position

^ so mick if I just change fuel reg with the stage 1 fitting kit how much is involved in retuning? Can it just be touched up or is it like starting again? Just thinking its gonna cost over $500 fir fuel reg, install n retune so might have to leave as is for a little -
Yea I'm looking for more grip. Getting a bit frustrating having to feather the throttle to try launch good. I only spin the wheels in the first couple of gears on boost. I don't do big burnouts unless I'm ready to change tyres Yea ku31'a were another I looked at and they seem to rate quite well but apparently they are incredibly noisey. I had ku19's on the front before and they were very noisey especially through corners and if the 31's are the same then not really interested. Yea bullet PSS do everything right but price (for me). I could go through almost 2 sets of federals for the same price. T1's were again looked at but quite expensive and the as2's aren't available in the size I want Also considering downgrading to 19's n getting more profile on the tyre but not sure if I want to spend that much money as I'm pretty broke after my mods

Since getting my tune considering new tyres. Currently have 265/30/20 Dunlop Sport Maxx GT's on 20x10's and they're pretty average. Looking at 275/30/20 and need to be careful with wide shouldered tyres due to correcting my rear camber Trying to find a good compromise between grip, price and wear (obviously can't have everything but trying my best). All have AA traction and A temp. All have correct load rating too Done a fair bit of research so far and narrowed it down too 4 tyres and basically want a bit of comparison of what people have and their thoughts and feel free to correct anything that doesn't seem right as a lot of the research is from the US. Michelin Pilot Super Sport (300 treadwear) - Brilliant dry and great wet grip. Quite quiet. Grips well in both straight line launch and cornering. - Mileage is anywhere from 30,000 to 50,000 but working on the lower end of that scale - Price - $320 + post and fitting from tirerack (need to get prices in Aus) Federal 595 Evo (240 treadwear) - Excellent dry grip but average wet grip. Good cornering grip. A bit noisey - Mileage is around about 25,000 to 30,000 - Price - $220 on ebay Nitto Invo (260 treadwear) - Great wet and dry grip both launching and cornering. Everyone seems to love them on the fourm. Pretty quiet - Mileage is about 20,000 - Price - $350 from Taleb Achilles ATR Sport 2 (400 treadwear) - Good dry grip and the wet is not bad, definitely step up from series one. Great bang for buck tyre. Noise isn't bad - Mileage is up around 40,000+ - Price - $220 on Ebay At the moment leaning towards the 595 evo's. Great price and great drip grip based on reviews and get a decent amount of kms out of them. I don't push the car in the wet. I think the michelin's might be getting out of price range and only concern for the invo's is mileage because I'm still at uni for 2 more years so need to consider value for money. Achilles are great value for money just unsure how well they can hold 300rwkw Cheers for any help!

Pw Surge & 460 Pump With Stock Reg
Bellato replied to F6Fury's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
Thanks guys I'll keep an eye on pressures thursday when it hits the dyno again. How did people go int he past with the old surge tanks and 044's? Did they ever have issues with fuel pressure? -
What brand are they? I'd be a bit cautious if you don't have model numbers to know what they are. Just because they are a certain length doesn't mean that much because spring rate could be different to other brands

Pw Surge & 460 Pump With Stock Reg
Bellato replied to F6Fury's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
Interesting reading this! I have the PW unit with 460 and since the tune I can smell a heap of unburnt fuel and fuel economy is pretty average compared to other tuned cars. Also the whole unit is getting replaced thursday due to the pump making weird noises so this could be the problem but will see if I can get my tuner to check the fuel pressure and possibly look at getting a new fuel reg -
I reckon they look sh*t.. I'll buy them off you!! I'm going to go out and say they are the best wheels I have ever seen on a falcon!! Imagine how sticky worm's keyboard is once he sees this lol
-
All you can do is either use touch up paint and build it back up a bit then polish it to try blend it in. Otherwise full respray! They can't just repsray a section and blend properly. I asked plenty of panel beaters and none of them will do it cause it'l look sh*t Unfortunate though for you!

Recommended Tuner / Workshop Act
Bellato replied to wiilloughby's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Yea I wasn't going to post up until it was all sorted. The fuel pump in the surge was making weird noises and so is being replaced by PW but been screwed around a bit and car's going back thursday morning. Was told 295 was the most that could be had before it started leaning out. Couldn't throw any more boost or timing at it. They weren't sure if the pump was actually faulty or just making noises but given that pump is capable of over 400rwkw on 98 I'm hoping that's the problem. The car feels great to drive. Afr's are spot on 12 the whole way through and its running about 14.5psi tapering to 10, the only reasons I wasn't happy with the result was that as Bullet said a similar car with only a catback and valve springs over mine made almost 30rwkw more, but we'll wait and see Will let you know how things go Thursday -
Ralph I would pm fryer of tyres. He seems to know every turbo in the state and who owns it

Well regardless of the power, a 12 sec quarter isn't anything special considering the flywheel power figure Why not pazzo? If VCM were doing something dodgy then wouldnt they add a bit more power out of their tune than what they get in that video? I'm not doubting that it doesn't seem right and obviously the GTS is a different car but my thing is that it's majorly overstated and everyone is raving about it when it won't be much quicker than the current GT's
-
Here's a 1/4 of what the cts-v does. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSHwBw6WH4w Obviously the GTS has different weight, suspension and wheel and tyre package but just a gauge of what to expect. Probably a great track car but the power at the fly is a fair bit overstated
-
Check out this thread http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/85354-lsa-on-the-dyno/ Not sure if anyone has done anymore testing as of yet in Aus but I'd be cautious interpreting the HSV stated 0-100 and 1/4. The total package of this car is a huge step up on the old gts and even GT's but the power figure isn't that great in reality

That's gotta be on bags surely? I actually reckon it looks so tough on terry steelies!!

Sloxr6'S Ba Wagon Project And Turbo Ef Xr6
Bellato replied to *Sloxr6*'s topic in Members Cars and Modifications
Love the idea of a wagon turbo! Pretty keen on doing one myself one day! -
As above. They're generally used for towing to be able to hold the extra weight without sagging. When you lower just take them out
-
Why not just change back to whatever oil you previously used?

Sorry mate as far as I'm aware bulletime is out of action for a couple of weeks and mcinnes is still in QLD. I had every intention of coming out but car's still not running properly and won't be touched up till next week (not impressed) Probably next friday will be my first chance to take it out properly. Basically just using it to get to work and uni at the moment -
Dude jump on ebay I paid $750 for king springs and monroe gt shocks. Get well over $1k if you want better shocks
