There is no reason why a Late model camira cant wear a Chev badge. Commodores sold in South Africa are sold as a Chev, and some in the states. Fords just Ford regardless of where you go(maybe no imagination???)
Yeah, any track is better than nothing. Portland mob have spent a fair bit of money getting the track and amenities up to scratch so these faster cars will come. The Doorslammer blokes like the track down there. Whats happening on the Adelaide drag front? AIR gunna get going properly, or will Tailem Bend step up? Need a decent strip to get the Top Fuelers etc back to SA.
Yeah Jet, still run at Coonawarra I think. Never been there myself. Not interested in watching street cars drag though, like watching paint dry IMHO. Was good yesterday. Victor and Ben Bray, Peter Kapiras etc. Top line cars. One tried to have sex with the concrete barrier, but lost. Couple of Prostock style cars out of Adelaide as well. Russo funny car.
Just came back from 1/8th mile drags at Portland(Vic). They had 9 Doorslammers there. John Zappia won, 4.01, 184mph. Top meeting. Even had a few Nostalgic rigs there.
Being of the "older" age bracket, I had to put up with Sol and his oils aint oils sh*te adds for Castrol GTX which was nothing but rubbish, so never "bonded" with Castrol at all. Just had Castrol of some description in my VE GTS, and it did nothing but rattle its head off. Was OK on previous Mobil 1, and is now OK on Fuchs. Just not a fan. I use Nulon in my turbo ute with no issues.
Sales figures arent important to me, just stating a fact. And no, I dont own a Mazda of any description. And, racing isnt everything, although it seems to be a pen*s issue around here Now, back to the dreaded coil issue.
Power steer leak will be a hose, or fitting, common problem, engine oil leak could be rod coming out of block(common again) If you arent in a hurry, and as said, can stretch to a few more $, keep looking for as late as you can afford.
I must admit, I didnt check up on whats available, just seems most forums people say there isnt the choice in WA, and prices are higher. Certainly better if can shop local.
Way too expensive IMHO. Plenty of later BFs, and early FGs getting around now. Why would you bother with the early ones. I know cars over in the West are thin on the ground, but a good fly n drive trip to the East will get you something way better.
