  1. Yea sorry Kambah, he lives in Chifley lol. Yea not sure, that would have been 2-3 years ago. Be interested to see e85 at Fyshwick being tested too. I'd be a little concerned with how quickly the tank gets refueled and what was in teh tank before (or hopefully a new tank completely)
  2. The reason intunes pops up so much on searches is because it's the most commonly complained about tuner of these cars lol
  3. Decided against the slicks. Don't really want to break sh*t 250kms from home
  4. The only way the fronts won't hit is to run a 225/35 tyre (so stretched on) and possible narrower. It is possible the wheel will actually touch aswell but may clear Look at this link below. Exactly what wheels you're after and much better offsets for falcon http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rota-GRID-19-x-8-5-25-19-x-9-5-35-5x114-3-silvia-skyline-Ford-FPV-JDM-/130633465777?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e6a5c7fb1&_uhb=1
  5. Read the thread 'project 305'. Should answer most of your questions. I would run a 10.5" wheel if going 305. Remember with 19's you can go a 5% more profile than 20's so you will have more sidewall which allows for more flex and ultimately grip.
  6. Well Kit did testing when it first came out and got between 75 and 90% ethanol with eflex from both nicholls and chifley(?)
  7. Yea no worries mate, the next one will prob be the 28th and then the 6th I'm going to WSID
  8. Have a search mate, heaps of threads on this!!! But in a nut shell fronts will just fit but need stretched tyres to stop it from rubbing and rears will be almost flush.
  9. Hey guys got another cruise going on friday night. Meeting point is the brod burger carpark in Kingston, down near the foreshore. I think we're meeting about 7:30ish and we'll be moving on by 8:30 if not earlier Should be able to see a few fg's and some b series depending on who comes Hopefully see some guys there
  10. Yea test tubes can be used too. If the ethanol content is consistent or within 5% then its all good, my main concern is major changes in ethanol content.
  11. New diff as well iirc, pretty sure ratios are different.
  12. E85 tends to be at least 85% and up to 92 whereas eflex can go from 70-90% and you just can't account for such fluctuations in a single tune. With e85 you can get away with because I think most tuners run a slightly richer tune to account for a higher ethanol content that you occasionally get. If I was running e85 though I'd probably be running flex-fuel sensor to test the amount in each tank and have a few different tunes, e80, e85, e90, then 98 and valet. x3 allows 10 tunes so can make it work. As bullet said e85 requires a decent upgrade to the fuel system and regular changing of fuel filters etc to ensure things don't block up. And yea I'd say ESP would do an E85 tune but I would be going to Sydney and getting a tuner who tunes it alot.
  13. If ratter says they run out of puff at 300 would like to see logged intake temps at 400rwkw? Going off your location you're in Melbourne so you have plenty of good tuners to choose from. Pitlane, Nizpro, Bluepower, Herrod, G6 motorsports, dynomite, etc Ring a couple and see who you feel most comfortable with. My suggestion would be Pitlane (and no its not my tuner)
  14. I'm going on April 6th which is a sunday meet. Hoping 4 or 5 of us will head up from Canberra. Trying to get Micks 1131rwhp turbo to come race too. Yea I was thinking the stiff sidewall might not help much. My biggest concern with my current tyres is they're a 265 on 10" rim so a bit stretched and no much sidewall flex either
  15. Hey guys, going to race my car for the first time in a few weeks at WSID and I can get a pair of 235/45/17 dunlop full slicks pretty cheap and was wondering if they're worth buying to race on or should I stick to my 265/30/20's that are my daily tyres? Only 300rwkw and not looking for the best time as I've never raced a car before so mt's aren't an option, just wondering if these will be much better than standard tyres?
  16. Heaps of posts on this mate have a search. They're good to about 350rwkw, require a bit of cutting to fit and sit relatively low and some can't put the splash tray back on, and can't run turbo side intake with their piping
  17. What's the mainlube worth? Does Joe only use mainlube now or still using syntrans for most applications?
  18. Apparently I slightly shorter shafts would work in my favour because the cars so low. Either way order a repco shaft, came in at $175 trade price, $250 labour to fit. Sucks but hopefully sorts the car out before the next sunday meet at WSID
  19. Is the generic tune from these guys lol http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-FLASH-TUNER-X3-60-lb-INJECTORS-XR6-Turbo-F6-/181298727245?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a363f094d&_uhb=1 Spend some time and research generic tunes and intune and you'll understand why to stay away, especially if they're going to try give you a tune for some random injectors..
  20. Oh yea, well that I can work around, more concerned with the quality of the cv's etc. Sorry no pics of chicks, will try get my mrs to change the shaft for me and I'll take a pic
  21. So you don't rate the repco shafts? Boots shouldn't split in just a few months surely?
  22. I wonder if they look inside your rear guards whether they'll replace it lol
  23. Yea engineer said the same thing, thought it was unusual. I reckon my car was built on a friday afternoon unfortunately. Apparently that silver ring thing is pressed into that bronze coloured housing but its twisting around so not sure if it was just done sh*t to begin with and the lowering and power killed it. I'll be racing for the first time at WSID in a month so hoping just replacing one side will be right.. Also do BF shafts fit FG?
  24. Going to revive an old thread. So turns out I need a new cv so going to be replacing my driveshaft. Looking at the options and well genuine isn't one, got a price from repco and they're $260 but I can get it under $200 for trade price. Are the repco ones any good? I have different part numbers for repco parts compared to the converted On a side note anyone know how this happened, been told most likely too low is the cause, only running 300rwkw and no track use for the car. Pics because everyone wants pics
  25. Yea franks. I got it at murrumbidgee farm fair so they were doing a special on it and was actuall 148 but I think it was only $160 gst inclusive normally
