Crescent motorsport in Liverpool!

I know that woolies and big w have a company policy that as a minimum there is at least one checkout operator open at all times! Even with skeleton staff one has to stay open! So if its one of them is ask to have a checkout opened

Yea I know henz, the cat is a power thing. The stalling is in the tune
-
Well been through a few things. First was still stalling with 680rpm idle but found out the 100psi fuel pressure was the cause so fuel reg went in. Then stopped stalling but wasn't happy with the high idle so had it dropped back to standard (550) and started stalling again. He then bumped it up to 570 and still stalling. Then changed something like the throttle response to 1:1 and still same issue Then most recently he put more timing in at idle as well as more air? Or something along these lines. I'm not a tuner so hard to fully understand. Still stalling but have gone back to Griffith for 2 weeks so can't take it back Use to stall when pulled up in drive now only stalls when you up in park or go front drive to reverse. And only happens when warm and sometimes not every time Yea but had a retune and made 294 and mate made 321

Yea jet kit is really good at what he does and he has been willing to keep trying things to fix my other issues. I think he hasn't had much experience with things such as the id1000's and that's where my other problems are arising Yes I agree with mick but when the customer is trying to did out what's holding the power back and is willing to pay then you'd think there'd be some definitive suggestions. The cat is most likely the restriction as suggested by him but hasn't been confirmed And freaky if it was 5 difference I wouldn't care but it was almost 30rwkw difference.. Either way not sure how this thread went this way, just wanted a second opinion on the cat and will most likely be ordering one off mick and fitting it and then having a retune trough gentech. At the end of the day the power thing is my problem and something I have to resolve/wear the cost of, fixing my other issues with the tune the tuner is resolving and has been doing at his cost which is good.

Yes I know dyno numbers aren't everything. Haven't got time to go to the strip at the moment. Yea the wheel thing is right but I was running 18's and mate was running 20's
-
From the beginning iv been making comparisons to a car that was tuned with similar mods by the same tuner on the same dyno. Except mine was tuned in winter and his in late spring so 15degrees temp difference was in my favour And if its going to be a cheap and certain way of getting more power (just changing the cat) then why not?
-
Ill be getting quotes tonight for transport jet! Rough idle, stalling, average fuel economy (not that important but should be better), didn't make as much power as I was hoping but I think that's a dodgy cat that I'll be replacing, noisey surge tank. Gentech in Canberra freaky
-
Having gone back to the tuners 10 times in 7 weeks and still not happy with my car's tune! Might just put it on a truck and send it to JD tuning!

If it weren't for the massive surplus created by the Coalition prior to the GFC we would have been up the creek without a paddle Either way not going to start on politics its all crap, just as long as the greens are on the bottom of the list and labours somewhere nearby

^ not really.. If you own an oil temp gauge you'll notice as Steve mentioned that coolant temp is no indication of oil temp My coolant will be up to normal operating temp and oil won't even be at 100f yet and I wait till 140f to give it a little and gets up to around 180f when fully warm. ^^ same here, and 3 gauges looks cooler lol
-
Nah haven't been happy with a few things especially idle, I think we finally fixed it today. I'll be ringing 2moro to get confirmation that changing cat is going to be worth it Yea not going to gut it. Too loud and too much drone, plus was told today by tuner that it will cover my bump in sh*t all the time.
-
If you can afford it go aeroforce gauges cause they're awesome I use propsort gauges. Pretty good value at $80 each and match the interior pretty well
-
Yea spoke to him and he's looking at a possible group buy using a bolt in cat which isn't any good to me unfortunately Will probably be sourcing a 5" 200 cell cat from him however. If he says it's going to flow really well then I can't help but trust his judgement
-
Thanks for the input guys! This is what my cat currently is. Not what I asked for but I guess I learnt my lesson of trying to do things cheaper! Going to be sourcing a 5" cat probably venom and will make it into a bolt in system when I go back home them when I get back to Canberra tuner can bolt it in and retune n see how we go!
-
Yea I realise I can make 300 with just a cat change but I've done that with a dump and haven't hit 300 so rather than spending another 200 and welding in a new 100 cell cat that will possibly get me the same result I was thinking punching it out. I might punch out the stock cat and make up a section with flanges using it so it can be dropped in and out. I more or less want to see what the gain is with no cat and then decide from there, probably won't be a permanent thing

I feel perfectly safe in my northside townhouse complex lol
-
So no guru tuner input jet? Thanks Aaron, what other exhaust mods did it have?
-
So I made less power than I wanted a few weeks ago and according to the tuner its the exhaust that's holding me back at 295rwkw although I have a 3.5" dump and 100 cell cat, also with rear muffler delete. Not sure if I in fact had the wrong cat installed or not but thinking about changing it. Tuner wants me to do cat and catback but no point because I'm not changing turbo any time soon. So was thinking whether I should cut out and weld in a new venom cat ($200 + retune) or gut the current one? I know gutting it is illegal but I'm more more concerned how loud the exhaust will be because as it is it's quite loud. Has anyone gutted their cat and how loud is it and does it drone much? Also is it possible to drive around with the new cat for 350kms on the highway (can run my valet tune with 3200rpm rev cut if need be) to get to the tuner or no go? And what about for gutted cat, I'm guessing its worse because much more flow? Cheers
-
Yea that's true! Bit to far away from me now so no more joy rides for you lol Oh on a side note might be getting a retune soon, changing some parts to see how we go. Also had my tune modified slightly and much happier with the adjustments.

Not mine but mrs wheels arrived that I orderd. $1500 for 19's with tyres not too bad at all
-
I believe they call people like you traitors Bullet haha
-
^^ Where at mate?
-
That's one sweet build! I was thinking not enough power but I suppose it puts it down no worries! Gotta appreciate the work that's gone into it
