    Pbr C4 Calipers

Just to finalise this small thread: Justin from Tuffcarparts has organised a full refund including shipping costs for the kit, despite the fact that he is an ebay seller and that I assembled the kit on the car. He has been very helpful with this and has expressed sincere disappointment that the kit didn't fit as it was supposed to. I have since bought a set of DBA4000's and Bendix ultimates.
  2. About $1000 p/a with AAMI (NSW) for a BA mk2 XR6T ute with $24,000 agreed value. NRMA were $2500 and most others were either that or didn't want to know me (I'm 23). Not sure what the deal is if I need to make a claim and there are mods to it though... nothing crazy, just DBA4000 rotors and some new wheels, and perhaps an edit. Any thoughts on the usual deal with mods?
  3. When you're driving 800km a week you want some decent economy... Got mine to about 10L/100km driving Springwood to Faulconbridge (Great Western highway). Which I reckon is pretty decent considering the stop start BS it involves (60, 70, 80, 70, 60, 80, 70, 90, 70, 100, 80, and so on...). Loving the cruise control! (good behaviour bond will do that...)

I paid $1150 for the kit, which I reckon is pretty good (if I get them to fit that is...). Attached are some photos I took when I tried to install it. I'm lookin at a wheel and tyre package on ebay to fit over them: 18inch New GUNMETAL NEUTON GT Wheels & Tyres NISSAN WRX - eBay Wheel, Tyre Packages, Wheels, Tyres, Car, Truck Parts, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 26-Oct-10 14:03:31 AEDST) Cheap, but I reckon the wheels look good. Not expecting much from the tyres but I don't really have the budget for anything much more (gotta pay off the car first...)

The wheels I have are standard factory 17" XR6T BA mk2 ute wheels. So far I've found stuff all on the C4 calipers but apparently there are plenty of people who use them (saloon car series etc). Just to add, Justin from Tuffcarparts on ebay has offered to subsidise a new set of wheels to fit over the new brakes (his supplier guaranteed they would fit over 17's). I realise it's a backwards solution but I want to upgrade them anyway. Thanks for the tip with the editor, but it appears that I don't have a compatibility view button...

    Pbr C4 Calipers

Hi all, new here so be kind... I have done a search and trolled through 15 of the 75 pages of the brakes/handling section of this forum, but so far have found nothing regarding the PBR C4 calipers. Actually, they seem to be almost non-existent on Google too. I recently bought a bigger front brake kit off ebay which included RDA grooved rotors (I think they're 330mm), PBR C4 calipers (with adapters), Goodridge braided lines, and EBC Redstuff pads. So far I have not been able to install this kit. The first problem was the (to me) alien design of the calipers (which, thanks to Mat from RaceBrakes Sydney, I was able to rectify), the second problem is that they don't seem to fit inside the rims. By this I mean they mount too far out towards the outside of the car so they scrape against the inside of the (factory standard) rim. Has anyone else bought this kit/similar and had problems? I bought it from Tuffcarparts on ebay (Justin has been helpful so far in trying to solve my issues). Car is a BA mk2 XR6T ute. Cheers. on a completely separate note, does anyone else have the issue when posting that the editor is in the way of what you're trying to type?
  7. Hi Dush73. I have also just bought a BA Mk2 XR6T (ute, manual, 77,000km), and am loving it so far. As for your question 4, it will run on 91 octane (they are low compression engines and at low boost after all), but will get mildly reduced power. As for you other questions, I am very new so I won't bother speculating/opinionating Cheers
