Merc, and BMW values drop faster than a brick over a cliff. And, the luxury tax is only on $ value over $57,000??? (around that figure) Correct me if I am wrong. Certainly E series values will go down, just like when any new model comes out. Have a look on Carsales, and see that you can buy a new Maloo cheaper than some private sellers want for 2nd hand. Doesnt matter if Holden, or Ford, all the same.

I predict they wont be able to keep up with demand for the GTS at least. A lot of people have been hanging out for the SC version for a while. I also think there will be a few FPV customers jump the fence.
-
I would say there would be a few on here that would.

GSP07R, you are missing the point about the car. Its not only the power, its the whole package. The brakes will be fantastic(glue your eyeballs in), the trim, handling, etc, etc. Warranty issues apply to Ford as well. Go take your new GT to the strip, and see how the dealer reacts. I think it will sway a lot of current FPV owners to be honest. Time will tell of course. And, an XR6T with 500rwkw is still an XR6T with more power. Nothing else.

Slip over to the SA section, plenty of advise there. What part of Adealide you in?, are you prepaired to travel for the best results? You will gain 30rwkw just by talking to Bruce.

A lot of car companies use older models to test "other" parts, so as not to be so obvious to the public that a new car is on its way. This testing would have been going on for years, not just last week. So, whats the issue with the motor coming from the USA????
-
Dont some of the cruises info pop up on faceless book? Most pop up in this SA section. And they are actually Adelaide cruises
-
Is your motor pooped?, or are you just wanting a stronger/more powerfull engine? The answer may determine which way to go.

How do you blokes(if you have used him) find DRW at Lonsdale for trans? He rebuilt mine in my BA ute, and am very happy. His service(to the ute ) was great, and price was good IMHO. Sorry for a normal question. Back to abnormal, children :sungum:

Jeez, that bloke can drive. Maybe Ken Block??

Fitting A Barra I6T To Another Vehicle
johno replied to Woznaldo's topic in Conversions, transplants and Frankensteins
Sounds like an interesting project mate. Go for it. Maybe go with a C4 auto so its one less electrical issue you have to deal with. Trying to get a wrecked complete car will make it cheaper, I just did an LS1 into a Chev pickup, and got hold of a complete wreck. A lot cheaper, and its surprising what small bits you will use from that wreck. Get some pics up of the car. -
:laughrolling: 5-10k for RHD, you are kidding right?????? Try 30-40k, then you are getting near it.
-
I might have to get me one of them. :sungum:

Paulie, I didnt say "old people", and I didnt say "all" people who own them wouldnt go to the strip. Most is not all. Dags, I didnt know you lived in SA?
-
lakey, what part of Australia are you in? Someone then will be able to guide you to a trans specialist in your area. I am running similar power to you in my BA, and have had my trans rebuilt and beefed, and it works great.

Is Car Safe To Drive With Check Engine Light On? + Procedure To Change
johno replied to Jonno's topic in General Tech
Going on your previous thread, I would be looking at plugs, and make sure they are gapped at .8mm, not the 1.1 on the box. I really cant believe that these engines have so much coil problems, or are the symptoms being missdiagnosed? And, what are 8mm plugs? -
I dont have a problem with 1/4 mile times etc, You are missing the point I am trying to put forward. I know that most people that can afford to buy these cars aint gunna run the 1/4. I like the power as well as the next bloke, but have no interest in running any of my cars down the strip. Most in our town that own VE GTS/Clubby are either school teachers, well to do business people, or the like. Probably most of them have never heard of, or been to a drag race. Its pose value, look at me, look at me, that's what it is.
-
Everyone is wanking on about 1/4 mile times, dyno wank power etc. Doesnt matter what brand it is, some people just like a good pose car, and a nice driver. Most BMW/Mercs wont see a drag strip, do you toss on about that? Didnt FPV shut the doors, and sneak back to Fords back yard? Have a look past your blue oval badge, and see that anything that can keep the Aussie car industry going (regardless of brand) is gotta be good for all of us into the future. Sorry about the rant, I feel it had to be made. And, I drive both brands.

Tidy EF. Pity its at Autotrade.

I 2nd the JBS brand as being a good startoff toolkit for the price. You should get a good setup for your $2,000 to start your trade. You can upgrade to Snapon later when you can afford them. Best of luck in the trade, we need more mechanics out there. Just dont get sucked in by the big shiny dynos and all that stuff, keep your ears open, and your mouth shut unless you need to know something usefull. Learn from the blokes that know what they are talking about.

Found and removed smelly, maggot infested bird jammed up in the front of my ute. Jeez those things get real smelly when rotten.
