  1. My GTS is a 2007 model which IMHO is better looking than the "woggy" look of the current one. The GTS has quite a few things that are better than the SS, or Bogan special , (seats, brakes, suspension, power) but everyone to their own. Not happy with the price of the 275 x 20 rear tyres :hang:
  2. You may have mentioned it, but cant find, what model F6 is it? BA, BF, or FG? And, have you checked to see if Ford have a long motor available? And unless you are doinf all the work yourself, your costings are way off mark. EDIT, sorry, was typing when you posted
  3. Yes, but in the HSV range, the Clubsport is the "base" model as such. that's why I have a GTS :sungum:
  4. Is it Xmas time, or April fools day??
  5. WOT PART OF ALL THIS DONT YOU GET???
  6. I wanna know how a new car is going to fix the road toll?? And yeah, the Clubby is a poor mans HSV :sungum:
  7. All the BA/BF F6 engines have the stronger rods. Standard XR6T engine, unless its a late BF, or FG, have weak rods. Most will say get an FG F6 short, around $3,000 from Ford, and swap you gear over(providing your head is OK.) I just fitted a new BA/BF F6 long engine to my BA ute, and at the time, was the last one Ford had in stock. Plenty of shorts. There is a few FG F6 engines on Ebay at the moment(310kw) Oh, and yes, your bits and pieces will swap over.
  8. UBA, are you reading these posts properly. Most have told you to get a tuner sorted out, and ask them the questions. As they are doing these things daily, they are the best to ask. And according to the loverly Victorian lads, Ratter is the best, so listen to him with ears all open. Someone in Sydney will recommend a tuner up that way.
  9. While I am no expert, Is a 4" dump worthwhile on a mild engine such as this? The standard dump seems to do OK except if chasing big numbers with big add ons. Monza cooler may not be helping either. Get the cat checked out as said.
  10. If you have had it tuned, they may have altered the idle revs. I have had similar trouble with my BA, and the tuner has just plugged in his laptop, and reset the idle. You can do both cold, and operating idle.
  11. I dont have a problem with starting a section for that sort of stuff. I can throw sh it as well as anyone, but just seemed a double standard with his comments re the Heinrich thread, then to see some of his comments in the new section. You can/will end up with a mud slinging session that some people will take personally. I am on quite a few different forums, and these type of things get out of hand real quick. Anyway, lets just get on with what we are here for.
  12. Probably not. Mine is a daily driver, and my missus drives it as well. No drag strips for me. My trans has been rebuilt twice before. 1st owner once, and 2nd owner had it done. Just doesnt feel right under full boost on the 2nd to 3rd shift( I think that's the gears???) Bruce played with the shifts when I got it tuned with the old engine, but said it needed pressures upped. My local trans man says it cant be done, and you cant beef these trans up. So, you can see why I wont use him!!
  13. I am with you ford_boy. A bit hypocritical of a certain mod who carried on about the Heinrich thread.
  14. Hey fellas, who in Adelaide would you recommend to beef up a 4 speed auto(BA) Mines not perfect at the moment We have a trans bloke down here, but I wouldnt let him touch it. Anyone use MV in Blackwood?
  15. They shouldnt advertize that, as we dont want an invasion of interstate people coming over and spoiling our fun :sungum:
  16. Webby, I have a lot of respect for Bruce. My comment wasnt meant to be smart(unlike some). I have had my daughters Clubsport tuned by him, then run on the Mainline, and its around 30rwkw difference. Just 450ks for me to go is a bit too far.
  17. Got a real low tune at the moment( trying to save the auto) Around 210rwkw on a Mainline Dyno which I know reads about 30 down on Bruces. Feels a lot more than it reads though.
  18. Yeah, my original tune was done with a Unichip, and Bruce removed that and did a flash tune. Picked up 65rwkw down in the lower end. Also put in a mild tune that I didnt get to try New motor done with VCM HP tune.( in Mount Gambier)
  19. Bruce tuned my old motor to come on hard, but I prefer a smooth, continuous boost line. Not blaming Bruce, but I believe that hard boost may have helped blow my engine, plus the fact it was a BA with 128,000ks on it. I think the mods had been on that engine for most of its life. It used to belong to one of the Keen boys in Adelaide. I have had my new Phoon engine tuned mild, and I like it. No big power to brag about :sungum:
  20. A couple of pics of my ute(if it works)
  21. Engine still going great. Just a few little adjustments to smooth out the startup revs. I have photobucket, nut having some probs loading stuff. Will keep at it, and see what I can do.
  22. Jeez, 3 days without a post, and the 1st one we get is an Anna Bligh supporter Come on boys, lets get back to our own :sungum:

    Nascar

Came up on another forum, Nascar going to injection. Sounds like a 4 barrel system. Will be interesting.
  24. 2JZ, no sh*t!! Pulling a few RPM :sungum:
  25. Reviving an old post. I had to replace my RH mount when I fitted the new engine. Lucky the engine was on the floor New one from Ford was $258 Ended up getting one from Repco for $150. As most may know, the turbo mounts are different to the N/A mounts, and 5 times dearer. They obviously get a lot of heat from the turbo, even with a heat shield.
