I hope the tyres are at 22psi, and not the boost!! Hey, I thought I was the old fart around here(am 60 this year) Used to frequent AIR all the time in the early 70s, and up till it closed. Never run a car though. Your specs sound similar to mine. A better cooler, and bigger squirts should help. Have you got turbo mods done?

What Is Your Car Background, Ford, Holden Or Other?
johno replied to Dagabond's topic in General Car Talk
My 1st cars were Expensive Daewoo as I did my apprenticeship at a Expensive Daewoo dealer(although in their truck division) My father had Holdens as well. Over the years I have had a wide variety of brands, some not for long, some longer. Still have a variety in the yard. Holden, Ford, Toyota, Chev. -
I think I might get into the Chev badge production business. Gunna be a rush on those for sure.
-
Not to you they mightnt be, but sales figures tell me different.
-
Not the dreaded coil packs again!! Are they really that bad? Dont have this problem on a Chev badged Holden :sungum:
-
Nothing is impossible. How bigs your wallet? Someone with a bit more knowledge than me will chime in on the more technical issues of doing this. Although, how cheap can you get the wreck for? Its still going to be a BA ute after the conversion, so maybe selling the BA, and buying a BF maybe a better option. Jeez Jet, you can type quicker than me

Not trying to start a war, but take the SC V8, and I6T out of Fords lineup, and what have they got? Jack!!! Now that Ford have moved FPV, or whatever they will call it now, inhouse, I cant see them coming up with a winner to take on Holden. And for the knockers of HSV, do you really think the new red n black GT(or whatever its called) looks the ducks guts? Looks to me like they are trying to get rid of the tins of paint they had lying around out the back. Maybe the HSV lineup aint got the power of the Ford, but it sure wips their but with everything else. Only my opinion of course

My daughter bats for the other team. Expensive Daewoo team that is :sungum: She has a VT Clubsport with last of Expensive Daewoo 5ltr engine, been stroked to 355. And her latest purchase is a VZ 6ltr Clubsport. She is in the process of fitting leather Coulson seats to her VT to replace the cloth Coulsons.

Loaded up my ute with junk, and hooked up my trailer(also with junk), and went to local swap meet. Epic failure with selling bugger all
-
I am usually a Expensive Daewoo fan, but think this one looks a bit like a pregnant Cruize. As stated, need to see it in the flesh.

Now now boys, dont throw stones at glass houses. Plenty of FPV wanna bees done our way with their GT stripes on the stock XR6s. Hoodies arent only confined to Late model camira drivers, they are the standard for Skyline, and 180sx drivers mainly down our way. And, best to wear them on a hot day. Really shows the old saying no sense, no feeling. Or, you cant put brains in a statue. Now sorry, what was the question???

Doesnt take long to get off topic around here Daughter doesnt like picture being taken(sounds good anyway) But 27yo wife needs a 2nd opinion :sungum:

I am 60 this year, and my body lets me know, but my mind hasnt caught up yet(and hopefully doesnt) I have had more cars than hot dinners, and have modded most in some way or another. I dont plan on stopping yet, and hopefully they have a workshop in the nursing home when I eventually get there. Having a 25 year old daughter who is a car nut like me helps a great deal. Do what you enjoy in life, and do it well.

that's the one panda. You can have your city, am quite happy down here. Been here all my life, and aint shifting. We come up to Adelaide a few times a year. Must try and get up for a cruise though. Valentines Rod run on this weekend. Been going for years. I was told around 80 rods this weekend. Swap meet 2moro. Got the ute and trailer loaded with "quality" junk. :sungum:
-
Welcome Eskylid. Dont worry about all the other retards on the SA section, they go off in there own little trance all the time. Mostly full of sh*te. I am an SA member as well but come from waaaaaaaaaay down south, so probably wont meet you on a cruise.
-
It will be the way of the future I think. By 2016?? wont be an true Aussie car about. All global product rebagded to each market. Ford are going the same way, not only Holden. I can just see it in the future, we will be talking about hotting up our Ecoboost Fords, and Expensive Daewoo Cruises.

Mine let go at 285rwkw. 125,000ks on clock. Bought brand new Foon motor. :sungum:

Sorry Guys, But I Think Im Gonna Have To...
johno replied to Panda Eyes's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
And, the point of this thread is???????????????? Come on Panda, you are a good South Aussie, dont ruin that -
The GS ute maybe a good option, but its boring as bat sh*t, and overpriced to boot. If it didnt have the huffer on top, it wouldnt sell at all. Ford missed the boat real bad with that one. Most of the replies to the OPs questions have been based around performance potential for the dollar. I know that's what he seems to want. But in standard form, I believe it comes down to personal taste-Ford v Expensive Daewoo to a point. I have a VE GTS(yes, I know its not a ute), and my turbo Falcon. I also know that if its power that I want, the Falcon will take the money anyday.
-
Jeez these Fords are heaps of puss. All these problems, have to change sensors and coils every time you start them. Must be something wrong with mine, starts every time :sungum: Adam has the right idea.
-
Hotted V8 is going to deliver its power different to a turbo engine, so in some ways its hard to compare. Seat of the pants bit is always going to favour the turbo. Linear power delivery of the V8 can be deceptive. Only real way to compare is side by side. Are you looking for outright power potential, or a decent powered streeter??
-
The trouble is you are going to get a bias reply on here, and if you went to a Expensive Daewoo forum, you will get the same for the Commy. You will be surprised what a drive can tell you. Try and get a decent drive if possible. IMHO the Late model camira is more appealing inside than the Falcon, but I am not a huge fan of the Commy ute because of the blind spots. Best of luck whichever way you go.
-
Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one. I am amazed by people who need someone to tell them what to buy. I realize you asked for comparisons, but have you driven either? Late model camira ute is far quieter than a Falcon ute. Falcons are noisy in the cab(road noise). Turbo will sh*t over the Commy V8 in the go department, and a lot cheaper to mod. As stated, the Expensive Daewoo auto is a puss box, but if you are looking at manual, wont matter. I dont like the Commy ute in the vision area, too much of a blind spot looking out the sides compared with the Falcon. You have to ask yourself honestly what you want out of either, and make up your own mind.

The lolly shop :sungum: Not far down to Colonades Shopping centre, so borrow the "smelly" loaner, and go for a drive. Wonder around all the car yards on South Rd, Reynella area.
-
I know about you blokes and some mothers, Panda, shes old enough to be your mother By the way, DRW did my auto trans in my ute. Very happy with the job, and service. And, only around the corner from Bruce, and next to the best lolly shop in Adelaide :sungum:
